  1. Thats when the observer should use the rules under his/her power to ask a rider to attempt the section. It would sort that problem straight away IMHO.
  2. Just took some of these pics from a power point presentation I was sent.
  3. Alan, Unfortunately due to excessive work commitments, Lee & I will not be coming this year to do videos and photos as last year . I hope someone else will take on the job as it was a great event and well worth the trip. The indoor event was a superb effort which will no doubt be better this year. Regards Ian
  4. Whilst John Collins was explaining how the ACU coffers are spent in This thread, he suggested pulling this off into another thread. I made the below comment
  5. Whilst were on this subject and picking up on what Betarev3 said, wouldn't it be possible to have 2 registration cards of different colours. one of the normal orange at the said tenner and one in another colour for say
  6. I dont think you will get anyone dis-agreeing with you on that one
  7. Well done to Sam Haslam who looks like he put in a superb ride Looking at the Youth scores , Well done to Wiggy and of course Ross coming second. I cant remember ever seeing him drop that many so it must have been very very tough!
  8. Just picked up this comment from a previous post about 'cheating' in a Youth A&B event .... I dont condone cheating of any description but you can see why this comment above is an issue. Nowadays there are a fair few of British youth riders riding under FIM rules in Europe and World events and then having to switch when in the UK. I am not arguing for or against FIM rules in this post, but would just like to hear the ACU's view on this subject please?
  9. An excellent insight into the workings of the ACU and thank you for taking the time to compile and post it.

I guessed at 3 months but thinking now about its condition, It may be a lot newer. The guy riding it was 'trying it out' from his mate who couldn't get on with it but I got the impression he had had it for a while.

Hi DG The bike I rode had been ridden for around 3 Months by its owner I believe. Also, the bike hadn't been fettled with from its stock setup. I really wanted to like the bike as I'm a fan of 4 stroke engines but I was very dissapointed.. but you may absolutely love yours so good luck p.s .. it still sounds naff
  12. Nice to see you on the mend Daz 2 days in intensive care must have been a worry for you .. and that was just the bike

I had my first ride on one this weekend. After the trial I went back to ride some of the sections I had ridden earlier and my experience was I really didn't take to it at all.. Maybe there was a problem with the one I rode but these were the things I found: The clutch had like a mild drag to it. When holding on the clutch then releasing there was a delayed bite. Not instant like the Sherco or the Gasser. There wasn't a big speed range through the gears. Riding in first then hitting the speed it seemed to give the feeling of running out of steam quite quickly with the power noticibly dropping away at the top end of the rev range. I found it easy to stall at slow speed with the clutch out. I dont care what anyone says.. it sounds naff. Period! very flat sound with no 4 stroke grunty bark I had a sherco 4T for about 5 months and in comparison and in my humble opinion, the (fixed)Sherco is still a way better bike.
  15. Heres the pics that Fellonmelug had trouble posting. Thanks for sending them to me

  18. I for one am certainly looking forward to seeing him use his 'modern' back wheel riding style on a 4RT. There is another theory! Honda could of snapped him up because they see him, rather than Raga as the most serious threat to them winning the title next year. His Beta was certainly a very capable machine.

  20. When you click on the reply button it puts the information at the top of your box as you would have no doubt noticed. In this post, you will see quote name='steveo' date='Sep 25 2006, 11:02 PM' post='94951' (inside brackets []). This tells the forum software that this is the start of the quote.... You can then cut out the text you dont want then at the end you will then need to put the end of quote tag /quote (inside brackets []) Not many people know this but when doing it like this, you will notice a little squirly return arrow on the quote box. If you click on this it takes you back to the original post it was taken from. If you just want to do a normal quote then clicking on this image at the top of the text box will put in the quote start tag. Then when you have finished typing/pasting in the text, click on it again and it will put in the end of quote tag. Hope this helps
  21. I was thinking that the post was more like sardonic rhetoric as opposed to a descriptive retort
  22. Firstly, I am not proposing that it "can be put right" by an online forum but I do strongly believe that if managed correctly, it can be very productive. As mentioned earlier, the current understanding by the comments I have read is most of trials is in good shape in this country so if thats the case then there shouldn't be too much to do?In relation to Elitist, Andy has suggested that the forum be open for viewing to all but only selected individuals should be able to post. My criteria for this would be ACU,Importers, people who run clubs, and a few other slected individuals who could be your average rider and could offer some positive contribution. Now as I will not be running a club next year, I don't fit into the people who run clubs so its probably likely that I wont be part of it anyway.. but I will pass my views/proposals/ideas through the person who is representing the centre. Either way, I want it to be a success and will do whats necessary to achieve that.
