  1. I Have a 2013 250 and the Clutch master cylinder seals / O Rings are worn out - this was from new, I do not know what kit to buy to replace them with as there seems to be 2 sizes 9mm and 9.5mm. Maybe The Splatt Shop can help me. I am really dissaapointed in the quality of Formula, as the Front brake seized on with faulty seals and now the clutch has these issues. I have bled the system, taken it bake to the dealer (He is excellent, and a great help), but I need to get this fixed. Much prefered the old system on earlier Shercos, lighter and bette Any help with the correct seal kit size would be appreciated
  2. I have a new 2013 250 and it is excellent, really great bike, but after having a 2011 Sherco 250 and two very light clutch action OSSA'a the new model clutch pull is the heaviest I have ever felt. Clutch take up is excellent with no grab or creep just very heavy on the hands Question - Can the Formula clutch be lightened off need help with this please
  3. Can anyone tell me where I find the information on how to adjust the levers on the new Formula clutch and brake. I know about the thumb screw but the plunger also has adjustment and a grub screw. By the way do love the bike (250) thank you Mark
  4. can you get a 200cc kit for the new model- 2013 - Sherco 125. I am contemplating going down in size as the bigger engined bikes are just too much but I really don't want to rev a bike much and feel the 200cc would be ideal. I only ride clubman level my current bike is a new 2013 OSSA 280i (my third) but they are now getting just too powerful So your comments and assistance would be really appreciated
  5. Come on The service in Australia is not that bad, the new 2013 models have only just arrived in Australia within the last 2 weeks, I just went and had a look, 25 bikes. It is a bloody long way by ship from Spain to Australia., and yes sometimes the dealer gets caught out with parts, but complainig that he has no 2013 parts to upgrade the 2012 bike is a bit unfair. Yes complain if you get poor service, but did you offer to pay airfreight and have the upgrade parts delivered and not wait until the next shipment arrives. I am not defending importers/distributors but give them a break, they make bugger all out of trials bikes, with it being such a small market and most do it to the best of their financial ability.
  6. YES,,,,YES bloody fantastic

    Rear Brake

I am having issues with the rear brake locking on. After about 2 hours of intermittant riding my rear brake stays on. The lever is very tight and the brake is on, as if something is jammed on . It appears that there is something wrong in the master cylinderr as the lever and ball joint do not appear to be against the frame. any ideas please??
  9. Looks true Will make the Gas Gas/Ossa brand pretty big Will be interesting to see how the marketing and sales structures work out. Given that at present they are both compete in the same market space and both with pretty good product. Looks a win/win for Gas Gas and stabilty for OSSA
  10. Good question - a good capacitor with a small unit to supply a new charge should suffuce or are they only good for 1 time or just to smooth out a voltage flow - this may help understand why the OSSAs were like they were with starting

    How Is It

Nelly1 you only asked for advice - not attacks, and OSSA owners replied in the positive, but please go ride one,, if you like it then get one. The are many, many OSSA owners that will help you, they are a fantastic bike, and the way forward, But you need to ride it and see if you like it. All bikes come down to personal preference.
  12. Deon excellent news - I think that you have given the best technical explanation as to why the bike takes sometimes many prods to fire into life. Maybe OSSA are trying to get the LSS, very robust and small (light weight) plus be able to be charged on the bike. This may be slowing down the release of it. Sounds though as this may have sloved your porblem as the OSSA is really a great bike to own and ride. Thanks you for the feedback - All OSSA owners will appreciate this information

    How Is It

2 year warranty - fully supported by the importer and manufacturer, free map upgrades, a real "Owners Unity" and knowing that we are at the pointy end of technology. I do not bag other bikes,, nor makers, that would be easy Yes, there are quality control issues with all the makers Starting issues - in General NO. Early 2011 bikes you needed to be a bull elephant to fire them up. Will I get the LSS - NO , do not need it and I am 59 years old and old 70kgs

    How Is It

Nigel, - where do you get your information??????? I have had 2 OSSA's no mechanical issues, never heard a gearbox failure- assuming that you think that OSSA gearboxes fall apart!! At the Aussie Round of the worlds - ALL BRANDS ran well, and looked great,,, and all were extensively serviced,, including clutches, gearboxes, forks etc, etc, all bikes had their moments good and bad, Brand is down to personal preference. But you do put some well constructed threads in here, keep it up - Cheers
  15. Deon Just a thought. The Fuel may be causing an issue. I was having plug fouling (black, gooey mess on the plug - Iridium ) and the bike runnig really rough off the bottom. I was using unleaded, 95ron, but have now gone to 100 RON at 110:1 mix, also changed to Belray 75W oil. Difference was noticable almost immediatly, fouling almost gone, bike runs cleaner, clutch engagement is really good (half way out not all the way) and clutch drag is better at cold. This may help Mark
  16. That is good news, for both Greeves Trials bikes and also trials in general. Good luck Richard, The Trails world needs manufacturers, you worked hard, with little support and money, I hope you succeed and hope your bikes make it to Australia one day
  17. Great photos , you must come visit the Trials Club of Canberra (ACT, Australia) one day, and come riding with us. We will get an OSSA demonstrator for you to ride
  18. No, Mine has kicked back twice now in the last 2 weeks (Map 13) when just pushing through to get the lever to the high position (priming) kick back was about as bad as an 20cc bike, pretty lame
  19. Hi Dean The LSS should be a priority from OSSA, I think that Montesa use a capacitor to assist the spark at the kick start. firing up the beast does need you to have the bike on the stand or at least you being on the pegs. I think that OSSA should keep the maps coming and also take in all this feed back, AND give us a snap fit air cleaner (twist and lock - from the top), go to Allen screws and banish the torx screws, have a centre removal panel to get at the spark plug, better oil change procedure. I am sure that other OSSA owners could think of a few little items that would make servicing and owning them easier and FUN Also wonder if a clubman should be allowed to get the "Factory R" bike - would really like the LSS and dual map - could always put a low compression head on it with slow action throttle - ultimate tractor for a clubman rider!!!!
  20. Wow I am 59 years old, weigh 71kgs, have a bad right ankle from a fall on a bike 2 years ago and also,, I have my left hand with only about 60% use of my fingers, due to an injury many years ago. All I can say about the clutch and starting problems, what problems. My clutch is almost as light at the 2011 Sherco 250 I had, (but a little bit less on/off). Have noticed that some off the OSSAs have a heavier pull, but for what I have seen get better in time. Starting issues, My 2012 OSSA kicks over no different than any other bike I have seen, just a different technique, Get on the pegs, get the lever to the top and push fast and down/back, no throttle. It may take 3-6 kicks at times. I gave my bike to a friend (very good B grade rider) to test ride, he has a Beta 300 2011 and fired my bike up first kick, he commented on how easy all the OSSA's are to start,,,,, not my words his. I have issues with my bike, such as Map 13 seems to foul plugs with my style of pottering,,,,, but I do talk to the importer/dealer and we work through any issues, Just liike any bike and manufacturer. Yes OSSA's are different, , fuel injection, Fuel tank infront of radiator, backward engine , (horrid air cleaner position - takes longer to change plugs than other bikes)etc, etc. But they are as good as any bike on the market, with some vert, very good points, and with some areas that the manufacturer will need to continually work on. The 2012 model is much improved on the 2011 model - now has a side stand for starters. OSSA continually brings out new maps, but we do not have to blindly change to that map with the thought that all issues are "fixed". I have a friend (A grade) who has a 2011 model map 11 and will not change - loves the way it performs. LSS and dual maps will be great as an option and I will look forward to that, just like I would like to seen OSSA, have a snap change air cleaner and side stand that stays on the bike Regards everyone, and have fun riding (hope I have not offended)

    Best Ossa Mapping?

New map out with Dual - mud and fast. So do we assume that all the dealers have the dual stage switches as well?? hope so
  22. (I have a 2012 OSSA) Also there is another new map out, MAP14??, but dual setting so that would mean that we can get the dual stage switch as well. Must admit, not really impressed with map 13, I initially thought it better than map 11, but really fouls the plug and hesitates off the bottom (plug BPR5EIX-11) . I am only a clubman rider so I potter around a fair bit, . I try to do a bit of high speed 6th gear clean out, but given the areas we have to ride that is not so easy. I may go back to map 11, Starting is not really a problem, but the bike does have a mind of its own sometimes 4-6 kicks sometimes 1 -2. Looks like Map 13 has helped starting, but is causing other problems Maybe just loading new maps all the time is not the answer. Possibly the tuning may need to be tweaked for each rider
  23. That would be interesting. I would like one. I have the 2012 model, ride clubman, love how gentle it can be. But really would like the 2 stage map and the battery assist starting. So, (Don - our importer) I would be a candidate for one

    Fuel Range?

Deon I was at the Sherco Women's Cup on the weekend, 9 sections 5 times. Start at 10.15am ran out of fuel at 2.00pm on the last lap with 2 sections to go. Bike gently stopped (right at officials area) I re-fuelled up and bike started 2nd kick. Not much help but fuel lasted a fair time for a little tank
  25. Hi Tobeee I had Map 11, nice to ride with but always felt dead when starting. Went to Map 13 and start is much better, 1st kick most times cold - hot what ever. I have noticed that even the smallest throttle movement when kicking over can make the bike harder to start. Top of stroke, good hard and sharp prod down and back - lean over the handle bars as you kick it over. Will be good with the battery pack, amazed it was not on all the bikes to start with - a battery on any fuel injected bike makes firing up at kick starting so much easier. So OSSA, make this part a CHEAP UPGRADE - if you put it on the "Factory bikes" as standard ,,,,, put it on all bikes at low cost --- then the forums on hard starting will stop
