  1. You have answered your own question. Its simply the ratio of the image. If you want it to fit retaining its original ratio then you will have to crop the wider side (in Photoshop or something similar)

    Cool Trick

Ok, its a piece of JS code that manipulates images on the page you are viewing. It works in IE , Firefox & Opera (edit after checking) java script:R=0; x1=.1; y1=.05; x2=.25; y2=.24; x3=1.6; y3=.24; x4=300; y4=200; x5=300; y5=200; DI=document.getElementsByTagName("img"); DIL=DI.length; function A(){for(i=0; i-DIL; i++){DIS=DI[ i ].style; DIS.position='absolute'; DIS.left=(Math.sin(R*x1+i*x2+x3)*x4+x5)+"px"; DIS.top=(Math.cos(R*y1+i*y2+y3)*y4+y5)+"px"}R++}setInterval('A()',5); void(0); Type in http://www.youtube.com and copy and paste the code above and watch the images move around the screen ! (make sure you edit java script into one word removing the space as Felix said above)

  9. Out of interest, is one of the reasons that people aren't signing up because of the hassle of signing up using the online form? I know these forms can be quite a pain for some. Would some of you prefer if we supplied a PO BOX no. address and you guys just sent a cheque in the post?
  10. Thats great John. Many thanks for that.
  11. Big John, as a matter of interest, do you know the history of the Pinhard Trophy (how it came about) and what it means to win it please?

  15. I must of been stood right next to you as that looks like the practice day and he was just getting in position to go up that step in the background. Am I right?
  16. Why is it that you buy a carb from the manufacturer who has been doing this for years and then have to modify them. Would you buy a BMW then start drilling holes in the EFI to get it to work right? I had the same problem with the Dellorto VHST on the Sherco 4T Seems to me we accept poor equipment in trials far too easy?
  17. Just use the img tags only putting the URL link between them. You dont need to put the URL tags as well Pete so it should look like [ img ]http://www.myimage.com/bike.jpg[ /img ] ( but I have modified this example with spaces to fool the forum software )
  18. When you post a comment you have the option to upload images. Well when you do this, these images are stored on Andy's server and therefore take up room which he has to back up. If you use photobucket then the image is stored on their server and you just add a link to it in your post, therefore there is no extra work to do backing it up for Andy and life is simple.

  20. Hey Pete, Don't you take time out for xmas like everyone else then ? I know where your coming from on this Pete but at club level, no one really wants the hassle of doing this I think. All they want is the trial to be covered by insurance and then away we go. You are one of the rare local club organisers who have experience in H&S and can implement it, but for the most part, organisers just haven't got the time to do a full RA, even a generic one handed out to them, and then more importantly implement it. As you know, once you have a formal system in place then in the event of an accident, the analysis will be on the implementation, training, and actions taken by the organisers. If they haven't allowed for something in their assessment or haven't followed their procedures correctly, then even worse, been found to be negligent, then they can be legally challenged in court as an organiser. They can of course be challenged now but you don’t see that at the moment as when accidents happen, people just take it as 'par for the course' but that will change in future as more people become aware. For example, a classic accident at trials is when collisions happen whilst there is two way traffic. I attended a trial last year where the organiser took this very seriously and put stakes in and tape between the two way traffic and this covered approximately 1/2 mile in total over the whole trial. Now that must have taken ages to do and put away after. Another one is a collision with a spectator on a designated route. Having designated walkways separated from the contestants etc.. . The list is endless.. This is one of the reasons I packed up organising.. I just don’t want the hassle of all this work on top of the normal duties of running a club and if this goes this way then more people will do the same I am sure. Now this is surely what we don't want to happen. Any more burden on the organisers will kill the sport I am sure. Having many years experience in H&S I would have said, yes lets get all these things in place but I think in the case of Trials , it needs a completely different approach. I do have some views on this but I am keen to see what other people's views are before I put them forward
