French Grand Prix at Le Mans 18, 19 and 20 May 2007 DANI GOING ALL OUT TO REPEAT HISTORY IN FRANCE The MotoGP season now enters its most intense phase with seven races over the next ten weeks and no one will be more focused on getting the most out of this gruelling period of racing than Dani Pedrosa (Repsol Honda RC212V). Dani has triumphed here at Le Mans on a 125cc machine in 2003 and the Spanish idol achieved two 250cc wins at the Bugatti circuit in 2004 and 2005. He also set the pole position here with a lap time of 1m 33.990 seconds in his debut MotoGP season and will be looking to achieve even more this weekend as he starts his 100th Grand Pr…

Yesterday's Argentina MotoGP was a good 'un. Congrats to Cal Crutchlow for a fine win. However the main talking point was Marquez's aggressive riding. This was probably caused by a rush of angry adrenaline after being given a 'drive through' penalty for riding in the reverse direction at the start after stalling his engine and then bump starting (ooh, complicated to explain). When given the penalty he was in the lead, but he rejoined the race at the tail end, hence his anger. From that point onwards he rode like a maniac right up to about fifth position (if I remember correctly), having barged his way past most of his competitors including Rossi who crashed due to be…

This should be, I think, the most Spectacular year in MotoGP in recent history. Correct me if I am wrong. First, we head back to 1000cc engines, something that has been missing in the horsepower department. Then, We have changed riders in different team positions. Also, will Ducati make a come back to a front Row when Casey and Nicky dominated the field? Finally, will Honda with, Casey, Dani, and not Dovi, be the survivors of the 2012 MotoGP World Championship?. Give me your best estimation.

Just been looking at the provisional dates for MotoGP next year. Why is it that Spain gets 3 rounds and everyone else has to make do with 1. Its the same with trials, the effectively get 3 again, with Portugal and Andorra only a stones throw away. Is Spain the centre of the universe for Motorcycle Sport as far as the FIM is concerned??????????

  8. Yamaha GP points leader Jorge Lorenzo appears to be in line for another Championship Title. Current Champion, Casey Stoner has not seemed to recover fully from that broken ankle accident, and perhaps he'd like to exit his active carreer entact to enjoy the rest of his life, no blame there. Honda's Dani Pedrosa, seems to be on a winning streak and is not likely to catch up to winning the top spot, being he is 28 points behind Jorge Lorenzo. My take on the last three races is: Lorenzo will be happy to accept 20 points for each of the last three races,(2nd place), rather than submit himself to risking danger for the 25 points given to first place. Can you see anything differ…

Looks like they are having a few problems getting up to speed before the season opener. Hoped they would bring out something near the mark this season but quite a few seconds off the pace so far.

MotoGP test Catalunya. Day one March 3, 2006. The MotoGP teams returned to Europe this week for the closing stages of winter testing. The teams began a three-day test at the Catalunya circuit, close to Barcelona today with final testing taking place at the Jerez circuit in, Andalusia scene of the opening race of the 17-round world championship series. Cold weather and strong wind made for a difficult early morning but as soon as the track surface warmed the teams set about finding machine base settings the riders will need to get the best out of the three-day test. Fastest Honda rider on the opening day of test was American Nicky Hayden (Repsol Honda). Th…

As round two of what is shaping up to be a red-hot MotoGP World Championship hits Jerez in southern Spain this weekend, a 250,000 crowd is expected. This horde will largely be there to will on Dani Pedrosa (Repsol Honda RC212V), the main Spanish hope for the 2007 World Championship. Dani scored a third place in the opening race in Qatar and now that the series has returned to Europe, he will be looking for nothing less than a win at his

  14. Finally after Mondays advertised showing was cancelled, saw the programme yesterday Tuesday. Marc Marquez high-sided after a tremendous push through the pack after taking to the kitty litter big time when leading. It was a miracle he managed to stay upright and rejoin near the back of the pack, so then he proceeds to demolish everyone and fight back to second only to get caught out by himself (tyres were an issue for many riders) a wobble, a twitch and then the kick and way up goes Marc to land on the sand but then gets punted by his bike. After flailing about and rolling a few times his right arm looked to be in a right state. The bike was trashed and Marc looked to be i…

HONDA RACING INFORMATION Italian Grand Prix at Mugello Saturday June 2, 2007 WET WEATHER PLAYS HAVOC WITH QUALIFYING IN ITALY The MotoGP grid was almost washed out here at a sopping wet Mugello, but in semi-wet and then tough, slippery conditions it was Casey Stoner (Ducati) who took his first pole position of the season, with Chris Vermeulen (Suzuki) qualifying second fastest and Valentino Rossi (Yamaha) completing the front row. As the hour long MotoGP qualifying session got underway the track was still damp after a thorough downpour earlier and riders emerged on wet tyres to cope with the soaking track. The early pacesetters were Stoner, Vermeule…

Why would Dovi switch to Ducati? He's got 5 podiums under his belt with Tech 3 Yamaha, so far this season! He should have been chosen by Honda to pair up with Dani, given his performance so far this year. Moreover, Tech 3 should have offered him something, Then why would he take a 2 year deal with a manufacturer he is very likely to struggle with for a top 5. Why? Is it the money, or the prestige? Or something else.

I wonder if HRC Honda would have eeked out a Championship this past year without the jump on Yamaha with that seamless transmission. I've noticed the 253mph Bugatti runs the same type of gearbox. Even VRossi has said it makes a difference. Who invented it first?
