I feel like I should have wrapped my head around this, but I'm struggling. I pulled the 2012 gasser 280 out this morning , before ride I noticed milk coloured oil. Impeller, seal and shaft have been done within the last 40hrs. I changed the oil, still milky and rode for maybe 15mins, noticed the fan not coming on. After the ride I jumped the fan to a spare battery, it works great, testing the thermostat, it seems to always have resistance and isn't opening, put it in boiling water, no click and no real changes in resistance. So... I would say bad thermostat, but could this overheat coolant into the oil? or do I have multiple issues? Or am I missing something! FYI it is ov…

Hi, my sons txt racings fuel tank is leaking from the spigot that the the fuel tap pushes into. I thought it was the tap but its the spout/spigot that the tap pushes into. On further inspection it is threaded into the tank with a bonding agent at the factory, the part is not available a on its own it comes as part of a new tank. I was wondering if anybody else has had this happen and what you used to seal it ? I have ordered some JB weld plastic bond which is apparently fuel resistant, but any other ideas would be very welcome. cheers.

dellorto phbg 21 ds gas gas 70 2003 Carburettor adjustment. Hi all I am trying to adjust the tickover on this carb/ bike . There are two adjustment screws on the side Idle mixture and slide stop screw . I have taken this carb apart and blew out and cleaned all visible jets and galleries. Now back on bike and starts and runs ok but the tickover screw doesn't seem to be able to screw in any more to raise the speed of engine. I have bought a new slider and this does not make any difference. Can anyone think of any other things I may be missing . Regards Neil

Hi can anyone tell me where I can get a rebuild kit for the hebo front caliper from a 2003 txt 70. Also the dellorto carb spares as I think I need a slider that the needle fits into as the tickover screw seems to have worn away the bit of the slider it actually touches. Kind regards Neil

I just bought a 2003 gas gas 2003 280 pro I knew it had shifting problems, it drops into neutral when I’m riding then it’s difficult to get back into gear I usually have to shut the bike off roll it around and it usually finds a gear, I’m in the process of checking the adjuster behind the clutch, the clutch removal isn’t going as planned the 4mm bolt in the centre of the clutch seems to have stripped threads I turned it out with no problems and I can’t get the bolt out the clutch hub moves out about 1/4 inch and that’s it the bolt just spins, and also when I removed the clutch cover a piece fell out that I can’t find where it came from, it just seems to have fell out beca…

Hello everyone I have an issue that's puzzling me. I have a 2017 280 TXT Racing. I've noticed recently that after starting the bike, and letting it warm up for 3-5 mins (choke for only about 30 seconds of that) - when I first start out, the motor seems like it's loaded up. It's almost like it's missing - lack of power. After another 2 mins or so of riding, it evens out and runs like a champ the rest of the day, even after long stretches of sitting. I believe the bike is jetted correctly. I consistently run 100:1 Two changes I've made in the last few months: 1. Changed from Yamalube to Motul for my mix. Bike seems to like it, can't imagine this is it 2.…

Hi all. Anyone fitted the splat shop 15% uprated rear spring to a Sachs rear shock on a gasgas txt pro 2012 250cc? It appears to be 15mm shorter than the original and to have it held in place it needs the preload to be all the way down to the end of the threads!! Any thoughts?

Hi there. We bought a 2021 Gas Gas 125 Racing on the 23rd March with the special deal of £1000 discount. There were several things that had to be sorted before it could be made ready to ride. The second time it was ridden by our 13 year Granddaughter it started mis-firing and back firing. The van we transport it in had a lot of condensation and the wires and CDI unit were damp. It had been put in the van over night after a few hours running the motor in. My son dried everything off and the motor was running well again. But after breaking down twice at trials and 17.8 hours of running it failed to re-start after a few hours of riding and had t…

Hi, first post here. I have a 2007 gasgas txt 300 pro, I dont know if I have a leg like a donkey or if I'm really just a jackass. I have a knack for kicking the kick lever off of bikes, all bikes; I promise I try not to do this. So onto my question finally, what are the most durable kick levers I can find for this bike? I heard steel ones are frowned upon but the aluminum one that was on the bike bit the dust the second day I owned it. It may have been just fatigued but I'd rather just not ever question such a simple, yet integral, parts reliability again.

Hi, I have bought a NGK BPR6EIX-11 as a spare for my 2017 TXT250 I think I made an error as I needed BPR6EIX, that's what is in the bike now. The 11 I believe relates to the electrode gap being 1.1mm where as if there is no number after the X it relates to a 0.7-0.8mm gap, see attached. My question is, can I not just adjust the gap myself? 0.3-0.4mm is not much to move the end tab earth that the spark jumps across to. Having just checked the manual 0.6-0.7mm is the gap required for my model. Thanks for your help.

Hi all, Im very new to the sport and just picked up my first bike a 1998 Gasgas TX 270. The bike is in need of a new rear caliper and I am having serious problems finding one. The part number is bt27922001 but they are long out of production. If anyone knows where I can source one or perhaps knows if it is possible to use a different caliper and mounting plate I would be very grateful. Thanks Mosclown

About 3 or 4 years ago I bought a really well made aluminium manifold extension for my gasgas pro. It fits on the carburettor and extends into the air inlet to the airbox without using the standard rubber adaptor. I now need another of these and I've lost the email and eBay details of the guy that was making them. Does anyonbe else have one of these or know where I can get one? I seem to remember they were about 15 quid. Thanks! Andy

Before I start pulling things apart, is there any particular order I should try to remove a GG engine from the frame to weld a bit on it? Airbox, exhaust and carb already off. Should the bolts come out in any particular order? Its 26 years old now so I don't want to do something silly and break something that I can't replace.

Quick question; I watched a Jim Snell video on changing the waterpump impeller shaft + seal and he recommends using 'red silicone grease'. So is that silicone grease? Or red rubber grease? Anybody know?
