Looking through some of the pics on some clubs websites i'm amazed and horrified how many people compete without wearling a crash helmet. I can understand to a certain degree why you might want to do it on an old bike but this is shere loonacy!! I have no idea who this bloke is but here's a typical example...

Just got back from a fabulous weekend of trials with the 'South West Classic Trials Association' (Congratulations to everyone involved in arranging such a superb event ) , only thing to spoil the event in my view was the selfish view some take with regard to queueing at the sections. We all know it's a multi lap event with lots of riders, so a couple of sections end up with queues of say 15 - 20 riders waiting to have their go, some seem to think it's acceptable to ride to near the front park their bike amble down to have another look at the section then just come back to their bike and join the queue at the front ! As Trials Central continues to grow, I'm interested in finding out how people find the site performs - Note I don't just mean the Forums as they're optimised to perform well, but the front page, the news side, the Classifieds, the calendar etc - I want to know how you as TC users feel about the whole experience. Hello all First post and it's gonna be a simple question, hopefully with a cheap answer. Both my forks have huge chunks chewed out of the chrome. I've splashed on 2 new stanchions, but before I take them apart I want to be ready to put them back together. Trialling season is rolling on.. Never been inside forks before, should be able to manage tho with all the info out there. Just need to know what weight oil ( a svelte 12stone on an Ossa 280i), and what parts should be replaced. Hi all, I have some air leaking out of my rear wheel at the spoke nipples and am in need of some information. I am going to replace the tyre band to reseal it but also I want to respoke the wheel while Ive got the tyre off because the nipples and some of the spokes are corroded and seized. Have any of you attemted to respoke a wheel yourselves, what is the easiest way of doing it, what torque do you need to have on the spoke nipples?. do you need to make a jig for aligning the rim. I was planning to do it 1 spoke at a time to minimize the amount of movement on the rim while I am tinkering and would appreciate any help from you guys. Oh... I dont want to go down the rou…

This is very much just a personal observation, but I'd be interested to hear how it resonates with others. The last "regular" trial I went to was a bit of an exercise in frustration - I was (knowingly) riding a grade at & above my abilities because I enjoy a challenge and I don't care about placings. I ride for self-satisfaction. That 2-day event saw me really struggle in parts, taking voluntary 5's on a couple of sections. The second day I dropped down a grade which at least let me ride every section. Last weekend I went to my first Gate Trial. Lot's of fun - more fun than I think I've ever had at a comp. I've searched around and haven't found many specific answers for my questions so I want to start a thread to serve as a resource from this point forward. First a little about me. I'm 6'6" (2m) tall, tip the scales at 240lbs (108kg) and am new to trials bikes. My main purpose for a trials bike will be trail riding and eventually I might try my hand at a few trials. On all my other bikes one of the first things I've always had to do right off the bat is resping my bikes for my weight. Good Morning, So I’ve been looking around for an Evo 200, purely because having firmly caught the trials bug I want to upgrade my ‘08 Rev3 250 for something more modern that I can stick with for a year or two and evolve on and everyone seems to think that the Evo 200 is the ‘Holy Grail’ of trials bikes for the novice to progress on. However I have to wonder, if it’s such a brilliant creation, why are none of the other manufacturers making a competing model? The only other 200 2T bike I can see is the Vertigo, which is frankly too expensive at my stage of the game. I'm thinking about replacing my Bieffe helmet. Hung it on the bars at the last meet, and the bike fell over. You guessed it...helmet got sandwiched between a rock and the bars. Has a nice deep gouge in the outside of the helmet and a neat circle and a gouge in the foam inside from the bar end and the clutch lever. Sure saved the bars though! So I'm thinking it's time to replace the lid. Had a Shoei first. Heavy and hot! Then I had an NZI before the Bieffe. Didn't like the NZI, cheap buckles that started rusting right away and the interior material fell apart in a hurry. Both the NZI and the Bieffe pinch the tops of my ears. Doesn't help that I wear glasses. …

Hi ! After an absence of 12 years I decided to start riding again, so I am piecing together my kit once more. Does anyone have any comments on Wulfsport clothing ? (Trousers, shirt and Jackets). Compared to some trial clothing they seem value for money but I haven't seen anyone wearing any. If anyone could help I would appreciate it. RevRider

One of my local clubs held thier annual road trial today and I and my five year old daughter observed in the morning and spectated in the afternon. As usual while observing i was firm but fair and everyone smiled expressed thier thanks and rode on, some as usual stopped for a chat or or said hello to me or my daughter. a pleasant way to spend the morning and as the sun was out and the skies blue we spectated at one of the later groups. the section was tricky, get there early and you had an evens chance of a clean the last 25% of the entry had difficulty getting out of the mudhole, some riders literally having a mudbath. Hey Guys, Currently marking out our van for a weekend/camper conversion...to carry 1 trials bike.... Problem is - my bike is in various bits, 300 miles away!!! Could do with some basic dimensions if anybody is anywhere near a bike!!! Do IRC rear tyres still come off the modern Motad-style rims when inflated at very low pressures, 2 - 3 psi? If so, then why don't the manufacturers make the bead a bit smaller/reduce it's circumference?

Sorry. I know this one has been covered before but I can't find the postings on what sealer to use on the rim tape to stop it leaking through the spoke holes. Can anyone tell me what is the best sealer to use? Is there a trick to getting the tape in place? We spent two hours on it this afternoon and the damn wheel leaks like a sieve! Thanks

Currently have a 4Rt which I've lost all confidence in brake wise so I'm looking for another brand. I don't want to be fettling all the time but I've no idea what would be a good choice. Budget isn't an issue and I'm excluding GasGas as they are frankly rubbish quality.

I wish to turn my Michelin tubeless rear tyre on my SY175, how do mere mortals break the seal tried putting wheel in my bench vice nearly but the jaws are not deep enough, other than that do you need to take it to a Tyre shop?

Just wondering where I can get a pair of the neoprene fork gaiters?
