  1. I think their all too busy with the spanners to reach for a camera
  2. Looks good from here, care to show us some close-ups?
  3. Have a rummage around this and its associated videos, its all in there somewhere but I can't be ar5ed to look. Most Pro owners just do it from memory or have you had the bike less than 6 months http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hjoj7n74G0s

    Cold Feet!

I've got the sealskins and they didn't make much difference to the warmth of my feet because I think I have the same malady as the original 'poster' i.e cold hands and feet to begin with which I think, points to a circulation problem. The only remedy is to keep moving, any chance you have to move your limbs; jogging on the spot, knee raises, jumping squats, stretches, take it... you will look like a real hard core loony though, in the same way that we only ever seem to see Fuji limbering up doing extreme streching, before he gets on a bike.
  5. Yup, that's exactly the same assessment I arrived at with both those bikes The Mont's front heavy feeling got worse when the rear was jacked up Ta ! Wayne
  6. Nick, I can't really help you with your query as I've only ridden a 2006... before and after it was heavily modified by its owner. I liked the PTB on the Leaia program but I didn't like it when it was fitted with a 280 kit and jacked up delta plates on the rear suspension...it's horses for courses. The reason for this reply is to ask you to elaborate on what you miss/ prefer about your Mont compared to your current steed? Cheers, Wayne

    315R Sump Guard

All that stress and tension is no good for your frame and as others have pointed out; no good for your crankcase if the clearance has been compromised. If you have access to a hydraulic press then it's best to try and reshape the plate before you offer it up for assembly, just be careful, I know that the 315 bash plate has a lot of holes in it at the front so watch you don't crack it. I know this makes it sound like you're stuck between a rock and a hard place.
  8. I don't know whether to be impressed or concerned that b40rt 'gets' my puns
  9. More than one time or another...kudos for coming back to us with the remedy, some folks just float off in 'denial'.

    Try this m'dear: http://www.trialscentral.com/forums/topic/23136-adding-photos/page__hl__%2Bhow+%2Bupload+%2Bphotos
  11. Looking at the new 'close-up' photos, methinks Nige is right.
  12. This makes no sense to me me but I'm reading your post and I'm getting de ja vu. I stripped my 290 down a while back and after a hyper-short time of perfect running, my bike started to ehxibit the same idle problems as yours. After checking and rechecking everything else...only a new stator coil cured it. I can't explain it so I won't, I hope for your sake it's something cheaper in this case . Edit: ignore this, can you see I'm still bitter about it.
  13. Is your other website dominating your thoughts?
  14. Hey i never said only I can ask questions but to get my revenge Ham2 you have a bike as far as i know, you still have interest given the time you spend contributing to this site yet i havent seen you ride a bike since 2010. So in keeping with the thread what should a club do to get you to ride a trial ? I seem to recall even offers of transportation have failed to get you there in the past... A 'passing interest' maybe more accurate; my bike has been dormant this year and it won't see a trial until I get back in the groove practicing... and here comes the whinge list requirements: New knees, I think I'm putting off knee debridement, I've even rapped in the martial arts. New career ££, this jobs doin me nappa in, I told you it was a family firm, like the mafia, I could never walk away. As for the transportation offers, I'm quite keen not to air our dirty laundry? PM coming your way. Wayne
  15. This topic has been visited before, the best reply I can remember was from a 4rt owner extolling the reliability attributes of the Mont, to paraphrase; ''They're all heavy when you have to push them''
  16. There are a lot of good riders out there but it's difficult to learn from them, I think this guy is one of life's great communicators, I have one of his DVDs and I've continually promised myself a second. It's been 25 years since I've been to college yet I recall this motto, from a lecturer, every time I'm trying to learn something new: 'Over-exaggerate a technique/ formula/law to it's maximum or minimum to best understand it'.
  17. Mark, Mr. pedantic here, I would have removed that surface glue between the friction blocks since you've gone to the trouble of stripping her down that far...but that's just me.
  18. A few considerations spring to mind straightaway, I'm suppressing my realism (some people call it negativity) faculty here: Are we hinting at being able to influence manufacturers' production/research/marketing strategies ( because I recall the mighty FIM, a few years back, stating that World trials had to go four stroke and the manufacturers, bar Honda have said 'Manjana')? If so, are we relating bike weight (reduction) to unreliability, is it that simple? i.e should we strive for a minimum weight limit of 75 Kg, would that help? Is reliability the main deciding factor in bike choice, especially when you consider other features i.e styling/ ride/ suspension quality/ latest technology/ motor characteristics etc ? What is the real relevance of World round Trials to bike sales, do manufacturers still believe in the old Ford mantra of 'What wins on Sunday sells on Monday'? Sorry Glen but I've answered your questions with more questions (what were you expecting? there's another question ) and only a couple of 'blue-sky thinking' suggestions; I dream of World Rounds using 75Kg bikes, unmodified from showroom spec and my personal fave.. a handicap system involving increased air pressure in the rear tyre (cheap as chips that one), you know; if big Tone was running away with the lead, add 10psi to his Mich with a quick tolerance check on finishing a section/ lap? Oh, and I thought Hamilton had nowhere to go when he got taken out yesterday but I still think he's a boy in a mans world. Wayne
  19. I clicked the like button, not because I have a dislike for the brand (which I don't) but because I appreciate the candour of the reply, it adds value to the site. I'm sorry to hear that Taff_d took one for the team...in the pocket
  20. I know I'm a bit late to the party with this topic but I recall a friends 02 Sherco with a sticking slide in the carb' body,a truly frightening experience for an adult never mind a young rider . In that particular case it was the grit and water scenario just as Copey described. It was surprising how insignificantly small the grit and water droplets were to cause the (huge) problem but I suppose any water or grit in any carb' is a bad thing. It certainly tightened up my carb cleaning routine.
  21. Great video, it looked like the rain couldn't stop the smiles
