  1. Hi all, My take at the moment on it all.............:- 1. Doug knows Raga is technically better these days. 2. Doug has the measure of Raga (and anyone else for that matter) where it counts....the Outdoor Championship. 3. Doug is realistic and knew somewhere into the '04 Indoor season, if not before, that he wouldn;t be lifting both trophies. He put his effort into preparation of the Outdoor. 4. Doug's dad is right.....Doug has the best head on any trials rider ever! 5. Raga and his team don't quite get it yet......to beat the Yorkshireman fo rthe Outddor trpht in '04 will require a a much more concentrated effort off-season at outdoor stuff...especially the wet. Sacrifice the Indoor Champs maybe? Is Raga still too young in his own head. 6. Fujinami is still up there beating Raga, the odd win, partly due to having Doug as a team mate. The team philosophy being built around Doug. 7. Either all the above or Raga and co. just had a bad day whilst Doug had a good 'un. Ian.
  2. No mystery..... there was a press release some weeks ago where Colomer stated he was only going to do selected rounds. Ian.
  3. Hi, Download PainShop from www.jasc.com and play with image re-size and save to Jpeg with compression set to about 10. Always make the camera take the biggest pictures possible, then re-size on yer PC. Does your DC10 have an ISO setting, if it does then set it to ISO400 or even ISO800. If you change the shutter speed then don't do this is fully manual mode (assuming your camera has that option) better set it to a shutter priority mode. You can also try using the flash (yes, even in daylight). On most digicams if you have press the shutter button it will tell you if it's going to under-expose etc. Ian.
  4. Me too ('99 model). Tried all different oils including Sandifiords recommended to no avail. Phoned Haven and the clutch was transformed. Ian.
  5. Well IanJ photos tell me a different story i'm affraid i dont see any waterfall. Gavin The waterfall was most certainly there, it's just not very easy to see in the pics. I was talking to the marshall at the end of that section and he even mentioned that some riders were contemplating running off a take-off rock (ramp like) to land atop the waterfall. It did look tricky for sure. Ian.
  6. Hi all, My wee gallery from the trial is online. http://www.ianjohnston.com/2004_BAC_28_03_04/ Have fun! Ian.
  7. No I'm not going to Skye. Kenny Whittakers land was just verging on my max. distance willing to travel to a trial. PS. I can just about see my hoose from the paddock...... Ian.
  8. How could he possibly mean you if you weren't even there?! Had to laugh at Andy's reply.......anyway's I meant Sandy........PS. If I go back and edit my original post to Sandy that'll really confuse this thread eh! BJ, yes I was there snooping around with my 9 year-old niece. She says she wants a bike now, and promptly asked her mum for one when we arrived home.......alas, mum had a fit! Ian.
  9. Gavin, I overheard one of your "mates" explaining to you at the ends cards "you were the first to dab going up there you know"............ahhhh!, nothing like friends to help inspire confidence! Ian.
  10. Jings!, I finally made it to a local trial......that's two in two weekends! I spotted Andy's car embedded in the mud in the car park (did you have to get a push out Andy?)....then spotted the man himself at section 1 awaiting the bikes. I took a few shots with my point and shoot.
  11. Wanna get serious then do it at fuel stops, and randomly throughout the day at section starts. Imagine "men in white coats" hanging around the starts flags at random sections pouncing on the unsuspected. And if they do find somebody who cheated then it goes public with a warning first time, life ban 2nd time. Ian.
  12. Note:- I use a standalone USB multi-type card reader...... reads anything, from any digicam! http://www.actionstar.com/cardreader_cr217a.htm 12 quid from www.scan.co.uk Ian.
  13. Me neither.......coz when you watch the SX guys doing it mid way through their head is cocked all the way back to spot the landing. His body positioning looks helluva awkward in the photo also. Nope...... Ian.
  14. Any chance you can zoom in more....I'd like to see what kind of helecopter it is........ Ian.
  15. I don't have a favourite...... (sorry for the big download!) Ian.

    315 Softer Clutch ?

Haven't tried it yet on the Mont.........will be trying weker springs within the next couple of weeks. Ian.
  17. Hi, I decided the frame polishing can wait till end of the summer........I might overhaul the engine at the same time then anyway. I'll give ProBike a call...... I haven't done a BAMCC trial in years......no plans to do so, we just have toooooo much fun on our own making our own sections etc. Ian.
  18. Hmmm, I'll look into the Hebo pegs for sure......old pegs ALWAYS make a bike look tatty!.......who sells them? I think the chrome pipe was about 50-60 quid. Ian.
  19. Hi all, My Mont is almost ready! After a 6 month lay-off to fit a new kitchen, move house then decorate the new house I finally found time to get into the garage and fettle the old girl! Aktive reed valves. Chrome down pipe. Rear suspension bearings all renewed. New back tyre. New Air filter. Oil change. .....and a good clean up! Note: Still got the footpegs to clean up/paint. She's already had a 4-pot caliper fitted up fornt, a straight pipe fitted to the silencer and the timing advanced. This old 1999 Mont is NOT short of power. PS. The chrome downpipe from Sandifords had the restrictor welded in place.....had to drill it out with a hole cutter. Ian.
  20. The 454 is a pretty compatible player by all accounts......so not sure! Ian.
  21. Hi, What's the make and model of your player? Ian.
  22. Hi all, Anybody see it?........must say, I thought the sections were great......and was Raga looking good or what! Ian.

    315 Softer Clutch ?

You can't leave plates out.......but you can do what I did with my last GasGas. I got 6 new clutch springs made slightly weaker than the stock. Clutch was lighter, and luckily it didn't slip (just!). I plan to do exactly the same with my 315. Ian.
