Such a popular event it deserves it's own forum!

The 2013 Scottish Six Days Trial (SSDT) has once again confirmed itself as the single most important event in the international trials calendar, with this classic competition set in the Scottish Highlands having attracted just under two hundred and seventy riders from twenty-two different countries. Whilst the home nations continue to make up the bulk of the entry, it is the mighty Spanish Armada who are dominant in terms of the foreign contingent, which help to swell the ranks. Making up just shy of ten percent of the start list, Spanish riders have enjoyed a long and loyal association with the SSDT stretching back several decades. Whilst Great Britain may still be con…

  4. The 101st edition of the Scottish Six Days Trial (SSDT) is underway and is already set up for another enthralling week-long battle in the Highlands with five riders currently sharing the lead, each on zero marks, at the end of the opening day. Last year's winner James Dabill (Beta) is amongst three previous victors who are tied at the top of the leader board after a relatively easy first day for the front-runners. Dabill is locked in a five-way fight with 2010 winner Alexz Wigg (Gas Gas), five times SSDT winner Dougie Lampkin (Gas Gas), Richard Sadler (Sherco) and Jordi Pascuet (JotaGas) who has made a dream start for the new Spanish brand on its SSDT debut.Monday dawne…

  8. Started by bigfoot,

Many of you riders will have seen two dodgy looking blokes in bright red XC-Ting rubber gear photographing at sections that other spectators couldn't get to very easily (This was me Bigfoot and my mate AGM). We went to sections most people other than the riders just don't get to see we also tried to capture riders looking there best in spectacular looking sections but still in control feet up. We did this on behalf of TRIALSPHOTOS.COM but as interest in last years event begins to be over taken by the 2007 event we feel releasing the 2006 ones will only help raise the profile of the event and TrialsCentral/TrialPhotos. Our efforts resulted in around 700 good shots. These…

Just wanted to say what a great job EK and G2F have done on the Observed 2008 book - it arrived through the door yesterday and I sat looking through it for about an hour before I realised I'd left the car and house doors wide open! The pictures are obviously stunning, but the layout and design of the book is beautifully done and really sets the pictures off. Good job all round - cheers folks!

  12. Please note that no traders will be allowed into the West End Car Park before 6pm on Thursday 3rd May. This year the local council have asked us to ensure that no vans, trucks or stalls go into the car park earlier than 6pm on Thursday. This is one of the conditions that are to be met if we are to be given the use of the car park for the week, so we'd ask you all to respect their request and refrain from parking any trade vehicles in the car park until then. After that, the famous Rab will be on duty to direct operations - just one of his many talents! Looking forward to seeing you all there again - keep your fingers crossed for some sunshine!

Just read all about Tony Down's rides in the SSDT on his blog. Well worth the read! Not sure if this is the right place to put this post as there is so much to read about on his blog it could go pretty much anywhere, but as it was the SSDT that drew me too it I thought I'd let you know about it here. I really enjoyed reading his account, get over there and have a read yourselves!

For all you riders competing in the SSDT this year I would recommend you visit HERE and order youself a quality photo of ''Your Holiday in the Highlands'' I am not on any commission for pluging this only to say I have ordered a couple of photo's from Andy and they are quality, so it is worth you spending a bit of brass as it is only a samll amount of what you spent last week up there on keeping your bike going or keeping yourself lubricated in the evening on BEER!!! As Andy says the money goes back into our sport so another worthwhile reason for doing it.

Now i know the organising club, whoever they are as i have never been so not sure, for the Pre 65 event dont have a website so is there any way i can obtain a list of entries for the event? I was going to offer to observe while i was there but heard from a friend yesterday that they had offered but were told observers were not a problem. Theyre lucky then Would be nice just to see who is riding to see if i know anybody.

Number Eighty, caught dabbing. Only #264 has dabbed less in the last five days. So this is one of those rare shots. That's unless someone claims he didn't dab in the photo? Runner-up cool picture goes to the photo taken moments before this alleged dab.

Well in todays paper they are thinking of moving the first Bank Holiday in May to October and calling it 'Trafalger Day' or 'UK Day'? I am sure this will have an impact for the SSDT? Some spectators make the first weekend a long weekend taking in the Pre'65 and the Monday's sections before heading South only using 1 days holiday entitlement. I am sure some riders with family holidays booked in the Summer are glad of the Bank Holiday as they save a day only using 4 days. I know with my work our entitlement is C**p so if it is moved other holidays may take preference over the SSDT, of course this year is an added bonus with the Royal Wedding so that might boost the numbe…

Hi, My brother and I are currently trying to sort out a load of bikes and parts that our parents collected over the years. We've done a bit of digging into a DOT we have and the info suggests it's 1961 works trials rep that was shipped up to Duncan's in Brechin for John Noble to ride in the SSDT. Would anyone on here have access to start lists/results from the early 60s to see if that could be true? Very grateful for any info or help. Thanks in advance Ian In case anyone is interested, here's a (somewhat blurry) pic!

Thursday lived up to its traditional tough billing as the 2013 Scottish Six Days Trial (SSDT) moved into the second and deciding phase of the competition. Dougie Lampkin (Gas Gas) used the opportunity of the longest day of the trial, and the toughest to date, to move into the lead for the first time this week. His single mark loss today puts him on seven in total, and sees him move ahead of overnight leader Alexz Wigg (Gas Gas) who dropped eight marks on day four.
