That spec is pretty impressive . Fat bars and billet yokes are impressive additions as standard. Many nice touches. Like it.
I really dont like the graphics - they are grotesque
these look better IMHO

There are many that think trials is ok as it is. Thats fine, but this thread is about where it goes in the future.
It simply cant stand still and survive I believe.
I went to an ACU midlands centre committee meeting a few months back and the average age of the people must have been in the high 50's. Whilst there are some young lads helping out setting trials etc, there aren't many doing the 'running' of the club if any ? ( maybe be rabie and one other )
So where are these people going to come from to keep it going? I myself got back into it last year after a 20 year break and have been fortunate to be in the position to help out a bit but not everyone is in that position or even wants the hassle of it all.
Can you see the current set of youths coming back to run clubs in the future? maybe or maybe not but will trials still be going in 20 years time?

Bold move but good choice of team in my humble opinion The very best of luck
Nice to see Maria Conway riding again too
-
This is what Ross done in Spain but it was from a 8ft drop off - not what you would find in a local trial
-
Alas, the hooligan element
-
Wild Idea - There probably is a market for it as well and I could see it working but it would add another discipline and not be a replacement for outdoors.
Outdoor / Indoor / Extreme - sounds good to me
-
This is something suggested a few times and its starting to sink in that its worth some serious consideration I believe. Anyone knows from club level that some good riders seem to get grip when others can't. Its certainly a fantastic skill/ability to have and the sections dont need to be silly either. It would certainly bring a few more current riders into the world rounds wouldn't it?
Doing this would certainly make a big distinction from outdoor and indoor unlike what we are seeing now with the outdoor become more like the indoor.

Your points theused are typical of the general comments being made like "Something has to be done" so many people sympathise with your viewpoint but the question is what can/should be done?
Keeping on the original theme of this post, lets have some solid suggestions ?
-
Hmmmm, if only that were true Linky from 2001

No, not at all. I'm just throwing in ideas in the hope that one of them might lead to something!
This forum has 2500 members and whilst its easy for someone to come up with a reason why this (or other ideas) wont work, I dont see many coming up with ways on how it can be made to work simply because forward thinking ideas get someone having a knock.
No wonder the sport is stuck in the 20th century!
The Dabster makes a good point on keeping youngsters in the sport. I would suggest that when the upcoming stars get to the stage when they have hit a wall and cant get where they want, they (and the parents) get a reality check and decide the money may be better spent elsewhere. Then for a 18 - 20 year old, other priorities may come into play! What will happen I suggest is what happens to a lot of us. We come back into the sport at a later date and then some of us mugs get involved in running clubs etc and it all keeps going. When the guys running clubs dry up then thats it.

Never say Never !
Firstly, I think it needs something different as I have said before for TV. Could be something completely different to what we watch at outdoors for example.
In the Indoor at Sheffield this year, whilst there was loads of 'traditional' awesome trials riding taking place, the talking point was when Bou rode the barrels on the back wheel at speed beating Raga in the ride off.
Think about this for a minute. What did that moment display?
[1] Tremedous skill & ability
[2] 1 V 1 Race conditions
[3] Speed
[4] Excitement
What about an event based on a dual course with 2 identical man made sections where riders ride off against the clock. Footing gives time penalties only.
It would certainly provide the above 4 things and maybe enough to draw a wider audience.
Also, I would suggest that the governing body sets aside a percentage of any future income to invest into the grass roots.
-
Televising trials whether its in the current form or 'developed' for TV viewing doesn't need more people on the ground at events to make it work. Income from TV rights would help fill the coffers albeit a small amount at first. It needs someone with a bit of dosh to take a gamble on the sport and see how it goes.
Also, my wife said to me at Hawkstone that she was suprised that with all the guys riding round in Lycra, there wasn't a big Gay following for the sport . I said there is, just go over into that fenced off tent in the far corner of that field over there

Very well done Pat & Cody. You have arrived
-
Thats pretty high scoring for the winner
Looks like sections 10 & 11 were virtually impossible for these guys. What was Patrick riding. 125 or 290?
Either way, well done Pat. Great result
Any pictures from the event or better still some video?
-
I think I know him sorta pretty well so I'm going with Porno Film Director!!
-
Where's your bid then Andy ?
-
25 divided by 3 = 8.33r
So each guy actually contributes
-
Results A Class
1st Ross Danby 31
2nd Jack Challoner 41
3rd Alexz Wigg 54
Jonathon Richardson won B Class
Ben Morphett 2nd
Not sure of scores.
Thanks for the clarification Adsy
Great ride Ross. I wished I had been there to see that.
Well done to Jack as well. Its rare to see Alexz pushed to 3rd place.
-
Thats nasty.... I Like it!!!
-
You and many others as well I think including me.
But the thing is, that guy does that everyday for his son not just the one event we see in the video.
Respect
-
I might be wrong but I think its Ross Danby First, JC second and AW Third
-
haha - Not seen any of Barry but he definately has the potential as YouTube material

What a load of bollox Papa, every club in the USA can run it's event's just how ever they see fit.
If they want to run a national round, then yes! they do have to run it to the rules and regulations of the governing body, no different than the FIM or ACU.
As for saying no membership voice of the AMA, every person attending the NATC agm meeting will more likely than not, be an AMA member.
As Lane keeps posting all this ****, you must keep in mind he has been caring this grudge for thirty + years, and going to make sure you hear about it for the next 30 years, very sick, yes hits might jump on the site while people get a kick out of the forum for a while, but eventually site sponsors will start walking away has he will say anything about anyone.
One thing that does bother me though, If it was a English chap writing the same **** about the British champ riders or importers, or other people working hard for the sport, they would soon be ousted, Is the TC administration slipping, do we have a double standard here?
Well the simple fact of life is $$ talk's, and I would think Lanes, and is world would soon be kicked into touch when it starts effecting site sponsorship.
Its a free world and anyone can voice an opinion just like you just have if you dont like what he says! (Although I would kindly ask for it not to get personal). The people posting will make their comments and views heard I am sure.
With respect to the UK scene, many of us are pretty vocal on our dislikes with the way it is in the UK but again others can and do give their opposing views . Is that not the whole point of a discussion forum like this?

YouTube is full of idiots like this! And humans are meant to be an intelligent life form .. maybe if you compare them with the basic brain power of a goldfish they are !
