Aware that there are rules and regulations that the police have to enforce and teetering on the edge of actually following some I thought I’d make a possibly almost legal registration number plate. Not just another bolt on item just waiting to slice into a leg or rip your manhood off! This was to be a retractable marvel. I ran my bike down the road about a mile at 25 mph (~40.234 kph) and back to warm it up before changing the oil. By the time I got back the front brakes had heated up and nearly brought the bike to a stop. The brake lever would not compress and the disk had started to turn blue. These are one year old APJ's. I loosened the lever to make sure that the piston had full range. I changed the brake fluid after the brakes cooled and things went back to working. The shoes are not worn. This may have happened before as I smelled something getting hot after riding the trail to a new section. The bike sat long enough for the brakes to cool before riding the section. I didn…

I am giving the forks on my Merlin a service. The forks are telesco, which I am not familiar with. Does anyone have a tech manual for them? Only one leg has a spring with a pre-tension mechanism. The other seems to house some sort of damping/rebound mechanism, with a 1 to 7 dial. My main question is how much oil in each leg and what grade? What does the 1 to 7 dial do? Chrs Loose Bruce

What is the difference between tubeless and tube type tires? I'm ordering a set of X-11's for my KTM 200 and they are available in either style. Of course I must use tubes in the KTM. I know the Montesa I have uses tubeless rear and tubed front but I don't know why. Just curious, thank you. Bill.

anyone know where you can get hold of an ohlins rear shock with a remote resivoir ?? ive seen them on a few bikes, like danby's gasgas for example cheers

Hi guys I know its a Oset but its condition bugged me from the start, it was very scruffy. I held off for a while to let him ride a bit but then I just could not resist. For very little money and a bit of my time, it got a cosmetic overhaul. All I had to buy was a few spray cans and im having some Oset stickers made. Kinda looks like a classic Montesa hey? So what diy pimping have you guys done (not bolt on parts)? Im keen on any novel ideas/tricks that improve your bike, whether its functional or just for looks.

My brother has a 1990 or so 240 climber. Whats the trick to pulling the clutch basket. It does not appear to be like a jap dirtbike where you can use a tool to hold the basket from spinning. The nut spins along with the plates inside the basket. How do you keep the motor from spinning so you can break the nut loose. btw is it a normal thread or reverse thread?

Well Sunday was the very first time I witnessed a trial. Courtesy of 'sammyj' I popped along to an event that was being held just ouside of Monmouth. I took my 5 year old son along and he loved it also...though I think he enjoyed 'shooting' the bikes with his StormTrooper gun that he took with him more than anything. Although he did say that he wanted one of each colour of bike...needless to say, he's going to be dissapointed. This was the first trial I've seen and I was very impressed with the atmosphere. Lots of riders falling off and having a good laugh about it made for a very relaxing enjoyable visit. I'm glad I took tea though 'cause it was a bit chilly shaded f…

Just bought myself a pair of these and am impressed they look and feel great. But I was wondering if anyone else thought these are made by Sixsixone? Or is it just me? just the packaging is identical and the materials and design are pretty much the same, if this is right then I have good expectations as for the life of these gloves always had good stuff from 661

Anyone running a pwk series carb on their bikes. I built a competition vintage bike and used the 200x Honda motor. The bike runs horrible with the stock Kiehen. Every time it gets bounced around under low to no throttle it stalls. I think the carb is all wrong for trials applications anyway. The floats are not even adjustable. After a lot of screwing around with the stock carb I switched to a tlr 200 carb. This made the bike run much more reliable but lost a noticable amount of power. 22mm instead of the 24mm stock carb. Even with different jetting the power does not come back. Swapped in a Delorto from a gas gas after building a adapter. Now this is a 26mm carb. Bike run…
