  2. There seems to be some misconceptions as to the personal liabilities of running a limited company in this instance. I will go and do some homework on the subject before I comment further

I wouldn't have expected that comment from you Perce but I will take your word for it
  4. Sorry Pete but I just don't get this. Like you said, you can get this cover already with the ACU's insurance as a club, But if someone gets killed due to negligence whilst the club is a limited company, then its not just a matter of paying out some compensation, it will be a court job with the directors facing a prison sentence. Whether that is still the case as a club I don't know.
  5. You're talking about insurance pay out which is different to legal duties. for example, if a rider rode in a trial that was organised by the Ltd company, and the rider was killed by riding over a ledge that wasn't properly marked. The HSE would attend and the company could be found negligent. If this was the case then the Directors would be responsible and possibly one or more of its 'employees'. If that happened to me at my company and I was found negligent, I could end up in prison so I don't see why it would be any different for a club who was Limited.
  6. As a ltd company, there will be one or more directors. A director has legal duties and being a limited company will not protect him/her if a legal claim was made if an accident was due to negligence on their companies part. If anything, I would think you would be more exposed as a limited company as you are expected to follow certain rules which you can not claim to not have knowledge of. I am a director of a mid sized company and am fully aware of my legal duties as to the safety of my employees and non-employees who I provide a service or goods to. Unless I am mistaken, I do not believe it would be any different for a club who becomes a limited company. The only real benefit is if the 'business' fails (bearing in mind the directors haven't knowingly put the company in that position to gain financial benefit) then you have nobody chasing you for the 'companies' debt. So, in summary, I don't see any benefit as a trials club shouldn't really have debt's (if any) worth worrying about.

  8. I have been thinking about the question "what has Dougie ever done for trials" and I would like to turn this question on its head.. Any parent who has an aspiring son/daughter who takes up the sport and who shows good potential is in for a tough EXPENSIVE time. Having experience with the Danby's has shown me what level of dedication is required by the parents to produce and support a good rider. I know for a fact that nearly all disposable income and spare time goes in supporting/maintaining/ traveling to events/ the bike/organizing etc etc and many parents struggle to keep up with it... and all for what? Well I don't really know to be honest. When you take all the top riders in the world who could win the WTC you could count them on one hand. To get to that level AND win once is incredible. To do it 7 times is remarkable/outstanding/amazing and any other superlatives you can think of. Respect is in order I believe! .. And for all this hard work and dedication Doug gets a working wage which is nothing like a premierships footballers for sure. So, when a rider and his/her parents have given so much, why oh why do people expect them to give even more? If all Doug has ever done is turn up at a trial, ride his bike and gone home then thats more than enough for me. Just to see him is an inspiration and thats all I feel I am entitled to take and nothing more! IMHO

    Bmw Z3

I beg to differ - There was a plaque by the car telling of its racing heritage and video footage in the background. Unless they were lying I think it raced. It certainly looked like it inside.

Oh yes we have! Makes a Veyron look like a bag 'o nails. Sadly misguided individual A GT was pretty nice 40 years ago - but it has nothing on a Veyron By the way, I am currently at The CRS/IFFE show this week at the NEC and right next to my stand has a GT40 on it which I took a pic of below on my phone

  19. Its nice to know that when WWIII comes and we are all wiped out, any computers thats left will be safe from a trojan attack In the words of Albert Einstein, "I do not know what weapons will be used for WW 3, but I do know that WW 4 will be fought with sticks and stones" P.s. 20. Gave up TMX some 6 months ago. Never really thought it was a good read. I always thought they should have made a Trials pull out which now days would probably only be 4 pages ! The article on the thumpers is pretty naff They should rename T+MX to MX-T and leave Trials to the professionals - Trials Central + YOU HAVE USED WORDS OR A PHRASE WHICH ARE NOT PERMITTED ON THIS WEBSITE. PLEASE DELETE YOUR POST/TOPIC. DO NOT TRY TO CIRCUMVENT THE FILTERS IN PLACE ON THIS WEBSITE

    Sherco 3.2

Nice to look at, good to ride but a bitch to start - not the best out there by a long shot Ahh but that was soooooo 2005 They made a mistake and they won't do it again - the next time one is seen again in the hands of the general public (Late 2007?) it will be the dogs danglies.... AND it will have an even better motor than the one its got now so no other 4T will be better! IMHO

    Sherco 3.2

Spud, Even the early 4T I had was superb in the power delivery department and having ridden the new Scorpa 4t and the stock 4RT, I still strongly believe that without doubt, its the best 4T out there engine wise. If they continue to develop it it can only get better. The Beta 4t is an unknown for me as I haven't ridden one but when you here people talk about the Bike, they mention terminology like it has good balance or its power delivery is much like a 2 stroke etc. Well firstly, the balance is to do with the bikes geometry and weight distribution which no doubt they have done a good job on. And secondly, if you want a 4 stroke to ride like a 2 stroke then buy a 2 stroke and save 1+ grand If you want a proper 4 stroke then right now it’s got to be a Sherco 4T and I don't see that changing in the foreseeable future. IMHO
