    Sunday the 28th sees the Lothian Trials club holding a trial at Aikeyside(about 1 mile from Kidlaw).Usual format of 4 laps of 10 sections all welcome.Was up yesterday cutting out the sections they look Braw.A decent lap over the hill and using the burn. cheers the noo Brian

  2. Our next Trial which will be round 9 of the Club Championship will be at Longcliffe Tops, Longcliffe Nr Matlock, Derbyshire. As usual routes for Expert, Classic Expert, Intermediate, Classic Intermediate and Clubman. Classes for British Bikes, Pre 85 Twinshocks, Pre95 Air Cooled Monos and Over 60's on moderns.     Its the annual Manchester 17's "Hipwell Trial" on Sunday 14th September, start time is 10.30am and its a road based trial of approximatly 5 mile lap of 20 sections ridden twice. Post code for the start area is SK17 8ES. Enteries are taken on the morning up to 30 mins before start time, with a catering van in attendance. There will be 2 routes, clubmen and expert on every section, and it will also cater for the very popular 50/50 route riders. The sections will mainly consist of grippy gritstone streams in and around the Peak District. See you there, Kev and Andy Hipwell.

This is open to non-ACU members as the event will be run under a 'try our sport' permit. Classes to include Elite, Expert, Intermediate, Novice and Beginner. 20" to 26" wheels.     AJ2014 Just a sneak preview as to what is being planned the Allan Jeffery Trophy Trial on the 13 July 2014. Overall, there are some significant changes planned for this year. Namely, out goes the usual loop out from Kettlewell, up Park Rash and back down into Kettlewell. Course plotters Major Injury (MI) and General Disdain (GD) felt that the usual sections in Diamond Pastures were “getting a little tired and in need of a rest”. In comes new, never been used sections at Ellershaw Farm, Hagg Gill and Bouther Gill. Add to all this, a different route over the final moor and riders should have a great day in prospect.     Le Allan Jefferies Trial You know, that if the biggest cycle race on the planet wants to get in on the act, it is a seriously good event! Plans are afoot for the 2014 Allan Jefferies Trial. Dates changed from the usual due to the Tour de France taking a small detour (depart) through Gods own country, the Yorkshire Dales. Saturday the 14th and Sunday the 15th of June see's the Lothian Trials Club running their 2 day trials extravaganza.Not only a 2 day trial but BBQ,live band,evening bonfire and an impromptu sing song till the wee small hours.All classes catered for(great trial for twinshock/ Pre 65),2 routes A and B.Same format as last year Saturdays trial will be in the afternoon with the BBQ and live entertainment in the evening.     This trial is one of a series of 12 events run by participating clubs as part of the South Coast Group Championship. All riders welcome, all bikes welcome - modern, twinshock or Pre65. No licence required. Hard, medium & easy routes with 50/50 too - all in 80 acres of natural Sussex woodland. Rome Woods, Nr Rusper, West Sussex. No road work. Start will be 10 am, 3 laps of 12 sections .   19. Herefordshire Classic trials club(AMCA) will be holding a special event on Sunday 27th April. The trial will be a charity event in aid of Mike Ruck who tragically lost his life in February last year. Mike was one of the founding members of the club in 2004 and held the position of Secretary until his untimely death. The club will be donating the proceeds to The Longtown Mountain Rescue service. The trial will be at the popular Bowley venue (Waterfall) with a choice of 2 routes. and sections will be laid out with classic bikes in mind.     Lothian trials club will be running their 1st trial of the year at their usual venue Kidlaw (EH41 4JW) East Lothian on Sunday the 13th of April.Starting time 10.30a.m.,usual format of 4 laps of 10 sections and a choice of 2 routes. Suitable for all abilities ideal for twinshock/Pre 65.Ideal shakedown before the Pre 65 at the beginning of next month.
