I took the plunge and decided on a Kuberg Trail E for my 5 year old. He's been rding an XR50 for almost a year but I couldnt get him to stand up on the pegs (or sometimes use the pegs at all). I figured a trials type bike would be ideal for teaching this so the XR50 went on Craigslist and the search began for an Oset. As I searched I found that the Oset's commanded a hefty resale premium and I'd have to drive to get it or ship the bike. At $900US, unless the Oset was local I was almost better off buying new. I broadened my search to include the Kuberg and the Gas Gas E bike. Thats when I found that the Kuberg was available on Amazon. I already had an Amazon Prime account…

hi all just tried fitting a lanyard to my grandsons 2007 oset 16 bike. it needs one for youth trials and as it is an old bike it seems it is not a simple matter of fit and go. i have an apico lanyard here and after taking the seat off discovred 2 red wires coming from the switch that have been fitted to it as they are not standard. i have tried using the lanyard using the red wires and when the 2 red wires are joined the motor is fine, when separated it stops, all well and good, when i add in the lanyard the motor will only work when the lanyard magnet is disconected, ie as if the rider has fallen off, the reverse of what should happen? any ideas?…

Quick question, anyone know what the legality around riding these small Oset's are in parks/commons/pavements around the UK? Don't want to be doing anything we shouldn't be doing so thought I'd check first.

I'm not willing to risk with LiPo and don't really want to geek out on stuff or have some super fancy setup. Any problem with just buying 3 of these and running in a 3s setup and then either charging as 3s or having a separate connector to charge them individually? I might go for 20AH version too, spendy but I like the idea of having tons of range. https://www.amazon.com/ExpertPower-Lithium-Rechargeable-2500-7000-lifetime/dp/B07X3Y3LS5?th=1 They look like they got a good BMS in them so I'm thinking if I charge them as-is (3s) with enough voltage they'll be fine, no?

Hi Being now the proud owner of a 12.5 and a 16 36V (for the boys you understand ) I am a bit confused over the charge indicators on the throttle. Having built them up and plugged the charger in, the light on the charger turned to green within 5 minutes, indicating a full charge. When you turn the bikes on, 3 lights on the throttle assembly turn red. Does this indicate full charge, or do the lights on the throttle go green? Another quick question, the grips don't appear too big for my children, but the brake levers on the 12.5 are tiny (length wise), are they just replacable with cycle parts as I would like to get similar length levers to the 16. Also the bar ends peo…

Has anyone done it yet? I have a 20" and it is absolutely amazing. It has way more power than an 80cc bike, great suspension and light weight. For my previous electric bike builds I have a bunch of 6s1p and 3s1p packs. Oset US turned me on to a drop in solution that uses Lifepo4s packaged as a direct replacement for Osets. They even sell them in a kit with batteries and charger. They are very cool as they have a battery management system built in so they are as easy to charge as the standard Oset SLAs. They list a kit for 24v and 36v and will probably have the 48v soon. http://earthxmotorsports.com/products-page/etx-batteries/oset-36v-kit/ They are more expensive that H…

Have looked at doing the LiPo conversion and just don't want the hassle of managing that type of battery. I recently put a Shido Lithium Ion battery in my KTM Supermoto and was impressed with the weight saving and performance. So, got me thinking I could put 4 x 12v Shido Batteries (19wh) Link here in the Oset 20. This will save around 70% in weight and should also give a longer run time as they are 19wh (Oset batteries are 10ah) Has anyone tried this, will it work? Looking for any type of input from members who have experience of batteries. Thanks

Hi. I have installed a high tech custom lithium ion battery pack , 20 amp hour ( it's. for a 2014 20 Oset It runs all day and has impressive power. However when my boy is riding slowly it cuts out and there is massive engine braking. He then twists the throttle and a lag then boom it's off. It's like the engine cuts out ? Any ideas? Otherwise it's now perfect and he can ride all day just not slowly........

Hi all. Another question............. As I have both the 16 36v and the 12.5 (both 2010 models), can anyone suggest a battery that will increase the running time on the 12.5. Do I need to look for a larger amp hours battery? The 12.5 appears to lose power after about 1hr of on/off running, but still work (albeit slowly) the 16 on the other hand is still rocketing off. Also another quick question. Will the 600w motor from the 16 fit the 12.5 (with a change of batteries)? Sorry for these questions, but the smaller of the 2 children gets a bit frustrated at his brother roaring (albeit silently) off into the distance. Many thanks Andy

So I'm looking to ride some local mountain bike trails and workout my working line German shepherd. Just discovered electric trials bikes today, and been looking at osets 20/24s. Would these bikes work for this purpose? I may try some light trialing, but what attracted me to these is they look like mountain bikes. There's no laws against electric bikes here on trails here in Kansas. but between the dog and the bike, I'm just not trying to attract to much attention so that people will complain. people generally don't care bout that kinda stuff around here anyways. Any advice is appreciated!

Hi, I have just purchased an oset bikes (small one), but i am having trouble trying to keep the bikes at very low speed, is this normal? i set the speed with the throttle right open and adjust t down to slow walking speed, my riders are still trying to get to grips with the brakes so don`t want it any faster, when it is turn off by the key then back on again after a minute or so, the speed increases (fast walking pace), also the speed adjust seem very very sensative, i`m worried that the speed could increase whilst the bike is in use, and as this little machine is so powerful it`s quite scary to think it could take off with my little one on board, any tips or advice??

Hello guys, I created a 15aH LifePo4 Battery for the OSET of my son. At equivalent capacity, 10aH, the Lifepo4 will give better autonomy than the original lead batteries because the efficiency is much higher (95% against 60%)... I chose LifePo4 cells because they are safer than Li-ion (no risk of explosion or fire). Now my son can run x3 time longer and we won 8kg on the bike ! Please find in the attached file the full procedure if you want to create your own too. I put all the link to buy the components. Then all the setting for the BMS are explained in the attached file too. I chose this ELERIX bra…

Our boys have been spending way more focus and time on their gas machines, and we decided to sell the pair of 36v 16's. I expected that they would go super quickly, but there has been almost no interest here on craiglist and a couple of the local MC (not trials) forums. Is $800 and $900 out of line for 3 year old machines? Or is it just that trials is out of the US mainstream? Pete

Posting here as there doesn't appear to be a Mecatecno section. Is @Andystill running the show?🤩 I bought a Mecatecno T08 for my 4 year old grandson, it came from an auction (unseen, impulse buy!) and has cleaned up really well for an old bike. Replaced both levers, unseized the front forks and cleaned all the electrical connections ready for two new 9.0Ah batteries, which are on order. The only things I need now are a charger and I believe it might be missing a return spring for the front brake. Just wondering whether parts are interchangeable with other electric bikes, does anybody know. I can't find any information on the UK importer except that it used to be…

Hi folks, bit of a random one here. Running an old 16 24v but using a 36v Boost battery and it was working great until the chain broke. The chain jammed and the motor made a clicking noise when then it jammed. Once cleared, the front sprocket looked like it ran perfectly. Stuck on a new chain but once any weight is added to the bike, it accelerates much slower than previously but has the same top speed (once it finally gets there). Any thoughts would be appreciated....the motor is the old 24v 500w motor, could it just be done???

Hi, My lad is nearly 4 and the 12.5 is looking a bit small. I don't really want to our faze him by moving him to a bike too big for him. I tried using the adjustable stearing head from my bicycle but it didn't just raise the handle bars it also move them forward quiet a lot which seemed to have a drastic effect on the bike's geometry. I think he'll be ready around Xmas time to move up, but until then does anyone have any ideas how to make his 12.5 bigger and therefor easier for him to ride?
