Currently trying to source some rear seals for my 2004 beta rev 3. Anyone know where I can get a kit or anywhere else I can obtain these seals?

Chaps, Just noticed this little movie online: http://betamotor.jp/support/cluch-ajust.htm What's going on there? Shimming out for better engagement? Is this an alternative option as opposed to filing/polishing the plates?

hi folks new to the site and to trials. just got myself an old beta rev 3 2000 model. I'm replacing a few parts on it to get up and running which include a kill switch. It looks as if there has not been one fitted before so I'd like to ask how this is wired in. Also would anyone have a manual on this model. thanks

Still getting to know my 1993 Beta Gara... The fuel tap, carefully designed to be positioned as inaccessibly as possible, now horizontal is off, vertical is on, but slightly over centre...? Is that reserve...? Or just a broken fuel tap?

Hi All. I got my self a 02 Beta Rev 3 250 which has got previous owner syndrome! Can anyone help me by either explaining or showing me where the coil and other wiring should be located, I’m almost certain this isn’t located here for performance enhancing reasons!

My son's beta Evo factory 2019 has got tech forks. Should there be two spindle wheel spacers. I have one on the caliper side and no spacer on the right hand side. I've noticed a little play on this side. Can somebody help?

I’m trying to find out whether my beta is a factory model or not. Guy I bought it off wasn’t sure at the time but sold it to me on the assumption it wasn’t. It’s had an engine rebuild last year when big end went and mechanic thought it may be factory because of some of the extras on there. It’s got “factory” on the casing, yellow rear shock, and some other noticeable differences but wondered whether there was anything really obvious I could check it against. The Vin number is really hard to read on it, but I’ve got the engine number (it’s deffo a 300). Guy I bought it off couple of years back sold it as a 14 model. Decals are nothing to go by as they’ve been cha…

I have had this sweet little bike for a couple of years. I've done a few things, water pump and all bearings, fixed the fan motor, new shock, new fork seals, new shoes. She runs nice and starts pretty easy. I'm a beginner, so probably not too fussy. I have no idea about the history. When do I consider a top end? Based on the age, I will guess that will include cylinder plating and bottom end bearings too. I don't want to wait until it's too bad that I can't fix it. TIA!

  10. Kicked started my boys Evo today, probably somehow miss timed the kick and it felt like something broke in the kick starter mechanism. It did start but it rattled like hell (sounding like something loose in there) so I stopped it. Shortly after, I tried to start it again and whatever part of the kick start mechanism failed completely so now the Kick start doesn’t turn the engine at all. It doesn’t seem to the the kick steer lever itself- eternally that seems fine - and it turns the shaft it’s on. I’m new to the sport so other than oil and filter changes, haven’t had to open the engine previously. Im fancying setting too with the manuals in hand to replace whatev…

I’m about to get a new bike. I love my 260 4RT. I will most likely get a new 4RT or Repsol. But as a 50-odd year old just wanting an easy blast and pretty much zero maintenance (latter is really important) the 2021 200 Evo sounds a great option. I’ve had loads of bikes over the years but only get out about 20 times a year as so stacked with other commitments. I know I’d find the Beta an easy ride, but (and please be honest) will it require a load more looking after than my Montesa? Is the build quality anywhere near Honda? What are the annoying niggles? And is it OK to road register? Should I go for a 250? So many questions! Nb. Riding easy class these day…

  12. I just had the most patronising of conversations with a trials riding bloke who answered all my questions with "well, what do you think...?" and a tone which didn't need to state "you idiot" at the end of every reply. Disappointing both as a fellow biker, and somebody getting back into trials riding. Anyway, I'm returning to riding a trials bike for the first time since the 1970s. I had a TL 150 back then. I've just bought a 1993 Beta Zero Gara. In between I've had road bikes and trail bikes of all descriptions, including sticky clutch jobbies. I'm sure if I spent a day trawling Google I'd find some answers, but I'm hoping here might be more productive, faster.…

Hi guys. Rolling two questions into one here. We have a 2010 evo 125. We had it cheap but with lots of issues. The motor is currently out to be rebuilt, we will be keeping this bike for a long time so don't mind spending the money on it, as there's 3 of us in the house who can use it. One issue how loud it is. The last owner said he removed the exhaust and poured petrol into the pipes and set fire to it, to burn the oil off, and then repacked the silencer but it was still loud. We have coped with it for a while but it needs sorting now. On removing I realised (new to evos) there is more packing within the silencer that you need to cut the pipe open to get to. Im gues…

Apologies for the stupid question but Im literally just starting out. I know gear shifting isn't something you are constantly doing on a trials bike .. but ..do you need to use a clutch to shift gears up and down or not (like a dirt bike). Thanks in advance

Hello, I've just bought a 1988 Beta TR34. It requires some TLC but nothing major I believe. It was dismantled by previous owner, so I bought it in boxes but I got a photo of it put together My first bunch of questions: What type of engine oil and how much CC to use? What fork oil viscosty to use? I've found here to put 200ml per side. Is there a symbol or number for air filter? Mine has disintegrated and I would like to source one locally. Rear rim is tubeless type, it is fitted wit two valves at the moment I believe one should be replaced with rim lock. I am concerned if a standerd rim lock would seal properly and won't let air. Are there…

  18. I’m often told when riding trials that my 2016 4t is really quite. However, I have always thought that it was a bit “tappety”. Anyhow I decided that if I can’t ride it at the moment I might as well check the clearances on the valves. So I ran the bike yesterday and left it overnight to cool right off. Today I stripped the bike down and took the valve covers off to check the clearances and found that the tappers were really tight! So much so that it took a full turn and a half on the adjustment screw to get the feeler gauges in. Any how I went ahead and adjusted to the correct gap and rebuilt the bike. Now the bike won’t start and is really hard to kick over. I…

half way through a trial yesterday I noticed a faint squeal coming from the engine intermittently on my bike. I thought it was the fan bearing. after id washed it this morning I started the bike and the intermittent squeal is not the fan as it happens without the fan running. it sounds like its coming from the waterpump area. anyone else had this on a 16 evo 300 or any other evo at all? was it a case of new bearings or seal etc? thanks

Is there any way of identifying which rear spring I have in my 2014 250 Evo? I suspect the previous owner may have been a little large and fitted a heavier spring. I've just taken it off, expecting to find a part number or code on one of the ground ends, or perhaps some coloured paint dabs. But there is nothing! It has four and a half active coils and the wire gauge is about 9.5mm (ranges from 9.3 to 9.8 depending on where I measure).
