Scottish Provincial Press Ltd, the company who produce the official SSDT programme, still have limited advertising space available for the 2009 event. If you think your company could benefit from advertising to the thousands of trials fans that descend on Fort William each year, it might be worth giving them a shout. There are all sorts of advertisements you can have, from a few lines to a double-page spread. To get more information, contact Michelle Martin at Scottish Provincial Press - you can call her on 01463 732 223 (Ext 124) or you can email her by clicking HERE.

Better late than never. This year's trialscentral supported DVD is now available. I've set up a 'buy now' option on ebay http://cgi.ebay.co.u...8#ht_500wt_1156 If you want to save the world from ebay then you can also just send the same money to me via paypal making sure you give me a good clear address and I'll send you a copy. I can also still ship 2011 disks if anyone wants one. Just add £4 and let me know that you want one in the payment text. I'll be shipping every day so you shouldn't have to wait long.

It was brought to my attention whilst in Fort William that Tommy passed away during SSDT week. With everything going on I omitted to mention this on Trials Central. Plenty of you will have known Tommy and many of you who have ridden will have crossed swords with him at some point! Tommy was one of those characters that the Scottish is so well known for. Every year he drove up in his Reliant Robin via A and B roads because he wasn't allowed on motorways, but still he made it - even when he was well into his 90's. Many times I've seen that little three-wheeler parked up in a layby beside the "Time Control Start" sign like some kind of cop car and imagined him giving chas…

Having celebrated his 17th birthday only last month, Joshua Atkinson from Dronfield, Derbyshire (near Sheffield) is the youngest rider competing in the 2012 Scottish Six Days Trial (SSDT). This week Josh wears number '152' and sits just outside the top 250 after a tough opening day on his trusty 2011 Gas Gas 125cc machine. The college student is one of four riders representing Sheffield and Hallamshire Motor Club. Speaking at the beginning of the week, Josh told of how excited he was to be making his SSDT debut.

I was wondering if anyone had any hints or tips for getting a rear tire back on the rim when out on a Scottish moor? I had always thought that should I be unfortunate enough to have the rear come off the rim I would take out the valve and fit the spare front tube in the rear. I thought I would then be able to inflate it with a pump and a CO2 cartridge to get it out onto the rim before letting it down to a more useful pressure to continue riding the sections before getting back to Fort William

Well worth a couple of quid to see shirty riding in tights, might get a bit cold round the Trossacks, but it doesn't look like that will be used this year.

Full details of today's route and progress will follow shortly. Today's trial has been disrupted due to a fatal road traffic collision involving a motorcyclist on the A82, just west of Spean Bridge. The accident is in no way connected with the Scottish Six Days Trial, but has a direct impact on the event as the road has been closed, and will be for some hours yet as accident investigations take place. Further details will be provided as soon as we have enough time here in the office to sit down.

We left behind a Hebo folding stand at Tuesday lunch check. Has WIGGY written on it in felt tip. If anyone can return it to Carlisle I will give a small reward. Julian Wigg.

Ah well time for the abuse to start... Pre 65 and first weekend is looking pretty good from the Pics below 4th: Dry long sunny spells, 15 to 18 degrees light winds 5th: As above 6th: As above but a little warmer, 17-19 degrees 7th: Again as above but warmer again 18-20 degrees its a pretty settled pattern and the longer it stay that way the better however the latter part of the week doesn't look that great at the minute but remember that's nearly two weeks away. It's likely things will start to break down Wednesday/Thursday wet becoming cooler and showery after that.....more to follow before I leave on Thursday.

so as the ssdt rapidly approaches who would you put your money on to win the womens class, with no spanish or german contenders this year ,i think it could be rather intresting. my money would be on maria conway on current form but if you look at the entry list theres 5 potential contenders but i think it may be very close .
