Where the hell did you get that phrase from !
In relation to TTC, I reckon if it were in the UK, it would be amongst the best trialing terrain anywhere in the country and maybe its just worth going for the liberty to ride it.!

This thing about traction and what machine is best to get best traction makes me laugh.
Steve Saunders riding an NSU quickly would get more traction than most novices do on any bike.
The main components are simply the riders ability to combine the distribution in weight with the application of the bikes power as smoothly as possible.
Some of us have it and some of us don't and most of us don't including me
To say a 4rt doesnt get grip and a Gas Gas does is just plain silly !
IMHO

The Sherco 4T looks better and sounds better and has more power and is cheaper so there
It just don't start thats all
-
It never ceases to amaze me the innate ability of a trials rider to find something either for 5p or giving it away
Why don't some of you get into government and apply the same rules with spending our Taxes!
-
That has just cheered me up after a bad week at work
I'd liked to have tried the Sherco 4T as the concept of a bigger motor with more torque is my preference. I was asked to try one at a trial when they first came out as I was on my 4RT and the dealer was interested in how I thought they compared. Unfortunately a split intake hose meant the bike wasn't available afterwards so never did get to try it.
If it grips anything like a 290, has more torque and a linear power delivery and had the starting problem resolved I think I might like one.
When I saw that comment about the split hose I thought !! Hmmm I know who you are as it stopped me having a go on it too
The 4T that you refer to was being ridden by Simon Evans if you remember and watching him ride sold it to me on the spot He was awesome on it that day ... until the intake split
He still rides it to this day although he does ride a 290 2007 as well.

Yeah, the great ol fizzie but... It werent no match for my tuned Fantic Motor Super T
This wasn't my one but its the same model. I was lucky that my brother owned a garage at the time and we done lots of work on the exhaust, gas porting , compression and jetting.. but all that gave me just 75mph with a tailwind ..
But at the time ... that was like driving Thrust 2

:agree: I loved riding the bike to bits.
I done some mods on mine mainly with carburation. Fitted a a Keihin and tweaked jetting quite a lot.
The Keihin as expected gave the bottom end a real smooth feel with effortless pulling power. But when opened up it had arm wrenching power.
The sound of it was just perfect. None of the other 4t's have anywhere near the same tonal quality !
When the second hand value gets to around a grand I will buy one again and see if I can get EFI on the thing
-
Sorry but I have to agree that the fun factor is greater on a 4 stroke, you may not ride it any better, but it will certainly make you smile
:agree: I did actually ride mine better than the 2T I had. I sold the 4T and bought a new 2t but found I didnt like it as much so packed in riding alltogther now.

Sorry but that is a pathetic analagy! In a car you are surrounded by crumple zones, air bags, seat belts ( if you wear them) and if you have an impact at 30 mph you have over a 90% chance of survival.
Let me see you ride your bike into a brick wall at 30 mph and see if your eyes arent pushed out the back of your head! People die falling off a step ladder from 4ft. Imagine falling 6ft onto some rocks straight on your head without a helmet A bit messy me thinks.
If peeps are mad enough to ride trials without helmets then its to do with pathetic macho bravado and dont try and tell me its anything else!
You tell your kids to wrap up warm when its cold outside and when they go out in a Tshirt and jeans and get the flu you say, " Well what did you expect" , well when you ride a bike without a helmet and fall off and get a granite rock embedded in your left ear lobe, you know what I'm gonna say..

So the big question is being an avid 2T fan and all that Heath, would you buy one?
-
What did you think of it then?

If you keep the bike for 2 years and lose

copied from another thread....
When discussing EFI, we only have the 4RT to base our judgment on. Please remember it’s only in its 2nd Year whereas the carburetor has been round for yonks and they can’t even stop them from p***ing out fuel.
EFI isn't even new technology, it was invented 1966 and is used on virtually all of today’s cars. It has endless possibilities for performance enhancement and fuel economy which a carburetor would never have the capability to match.
I didn’t get on with the 4RT myself but I have an open mind on the bike. Honda know a bit about EFI and if anyone is gonna get it right, they will. Just give them more than 5 minutes to do it
All 4'ts will eventually have EFI of that I'm sure and the earlier they(all manufacturers) bite the bullet and get on with it the better.

There’s something about a decent hill climb that just gets the adrenilin going! And where there’s a decent hill climb, there’s a decent crowd watching. I love em
The other thing is you can bail out and not get hurt too bad. (Unlike coming off on the rocks)
It feels great if its tough and you conquer it too Streams are ace too
-
HA HA Trust me to use that as an analogy

BMW make good cars right? heres the link to the recalls BMW Recall List
I have no doubt Beta make good quality bikes but its the first 4 stroke trials bike they have made. If they get it right first time then Kudos to them but still, it wont take long to find out if its good or not so why not wait?
Would you take a risk on buying a house without seeing it just because it was built by a reputable builder?

If it's 'owt like the Sherco 3.2 then I'll accept I made a bad move by buying one from the first batch and will no doubt have the p*** taken by you lot.
I made that mistake as you know but if I used the same process as I use with buying software it would never have happened.
First software release's are nearly always faulty and need patches to fix the faults. After about the 2nd service pack things are nearly sorted and worth giving it a go!
As an example, some peeps will rush out and buy Microslop Vista is their droves, then find compatibility problems and loads of other problems.. after 2 years and loads of patches and a few service packs, they might get something thats nearly stable and worth using. Until then keep well away !
I think trials bike development is much the same!

Went black/yellow then back to original as I'm selling it. Did look pretty mean! Shame the rider couldn't ride it as good as it looked

Alcohol induced paranoia creeping in me thinks

I know of three 07 Sherco's (not mine) and Ross's 125 Gasser and thats it !
ooops, forgot to mention Gasserboys Gasser 300?
