stpauls your right in saying that there will more power to the rear wheel but you will need more throttle ( rev ) to feel the '' kick ''. at least that was my feeling with my bike.

The slow throttle and a little bigger rear sprocket are in my opinion the only mod you can make without playing with carburation

When you saw an Astro it did look shorter than the Pursang I'm surprised that the steering angle had such little difference, maybe the 19 inch front wheel also made it look shorter.

From memory they came here in Canada ( I was working at a Bultaco dealership at the time ) as racing bike only like the Pursang. I remember having read a test ride, the title was : They come sideway in the crate! They sure look good on a short track the few times I saw them.

Hi Dan
Maybe the magnet would get full off shi.. from the wear of the transmission. I don't have my Beta anymore but I follow your experimentation with great interest. Is it possible that the cam is a little too small for a 6 gear selection ?

As Bmonk said there are some parts avalable at your friendly Yamaha dealer, but I found that some dealers don't sell the parts at the '' retail '' price. Yes I ordered parts from all over the world with, most of the time, no problem. It's winter time so you have time to look around before buying.

Do you want to keep the head and tail/brake light ? I not ( as most rider ), it's a much easier job.

Mick Andrews is I would say 5'10 tall from memory and picture taken with him

I was very tempted to temper with the frame of my 250 TY a while back. Lucky for me, that was a TY and there was at the time some bare frame for sale at a very reasonable price, so I bought one and made some modification. The first one was footrest location, I'm 5'8'' ( short ) and I still like the 1 3/8 inch lower and 1 3/8 inch back. I'm not saying that it is the right location for your MAR but maybe the position I like, you would not.

I ordered a couple of pilot jet from a Yamaha dealer last year, they where cheaper than everywhere else I had look. Maybe I was lucky.

I was surprise to hear that the Motul in question was automotive oil as the dealer is not into auto., I checked the Motul site and they list the Gear 300 SAE75W90 100% synt oil as auto and moto oil, and gear oil viscosity isn't '' calculated '' the same way. That's why I asked, I'm sorry if I had some people offended by my question.

I know it's been ask about a hundred time, but the I don't have a lot of choice here. I recently bought a lightly use Sherco St 250 2015, I really like the feel of the clutch. Now I have to change the oil in the gear box, unfortunately, I don't know and can't find what is in the gearbox. I have avalable Motul Gear 300 SAE75W90 100% synt oil. Any comments on that?

The Venhill ( the one you have to assemble yourself ) as been the smoothest for me. When well lubricated along with a longer clutch '' arm '' make it a one finger thing with all the springs.
