A standard trial consisting of 10 sections would mean you would have to give up 1 in 5 trials (if there were say 50 riders on average of course). The trouble is that means that only 40 riders would be riding as 10 were observing and thats 20% lost income to the club. What club could afford losing 20% of its income? And furthermore, as a CoC myself, I want as many people as possible to ride the sections I laid out to make the job worthwhile. Therefore, ideally you need a system that allows all riders to ride at every event who turn up I feel, so lets keep expanding ideas on this front one idea I have toted before is the use of tally counters like this below: Riders could be grouped in teams of 2 riders on a random 'name out of the hat' basis and be responsible for scoring the other rider. Another idea would be to have a punch card for the other rider on your bike and you punch it accordingly and he does one for you. yes theres a possibility of cheating but it wont be long before the cheaters are found out. I will keep thinking of ideas on this one

Took a set of original graphics and my wife patiently cut away the blue section with a scapel. Vasectomy's she can do for a fiver I have moved on a bit from this pic though. The plan is to have some new graphics made at BUKU but still have everything completely black. I have had a lot of positive comments from peeps at trials . They either say 'well its very errrrr Black" or " It looks awesome "

Well, theres pros and cons with everything but I would think that having a memory of riding in a European round or even a World round in another country would be a far greater memory than winning a trophy. All you need for the memory is look at the entry sheet But I cant see a reason why financial gifts can't be given instead of trophies?

As I have already found out through a previous thread, a majority of peeps on here don't want to pay any money towards youth development so instead of collecting trophies etc, could they not receive money to help them finance their fledging careers. Or fuel tokens or something along those lines. Anything that will help ease the cost to the families? what do you think?

I cant understand why you want to have a go at enduro Gaz? surely your too old. The bits and pieces in your body take too long to mend when you break them at your age matey and thats the point? why would peeps who now have careers and families want to risk the injuries when they are at an age when they can ill afford it?

A possible suggestion to combat observer abuse is for each centre to hold a register of offenders. If one rider causes trouble at a trial , the CoC can put in a 'yellow card' for the rider . One more and they get a 'red card' which would result in being banned from all centre trials for a month. Just an idea

I was just thinking that of late in our neck of the woods, the common theme of discussion in the paddocks is Enduro. Some riders have already switched and some are considering it. The events are well managed and subscribed to . They do appear to be more costly to enter but it doesn't put people off. So , the question is, is anyone else noticing an exodus from trials to enduro?

You are correct, how DO you make it to Spain to practice? Well, I'm considering a trials holiday to the TTC in Sequatchie - So I presume you guys do the same in reverse. Another idea is like I have already suggested, put them up over there at the TTC for a trials holiday then learn from them. Dates are a problem with that so we would need to look at calendars but it should be possible. I have already offered to get Ross out there but one or two of the other top ones may want to go as well.
