There is a club trial on this Sunday at Rileys Railway, Tilton on the Hill, Leicestershire run by the Loughborough Club (see calender entry) Loughborough is a small band of enthusiastic riders who try to put on a trial most months to suit the average club rider. They run 3 routes so there is something for everyone but the last couple of events have been a struggle, heavy rain made the routes harder than intended in Feb and in March they had to cancel as the ground was waterlogged. They really need some support if they are to keep putting the effort in so if you can get along and support please do so, Richard Hodges who is the lifeline of the club would very much apprecia…

I entered my first LDT last weekend and had a fantastic time! That's not me by the way. I was having a lie down by the time I got to that bit of the section. More pictures and a bit of blathering here I'm really surprised that there isn't more discussion about LDTs here. I'm definitely planning to do some more - these are currently in my diary: 20 July - Timber Woods LDT - Sidcup, Kent 21 September - OK Supreme LDT - Stratford 5 October - Witley LDT - Hampshire Anyone else?

Morning all. Anyone going to be heading up Hungry Hill way in a few weeks for the Talmag? I'm really looking forward to this one, especially with all the rain we've been getting. Should be a good old mud plug.... Hope to see some of you there! Pete.

What a wonderful trial we had this year. Just perfect. 200 riders, all ages, all types of bike. Sections set out as they should be, to allow riders of proper iron a chance to make a difference against the ever more tricked out machines. Proper sounds in the air and proper smells of leather, oil, and burning petrol as bikes roared happily up every one of the sections cheered on by the masses of people straining to find the best angle to watch the action. Better still, brothers won both over 300cc sprung classes on original, unmolested, standard bikes from the period, a truly unique occurrence recording for all that you do not need to spend £12k to gain every advan…

I planned on going to enjoy the bacon sandwiches at Hungry Hill this year but I'm hearing rumours it's been cancelled. Can anyone confirm either way before I drive 100 miles to see a load of old coddgers enjoying themselves on bikes that should be in museums! Bruce.

A reminder that the pre 65 Talmag Trophy Trial is on this Sunday at Hungry Hill, Aldershot. Its a great day out, usually about 200 competitors, first one away at 09.30. Sidecars are quite a spectacle blasting up the steep hills. Triton

Went along to Hungry Hill today for Thames MCC's Mike Kemp trial for twinshock and P65 - Several people asked me where they could find the photos i was taking - they are here on a public facebook gallery. It was a difficult day for some following some considerable recent rain, and then at the very end the heavens opened just as we were going home. Hope the brave volunteers from Thames MCC didn't get too wet! - Thanks for a great day.

I just wanted to thank the wye valley auto club for making my brothers first trial so enjoyable. The day was halted early with a broken gear lever but he has definately got the trials bug. Great sections with really helpful observers and members pointing us in the right direction, thanks again Barry

Afternoon all! Was just wondering if anyone was going to be riding/watching the 'Old Codgers' at Hungry Hill this weekend? I've had a very generous offer from a friend to ride his 250 Greeves which I've accepted! I've not been before so was wondering what to expect. Being a Classic event, and at Hungry Hill I'm guessing lots of long steep climbs and descents? I imagine an assault on the Hungry Hill itself will on the cards? If anyone's going, hope to see you there! I'll be the youngster on a red-framed Greeves changing gear with the brake lever and finding neutral instead of the brake! Will be strange to get used to the gear lever being where its supposed to be! Al…
