My co director is a scientist and I said to him once, " If you took all the scientists in the world and put them on one Island, surely there would be no religion or belief in God by definition of being scientists" He said, well you would think that but that isn't the case, you have scientists spending their whole life trying to prove the existence of God. I thought about this and came to this conclusion! Why would they think like that? and I believe its not because they believe there is a god, it is because they want to believe there is a god. I am a complete 100% non-believer but agree with dan that some aspects of religion teach good things but once they conflict, there is simply no impasse. You cant hold dual beliefs? I also wondered then if we are to believe there is a god, is that the same for all the dogs, cats and all other animals of the world? Its because we have the ability to think we can generate these thoughts.. after all, all religions are man made! IMHO

Unlikely. ICBMs are a relic of the cold war. They're big, expensive and relatively easily dealt with by modern anti-missile technologies. If you're a rogue dictator with a hard-on for smiting the capitalist pigs, MIRV is no longer your friend. It's much easier and cheaper to simply sail a boat with a couple of small nukes on board into a enemy harbour. Or wander into a city with a dirty bomb in a suitcase. That's where modern nuclear warfare is at. All this "my missle's bigger than your missile" stuff is just bull**** posturing really. Back on the subject of the game, if you call your AI opponent "joshua", they become almost impossible to beat. Wonder where that came from? Well, I wasn't actually expecting N Korea to come up with some ICBM's They are known not to have any missle delivery systems available anyway but could possibly drop some from a plane. If they can get near enough to a target that is ! Joshua !! Remember it well ..

Well Andy says I know sod all about about trials riders so when I said Grimbo would win, he laughed in my face Lets see Perce, Ross Danby is riding on a 125 so is there any stats on that please? Also, a bit of advice also if you dont mind , Is it better in your opinion to ride the sections fast as possible knowing you will drop some more dabs than usual saving time or ride the sections properly avoiding dropping points, then ride quick between sections? In my case it wasn't the forums that done it, it was just some lame ass attitudes from some people who should know better in and around trials... I got better things to do with my time the saying goes I think!

This month I quit all organisational duties with BHMCC due to some complete and utter a***holes I have come across this year. When you have been an organiser and put in hours of work before,at, and after a trial to get someone having a pop on a variety of things when they do sod all to help finally took its toll and I packed it in. I also know of a few others who feel the same and could be going the same way... You people will soon be moaning when theres no damn trials to ride because theres no mugs out there left to run them! Just give the organisers a break ...

I think its hard to knock the current set-up of the Youth A,B,C&D series as its producing some of the worlds best riders dont you think? I do think the ability thing comes in to play here though. If a youth is capable of riding 'adult' sections then they should be allowed too even for no award. The experience gained competing with the adult best of British would be invaluable. IMHO

Agree completely with these 2 comments . I had an 03 290 then an 05 4T then an 06 290 and the 06 is a lovely machine especially the new suspension set up. I have ridden all the other recent bikes but for me, the Sherco was my favourite. I even rode Barrys Beta over the Welsh hills when he hurt his finger and the difference between the 2 bikes is significant. Best thing to do is just borrow one and have an hour on it and see for yourself

Just looking back over the post's on this thread, no one has put Raga . Hes won back to back World Championships and no one rates him Weird that aint it .

I got involved with running BHMCC 2 years ago when I got back into the sport. The clubs trials had a large contingent of kids and kid/father entries – probably around 50%. Shortly after, I saw Ross Danby ride and was amazed at his skill level at such a young age. This is when I got interested in helping the kids/youths out. To see the smiles on the face of a little kid when he/she has just cleaned a section is a joy to behold. Also, at the end of trial, we have had these kids come up and say thank you and mean it, unlike the stark contrast of some of the ‘mature’ rides who do nothing but moan about it being too hard or a variety of other things I could think of hence I would rather do stuff for the kids than the adults. So, I have been giving this some thought and can think of some ways of incorporating training with financial subsidies which would help out. In relation to training we have the following requirement I believe :- [1] The kids who may be able to get to Youth Expert at club level [2] The kids who are doing national rounds [3] The kids who are excelling doing national rounds, and finishing in the top half a dozen [4] The lads/lasses who are currently doing European/WTC rounds and finishing in the top half a dozen Level one could be done at club level with the help of the clubs good experts if they were willing but needs the clubs to organise it. This may be too much to add to the current huge workload as I know from experience but just a suggestion. ACU assistance could be provided by subsidising the youth entry to a trial AT CLUB LEVEL. Father & son/daughter entries get expensive especially when there are 2 kids or more and restricts the intake. Our club subsidises the second/third/fourth youth by

Thats when the observer should use the rules under his/her power to ask a rider to attempt the section. It would sort that problem straight away IMHO.

Alan, Unfortunately due to excessive work commitments, Lee & I will not be coming this year to do videos and photos as last year . I hope someone else will take on the job as it was a great event and well worth the trip. The indoor event was a superb effort which will no doubt be better this year. Regards Ian
