trialsrider46, I'm a little younger ( not by much ) and I should ride the intermediate line but I ride the novice line at our TS events. Why? Because I like to meet the other riders, to have a chance at practicing on new ground. I know that kind of pis… of the other riders, but when they look at the result, I always finish last. I mark 5 at every sections before I start the competition. I think you are right, some people go to win and other to compete.

Brianrch, you are right, but I would like a little slower 1st gear around trees. Do you find any difference in the 2 setting of the mapping switch ?

I just bought a 2015 ST 250 in very good condition, I had a 03 rev 250, I find the ST light and agile but a little '' nervous ''. I mostly ride the bike in the mountain, don't really enjoy competition and I am past my prime !!! I also find the gearing a little tall so here's what I think : I already change for a slow throttle, I will replace the 42t for a 44t rear sprocket to cure the low speed problem and I ordered a flywheel puller to put less advance in the timing. Also the mapping switch is on '' S '', does that really work or is it just a gadget ? Advise very welcome.

The rear, They are equiped with Morad rim but I've check 2 different site and it's the same front and rear michelin tube type. I also think it's a mistake.

I was surprise to see in the ST250 2015 specs that they use tube type tire.

I ran many bike with the shifter setup like yours shakennstirred, I notice that it is '' harder '' on the casing if you are not careful when upshifting.

I've owned a few A model and tried to replace the Teikie with a VM Mikuni. I never had the exact result I was expecting. If you change, look at the OKO, I've only read good thing about them.

I agree with faussy, and I would go the extra $ on a Yamaha piston kit, put good oil in it and sleep on it for a loooong time.
