Not restoring. Building a resto mod rider. Trying to keep the 73 theme though. In regards to the aluminum parts, I am not 100% certain on what parts get polished. The fenders /mudguards are plastic, so those will not be polished. Currently I have polished the front and rear rims, front and rear hub ignition side cover, lower fork legs. Next will be the brake backing plates, and clutch cover. These items I am not sure about if they need polishing or a brushed type finish. Triple Clamps? Clutch and front brake levers? Lever perches? Sheet metal aluminum chain mud guard? Skidplate? Rear Sprocket? …

Hi there. The rear tyre on my OSSA MAR is a 4" Michelin and it fouls the exhaust can. Can anyone advise whether the WES silencers are 'stepped out' and would provide some more clearance or whether I'll need to make something. Ideas please folks. Thanks

I own 2014 Ossa explorer which I used it for difficult track trail riding. It has standard 10 tooth front sprocket. Do anybody know where I can get an 11 tooth front sprocket ?. Most mail order shop only stock 9 or 10 tooth. Or is it the same as some other bike brand ? Thanks

Hi, after finally finishing the rebuild and starting it up I've a problem with the clutch. At first I thought that the plates were stuck together but it's the action that's the problem. I pull in the lever and it stays there until I manually pull it back. It's a new cable, so I don't think that's the problem. Any ideas gratefully welcomed. Also the carb seems to be in need of adjustment. There only seems to be one screw that I can see, it's on the l/h side of the carb but I thought that it was the idle adjustment. The bike starts fine but if I stop it and try to re start it won't unless I remove the plug and clean it. Help!!!

I've got an Ossa MAR with a lovely alloy tank which has been little used. I bought it about 10 years ago completely disassembled (everything including the engine, gearbox, rims and spokes - everything to it's last component). I put it together very carefully and had everything either polished, powdercoated and replaced with stainless. I don't remember much of the detail, but am now trying to get it finished. The engine is installed in the frame but moving the gear lever up or down does not select a gear and does not seem to engage with anything. Two questions: Am I going to have to take it all to pieces to get at the gear selectors and Contrary to my exp…

I don't now recall who was having some odd running issues, but thought I'd post this idea up for anyone now or future. My 2014 Explorer (same as trials with added subframe, tanks, seat etc) had an off-idle 'burble' a couple of times. At around 100 hours, then again around 200 hours. A TPS adjustment/reset solved those. Normally it runs nice and clean from idle all the way to max rpm. No burbling or richness. A few months ago it started again, and nothing seemed to solve it in the 'usual' areas. But I had never taken the main ECU connector apart. All the other connectors on the bike were well sealed and looked good, and the one time I tried it didn't…

Hi All, I've always liked how the ossa TR280 rides after a brief ride on one last year , and have had my eye out for a good second hand one to purchase. But after whats happened and reading the posts on "Kokusan Denki No More" What are peoples genuine opinions on taking the plunge and buying one ? ie. For's.....You could probably get a good one now for reasonable money ? Against.....Getting it repaired (spares) problems ? Thanks For your opinions.......Craig.

After rebuilding my mk 2, except the engine, I've finally kicked it up!!!! Can't believe it started after the 3rd kick. My only concern is that the clutch isn't working. The lever pulls in but stays there, are the plates stuck or is it something else?? I haven't tried putting it in gear yet as the tank isn't connected yet and it runs out of fuel pretty quick seeing as I'm only filling the carb. The bike has stood for over 3 years but ran lovely before I attacked it!!

Hi all I've been restoring my TR77 for 18 months after it sat in bits for 16 years. On completion it had a huge fat blue spark and started brilliantly many many times whilst I was finishing it off. Got it road registered and went for a test ride. After 12 miles of the engine running smooth as... it suddenly stopped. Problem, no spark at all. So, is there a guide anywhere of what to check, what values to expect etc? I My Clymer manual tells me that it is an electronic ignition model, but the new points and condensor I fitted suggests otherwise! I have a good meter, and understand the ignition system, but have no data or values to check against. Yes I have checked t…

I've noticed over the last few weeks my bike seems to have a strange whine when ridden, but only in second gear in all the other gears its fine. Its now got to the point where other people can hear it as I'm riding, the bike its self is riding ok. I'm going to try get a video of it as well I've just been and started the bike to try and get a video of it running in second gear on the workshop stand in the garage and it isnt making the whine so it must be doing it under load
