Please watch this site for further news, or telephone Youth Trials Secretary Anne Wilkinson on 01944 728301 or Dave Wilkinson on 07831673627. www.scarboroughdmc.co.uk

  4. Started by telecat,

So looks like the number of rounds for the C & D Championship is a bit much. After the ACU said they would try and make things "easier" for parents they come up with 8 rounds in 7 months!!!! That might sound OK but 3 of those are in September!! Even worse for any competitor south of Watford 6 of them are in the North. The A&B at least has the Rounds spread around datewise even though most are northern based. This is the Problem. The EXPENSE of these rounds. The Petrol, Diesel, Parts and Accommodation incurred means many potential Entrants are already put off. It cost me over £300 a round 4 years ago. That was averaging it out between the Close and Distant round…

  5. Are there any Youth specific beginner dead easy trials coming up anywhere?? I feel that my son is not yet ready for the easy route on our normal club trials, and was looking for something to take him too that he's got half a chance of doing ok in to build his confidence up. Or indeed a 'non' youth specific beginners/ dead easy trial would be good too. I realy don't want to just throw him into something thats too hard and him have a miserable day. He's nearly 10 and rides a beta 80 big wheel if that makes any difference. We are based in the east midlands but dont mind a drive for the right event Thanks

  6. Started by yoyo,

Can anybody tell me what ages go against what engine sizes or classes for youths? I've two lads aged 9 (10 in Dec) and 7 (8 next Aug), and I'm not sure of what bikes they could ride on. I've had a mooch around on the ACU website but I can't find the info. I've just bought an aging Yam TY80 for them to get to grips with, with the idea that they can learn clutch control etc. They've both riden 50 & 80cc MX auto's before, but the boss is worried about them hurtling around a track doing MX. As I've just bought myself a 270 Beta, I was thinking that the 3 of us could go off and ride together etc. And finally, could they compete ok on the TY80 or would they need someth…

  8. Started by mich lin,

Why not a youth World Championhship? Run the event on a similar foremat to the ladies world championship, perhaps even at the same time and on the same course.
