Hope that worked.... She's running, but needs the rear brake connected, a seat, air filter/box, and chain fitted. Back wheel really needs re-spoked, but that can wait until next month. The exhaust is more or less touching the back wheel however, so will have to put a spacer between it and the frame to give me some clearance. Threads on the rear wheel spindle and swing arm spindle don't match the nuts I've got. was hoping to have a drive round the yard at the weekend, but looks like it'll have to wait.

Hi folks,i'm new to this forum,i have a 1973 sherpa 250,i also have a BSA B25 in bits, what i need to know is can i swap the bultaco engine for a B25 engine.I rebuilt the sherpa engine twice first time fitted a Sammy Miller crank rebuild kit, this lasted 773 miles, then got my brother to machine an exact replica heat treated properly. Low down engine speed is fine but on the road the engine seems to 4 stroke i have the original exhaust pipe (fisrt long & second triangluar)fitted,or is there a way to make the sherpa run smoothly???. Any help will be appreciated. Yours ARTY

Hi all, When I bought my Sherpa 199A the rear mudguard was missing & I have bought a pair of new Goneli plastic mudguards. Could someone be as kind as to measure the distance from the bottom edge of the rear mudguard (where it meets the airbox) around the inside radius of the mudguard to the first mounting hole so I can fix the guard in the correct position. Regards Dave.

  9. Just aquired a model 80 which i confess i dont know much about but it's clean enough so any piccys of what one should look like? In my ignorance i assumed it would have a slimline tank and seat but err it hasnt. On a totally different subject you all know what i'm like and if i decide to use it, doubtful but still possible, what mods should i do? Dont really fancy choping the frame but just wondered if anybody had any ideas that arent irreversable?

Hi all, I'm new to the forum and just starting a ground-up restoration of my Sherpa T 199. I was wondering if someone can help me identify the shocks on the bike as they are rebuildable and I would like to fit a new seal kit to them after painting/chroming. I've attached a photo of one. Regards Dave.

Hi all, I've got a big push on to get the bike finished before my holidays, want to get it moving and stopping under its own power before I spend much more on it. Tried to get the front wheel mounted tonight, and noticed that with the drum snug against one fork leg, there must be a spacer of some sort at the other side? I have worked out which spindle of the 4 I have is the correct item, but I assume I am missing a "top-hat" spacer that goes from the face of the bearing to the fork leg on the side without the brake drum? Does that sound right? I appreciate a picture would help, but I never think of taking one to the garage until its too late...

Here's a question, just out of curiosity. In the 325 Sherpa barrel there are two slots at the rear, either side of the inlet port, that run vertically. There are two corresponding holes in the top of the piston. I've also seen these on 349 Montesa barrels and on the Aprilia Hiro barrel, although the Armstrong Hiro barrel doesn't have them. As they aren't higher than the top of the piston, any fuel mixture that gets pushed up inside the piston on its downward stroke and goes through the holes in the top of the piston and into the slots, doesn't actually have anywhere else to go. The slots remain covered by the piston. So, anyone know what purpopse they serve? Just curi…

Hy boys I was always wondering, how much better a more modern than the 40 years old Amal 627 carb would be on my M49 Bultaco. After succesfully fitting an Oko to my Honda TL 250 (ok, quite similar to the Keihin, as it is a copy, but was tricky to find out the good jettings), I did it again an bought for 80$ form ebay (Taiwan) a 24 Oko. I once read an article in todotrial, comparing Oko and Mikuni to a modern GasGas 250, main jet 120, slow 45. This is my starting point now in the 1968 M49 Bulto. Has anybody experience with an Oko and jettings on a Bultaco? Any advice is welcome, as it could be time consuming and frustrating to try & error... (On my TL 250 4 stroke …
