The ironic thing is that from 2011 on the frames are 40mm(?) wider but it wouldn't take as much as 2 Kg to 'Isambard' over-engineer a couple of components..or would that overload a component further down the line?
You could be right with that....Owning a Gasser is like having a lingerie model wife; stick thin, the latest bling, great to look at,good ride, but there's always that nagging doubt of high maintenance and unfaithfulness.
A Gas Gas fan-boy that I know says that a Pro gets harder to ride after 3 years? When I asked how-come?
He said 'Have you tried riding with your fingers crossed !'

Thanks for the extra info Woody ,I keep going back to that photo
All trials bikes should be that colour scheme..deep red with black and silver contrast.
-
Off the top of my head:-7 to 9 lbs/ft seems a good value for most 6mm screws/bolts unless we're talking about a brake disc bolt or an axle pinch bolt...which we're not???
-
It's very hard to distinguish the difference in the sound that the loose clutch fingers make versus the chipped Ks gear teeth...especially over the internet

Ena Sharples?
You're as old as me if you can remember her !

Telecat, you often dangle the carrot with your insider knowledge regarding up'n'coming models.
Can you refresh my memory with some of your other previous, predictions including hit to miss ratios?

I base my opinion on my current tyre..a Vee..it's pants, but I only use my bike for playtime.
If I can tell the difference then there must be a big difference.
-
First things first ; ''I do love riding Gas Gas Pros''. I always ask the owner to start it for me when I cadge a ride, they think I'm just a dweeb/clutz but I just don't want the responsibility of knacking it.
I'm so paranoid on the owners behalf, that I now reckon I can hear the distinctive chipped gear rumble when a Pro is next to me.
I cadged a try on a Pro and while waiting in the section queue ,I rolled the bike backwards a few inches (without thinking,as you do) and selected 2nd gear...the owner and the next nearest Pro owner went ballistic on me..Lesson learned.
But if I think about the people I know who've had or have a Pro the KS /gearbox failure rate is about 60 %-ish .I can't name names to verify these claims (cos ultimately people have £ tied up and need to sell their bikes on) so I understand that you may easily dismiss my credibility.

Were they just too expensive or unreliable or just didn't ride as well as the opposition (TYs>)?
-
Tyres =What you paid for £
-
I notice they (Gas Gas) have not made a 'how-to' for starting a Pro which is probably more crucial than a 'how-to' for starting any previous model (which didn't have the KS pawl/gear problem)??
-
In a nut-shell
The KS pawl/gear teeth breaking free and floating around the gearbox is 'not uncommon' shall we say.
-
I don't like the look of that one without a box....looks used to me?

What do you think?

That bright red 303 gets my attention

A word of caution,I think there may be two types of vinyl sticker, one has a lot more(or a different type of) adhesive than the other.
The contact-adhesive-backed type needs a hair drier to warm the target and the sticker itself and there's little margin for error when you place it ...
...but the other type just needs a film of soapy water sprayed onto the target and you can manoeuvre it around quite freely.
My mate had a motorists shop and his biggest income was from fitting the car stickers that he'd sold to customers who could/would not apply them for themselves.
His costs were;
A dentists pick to lift the sticker from it's backing.
A plant spray with soapy(fairy liquid) water in it .
A squeegy.

Phew, I thought it was only me who worried about the Muslim-Martian-Hippy-World Order
In the last few years I have swapped mindlessly watching bilge on the TV to mindlessly watching internet bilge (admittedly a bit more 'educational bilge')..my head is so full of useless information that I now fancy my chances on a game show (I've registered for 'Million £ drop but Tarrant never rings me back after I get through to the first stage of 'Who Wants to be a Millionaire').
I love YouTube suggestions,it's like that parlour game 'Six Degrees of Seperation' ...but you end up at the extreme opposite of what you originally searched for, from my toe-nail clippings to...a thermo-nuclear weapon.
On that subject do you know what's the deadliest weapon? :-
The deadliest weapon in the world is a Marine and his rifle. It is your killer instinct which must be harnessed if you expect to survive in combat. Your rifle is only a tool. It is a hard heart that kills. If your killer instincts are not clean and strong you will hesitate at the moment of truth. You will not kill. You will become dead Marines. And then you will be in a world of ****. Because Marines are not allowed to die without permission! Do you maggots understand?

Seems like the noise you get when your bike is overheating and the mixture has leaned off or you're getting fuel starvation....I guess you're not overheating as you would have mentioned it?
If I had to make a video guess,I would hope it's just a mixture problem.
That sounds like a lean knock to me, clean your carb ,check the needle is in the right position (clip/groove) turn your mixture screw to try and 'richen' things up..
I hope it's that simple.

Ok I know it's early days but a 50/50 chance of landing the right way up?
Where's the escape hatch again?
That's right..on the top !
