I had the same problem with my beamish many years ago, it turned out that the carb was worn out. Never had any problem with piston slap, in fact it was quite a sweet sounding engine

Castor based oils are as much developed as other two stroke oils!

If you use R30 the mix would be between 14:1 - 20:1. I think fouling would be a problem with a trials bike
