Hi, My name is anthony, I stumbled across this site after researching Bantam Trials bikes on google. I have a bantam trials bike project and thought I would say hi to likeminded people! I have had the Bantam for about 20 years, it was my first bike and was very much a "bitsa" when it was first built by my dad and me! It has sat in my shed for a good 10 years so I thought it would be fun to drag it out and rebuild it properly! It currently has a few non original parts fitted, Suzuki TS 100 front forks, Fantic 125 front wheel, Home made Tank, seat, alloy side panels and airfilter! It was fantastic fun to build and gave me a good introduction to trials and was alot of fun…

  4. Started by howard,

What are the best light, with 'good' brakes, pre 65 hubs for 36 spoke, 21" and 18" rims please? I'd like to avoid the heavy BHC hubs.I'm refurbishing a 1964 DOT and would like to know what best to look for? Also, is a 21x1.4" front rim OK for a modern trials tyre or does it have to be 1.6"? Thanks for your help.

Took the bantam out for a shake down(broke the front mudguard ),after about 15-20 mins the poor little bike was getting a wee bit hot and started to die .The bike is running standard ignition,B6 plug, new amal concentric, foam filter.140 main jet,2.5 pilot. The plug was on the light side so probably needs a 150main?, is there any other ways to keep the wee thing cool and where can I get a inlet extension for the carb. as at present it only has a heat shield. cheers the noo Brian

Hello A frind gave me this bike. Frame is a C15S and there is a scramle engine fitted right now. A spare engine C15t came with the bike. Does enybody now about these bikes? Is it a scrambler or a trial bike? Wath is the difference between them? I woud like to use the BSA for classic trials, what do you suggest to modify to use it properly? cheers Ulrico http://thumbs.picr.de/5578781.jpg http://thumbs.picr.de/5578784.jpg http://thumbs.picr.de/5578785.jpg

Hi Fellas I am new to the forum and am asking for help in setting up my cub. It is all original comerford cub, one of the first 20 shipped to Comerfords. It is fitted with an amal 376/314 carb, I have renewed all jets but can,t get it to run without popping. I have checked all joints and they are airtight. On tick over it surges and pops and all adjustments that i have done have not managed to eradicate these problems. Any ideas, I want to keep the bike as original as possible

My air filter assembly has a potential leak near the front. See the picture. Am I missing something? Should there be some sort of cage?

Hi all, This is one of my Dad's old bikes and I was wondering if anyone could help identify it? Could it be the base for a decent Trials bike, In particular the engine? I'm not sure what to do with the bike at the moment and wondered if there was any potential? Thanks.

  17. Started by mcman56,

I purchased a project C15 (1960) with no head steady and then bought one off of eBay. The one I purchased has a flat bar to connect head to frame clamp but it did not seem to fit so I used a simple spacer. It all fits together but is too wide and interferes with the gas tank. Is this the wrong head steady? Could someone describe what the correct one would look like? It looks pretty simple to make....maybe just longer where it attaches to the head. See the picture.

  18. Started by mcman56,

I'm putting together a C15 with an original oil tank. It looks like there is room to move it in towards the center of the bike. This would make the bike more narrow and possibly make space for the exhaust to go inside the subframe? (1960 goose neck). Has anyone done this? Do you have pictures of the mounts?

  19. Started by mcman56,

My C15 project is at the point where I need to mount an "inside the frame" exhaust to get leg clearance. This is a 1960 goose neck type frame. The oil tank has been moved in and slightly forward. See the pictures. (The oil line is not as close as it appears.) There is a section where the pipe sort of steps up and out. It looks like it may be possible to cut and rotate that section so it goes in an down. Has anyone tried that? Or...is it basically easier to build from scratch? Any advice on either option?

I have a 6E 197cc Villiers engine and I'm looking to increase usable power. One way is to use a 1H piston and bore the barrel out to 225cc. I managed to get hold of a standard 1H piston, not an easy item to find. My dilema is the piston weight and increased imbalance of the crank. The old standard 197cc Villiers piston weighs 250g. I rebored it to +20th for a Hepolite dykes ring piston when I got the bike and this piston weighs 275g. The 1H Villiers piston I have weighs 300g! The thought of an extra 2oz/50g flying round at 4000rpm is a bit worrying. Even with the Hepolite piston, which I now assume to be a racing piston for Karting, there is quite a bit of vibrati…
