  1. Not many Cubs around here, too draughty, too cold, if you added a cockpit (not carb') heater you'd probably be nudging the MTOW ( couldn't resist another acronym to keep you on your toes ). Anyhow, at least my Tomahawk is airworthy, unlike:- http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-21054089
  2. There used to be a series of photographs on TC showing what happens when you can't find the Gas Gas Pro gear chip and carry on using the bike. I think the owner was a Scandinavian?
  3. Yup, from what I remember only Honda stocked the right bearing
  4. Watch out for aftermarket stainless steel bolts aswell, it's galling You've just re-kindled a thought from a previous Copemech post about torque values. They need to be reduced by 10% or so when you assemble them lubed (loctite or copaslip), did Sherco state the bolt torque values dry or lubed and if lubed, why do the bike fasteners come bonio dry from the factory?
  5. Compared to your road vehicles over there you probably think 17.35 mpg is frugal?
  6. On every Sherco that I've owned I decided to remove the cap-head bolts and put copaslip or loctite on the threads accordingly since Pepe or Gaston hardly bothered at the factory. Charlie; the bolt that was replaced was probably the aftermarket replacement for the driest one to leave the assembly line that week...which some time later, the new owner went to adjust his handle bar setting and voila...tres fukt as the French say.
  7. Oh...and like the fat lass at the take-away: You've got to find those chips
  8. The laddos got a reputation for having a laugh but he's trying to make a valid point this time.

  10. b40rt, I see you have got a new carpet, it's nice, fewer stains than the last one !
  11. Howld the bus! I've just had another look at that chart and I can't see a Tiffie...Hero of the battle of the bulge and responsible for closing the Falaise pocket:- ...... Dwight D. Eisenhower, the Supreme Allied Commander, said of the Typhoons; "The chief credit in smashing the enemy's spearhead, however, must go to the rocket-firing Typhoon aircraft of the Second Tactical Air Force. The result of the strafing was that the enemy attack was effectively brought to a halt, and a threat was turned into a great victory.".......
  12. I always thought the Zero was just a tiny gnat of a plane but looking at that chart it's the same size as a Hurricane which is a bit larger again than a Spit. I still like the idea of building a Zero replica and buzzing a few Florida care homes to see if the old fellas remember their drills? As for RC planes, how about this one:- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nj1QJNhfqJc
  13. A grand for the pair but there's an optimist on E-Bay wanting £2K for one I'm not going to promote his wares by adding a link.... ...and TC is the best showroom for selling.

  24. When I see a Lanc or any other WW2 warbird I get the same urges that I get when I see Carol Vorderman's derrier....I just wanna touch it . Now that Peter Jackson has completed the Hobbit he claims that it's green lights all the way for the new Dambusters film...and the labrador code word is definitely going to be; D-igger In the course of researching my book (Mr. pretentious I know ) I've spoken to two members of 617 squadron and they both, independently, mentioned that the original dog's name was intended to be cruel, apparently Gibson was a bit of a swine. The lesser ranks were forced to salute the dog's grave whenever they passed by it, sometimes several times a day I think PJ may have missed a trick, the 70th anniversary is this year.
