Is it possible to tell the age of a Gas Gas from the engine number?

I am breaking a 2007 Gas Gas Pro 125 engine for spares. I think most parts but the top end are common the the 200 Pro but I wonder if anyone knows are any other parts common to other models? Apart from wanting to get the best offer when I auction them, I was to be sure to reach people who may be struggling to find these bits.

A general question really for many bike variants. Sometimes the pots in the caliper don't move outwards at the same rate. Obviously its either muck or dry seals etc that's causing friction.I can work them free using little clamps on opposing pots but once done what oil if any would you try to use on the seal area?

Bike is a 2018 TXT 300 pro and I ride closer to sea level 90% of the time. I'm on my fourth tank of fuel and used up most of some leftover Motul 710 2t mixed at the manual recommended 67:1. Seemed to run great without excessive smoke other than a bit a pig to start compared to any other bike I've owned(plan to try a few recommended tactics) Considering trying Motorex Cross power 2T or Maxima K2 next which are readily available in the area. Motul 800 would likely be overkill and has a much higher flashpoint. Not sure about stretching Motul 710 to 80:1 which sounds lean on oil. This is my 1st trials bike so guess before i go crazy ill ask here. 2002 txt pro AJP front brake caliper and master. Caliper is rebuilt all pistons coming out evenly and release correctly. Brakes were reverse bleed with a syringe with no issues. My question and what im not sure about is how are trials brakes supposed to feel? I know the clutch is totally different but what about the front brake? Seem like there is a lot more movement before it locks which seems to be about 1.25" before the grip.. Brakes are good but the lever has a lot more movement than a enduro bike.

Hello, I have the following issue, my front and rear rims are cracked on multiple spots. So decided to buy new ones. Unfortunately in Bulgaria we have only one diller that is selling parts for trials bikes and he was unable to find rims for my bike. So my question is is the rims from newer gas gas bikes fit on my txt pro 250cc 2003 and if they are interchangeable from which year gas gas should i buy new ones. Apology's if there is already similar topic but I was not able to find it. thank you!

Factory replica 14. Lad dropped my bike on gearlever and stopped bike straight away. No strange noises. It now has a gear lever that moves up and down with no restriction. The kickstart is also tight. I've took head off piston and barrel fine. I was thinking some of gear shaft broken and jammed it up some how. Any advice very welcome

Hi guys, new to trails bikes and new to trailscentral so I will be popping up often asking lots of questions, I have just purchased a 1998 tx320, not in bad condition but needs the basic maintenance, pulled the dellorto carby down, jetting is as follows Main jet 122 Pilot jet 50 Needle x18 clip 1 Slide 45 Can anybody confirm this is the factory jetting

I've fitted the new, inbuilt seal, main bearings into the crank cases and they fitted in no problem by freezing the bearings and heating the cases. My question is how do I fit the crank in the rh case without damaging the o ring type seal inbuilt to the inner race? I can't help thinking that the splines will rip or cut these as I push the crank through. Wrapping the spines with tape did not work as there does not seem to be enough clearance. Perhaps this seal does not matter on the RH side because the main seal will do a good enough job? It's a real shame that Jim's videos covering the pro have all disappeared. Hi. I am trying to improve the clutch I’m my sons 2012 txt pro. I have measured the clutch plate pack thickness and it is within spec. So I am going to replace the master cylinder and seals in the slave. Can anyone confirm that I need a mineral fluid master cylinder and seals. also if I have the thicker metal clutch cover gasket would this make a difference in clutch operation. ( being thicker than the paper gaskets) thanks in advance.

Just fitting a piston on a gasgas pro250 2006 and it looks like the little end could slide around 5mm either side on the pin out the rod when complete. Is that right, what stops it moving.

Some quick questions from a first time GasGas owner (2020 GP 300). What 2T oil do you run and how much in 5 litres? What gearbox oil do you use. The book recommends Motorex but it seems quite expensive and hard to come by. What's the best plug to use in the UK? I think it comes with a BPR5ES as standard. Has anyone used one of the iridium plugs? I've been told that any 300 GP that comes through JSM (this one did originally) gets a low compression head insert and re-jetted. Can anyone back this up? I've asked Shirtys but they haven't got back to me yet. Anything else that you know they do to the bikes from standard. How does the low compress…

Hi, I've just bought a second hand GasGas (2020 GP 300) and want to remove the front light to put a number board on. I don't have a wiring diagram so I wanted any advice on how easy it is to remove safely without impacting any of the other electricals. Thanks Kirk
