  1. Belter info Telecat, I wish all grass-roots feedback about new models was like this. Go to the top of the class Wayne
  2. I've often found that this publication is as much use as a waterproof tea-bag ! Is it a 2012 ,is it a 2013? British journalism at it's best...not ! http://www.tmxnews.co.uk/news/columnists-s5/Sherco-present-Cabestany-Rep-i5747
  3. Try this:- http://www.shercousa.com/content2.cfm?action=9
  4. From what I recall the Pros have the main crank bearings lubed by the gearbox oil so I don't know if ATF is good enough for that application. Hopefully a responsible Gas Gas owner will be along in a minute to advise
  5. Disclaimer; I forget all theory when I ride. I find it's best to lower my crotch 'into' the dip in the bike (where the seat should be) with very bent knees...and try to modulate my weight backwards or forwards ,from there,as needed. I know it's easier said than done as the bike is normally bucking around. I could never call this position 'comfortable' as I am committed to the bike and feel like I can't easily 'abort the mission' (i.e.bale out or take a cowardly dab ) if it all goes Pete Tong.
  6. Hey taff-d, you've done some pragmatic thinking there, coming up with the simplest/best engineering fix, sounds like you are really on to something Is it because you've come over from the Dark-Side and no longer state that; '' taff_d is glad he's not a Geordie'' ? Wayne
  7. Your English is pretty good and my intellect is pretty poor..I didn't read your original post properly . Do yourself a favour and ditch the two bikes that have seats, the trials bikes are more fun per Kg Enjoy ! Wayne
  8. Be a gentleman and let your girlfriend have the newer bike ...by the way,I think that other bike is a 2000 not a 2001. Wayne
  9. Bearing in mind that you've got a bit of experience and a budget of £1200 then you're buying on condition alone and nowt else, regardless of manufacturer.
  10. Hold on, I think I've missed something here. Are you saying that pre-mix in the FI on an OSSA 2stroke is a no-go? If so; What cools the piston/little end? I don't know much about the OSSAs,do they have main bearings lubed by the gearbox oil like the Gassers? Wayne
  11. I recall that an OSSA owner posted on TC the 'perceived' benefits of his FI...until..he tried a new 300 Gasser and reported that the Gasser carburation was very well sorted i.e.superior (smoother etc.). Do the benefits of FI out-way the costs? In the current world financial crisis adding FI to a trials bike could be a big business gamble for small company. Back on track,I hear what you're saying Neo...for the big increase in costs (for a new bike) you expect a big improvement in the capabilities of that new bike (in all areas). From the Department of Stating the bleedin Obvious:- Neo, You know you've got to swing a leg over your prospective 2013 steed,it's the only litmus test that counts. I was very cynical in my first reply to your topic but just to contradict my post; the small year-on-year changes that certain manufacturers carry out do mount up over the years. My main hobby is trying other peoples trials bikes, it's like sampling other peoples girlfriends chips, they always seem luverly. I rode an 08 Sherco 250 a while back and the small suspension changes and engine tweaks were very noticeable making it much easier to ride compared to my 05. I rode Baldilocks' well set up 2009 Gasser 280 as well and it was a big improvement over the 2006 pros that I was used to, in fact it was a peach, just too much poke ! Wayne
  12. Hi Neo, I've lost my TC 'quote' facility ,the post was in reply to the one above me. 'Over there' is my term for the U.S.,the previous poster was describing a financial utopia as far as I was concerned..I was also being a little facetious i.e. I would love to be in the care-free situation whereby I could just off load my new 2012 because I didn't like some small feature and get a 2011 in its place. I'm guessing that the depreciation on a 5 minute old 2012 bike would be between
  13. I think you mean the 2012 Keihn (sp?) carb? The 2011 had a Flat sided dellorto I believe. Do you guys over there not have a problem with depreciation? I would love to be in a position where,if for some reason, I didn't like a certain aspect of the 2012 bike I could move on and get a 2011 ...without any serious financial penalty? Or are you lot all just rolling in it....money,that is?
  14. The cynic in me would report thus: New for 2013; Re-sited foot-pegs,moved a few mm,for better balance.. New frame geometry. Revised engine internals (for better efficiency). New exhaust internals. Improved air-box airflow. New front fork manufacturer. New rear shock manufacturer. New ignition map. Blah, blah, blah, Sorry ,it's been a slow day at work
  15. Hey, Mr. Admin...time to merge this merger talk?

    Clutch For 315

Go easy with the dremel until you've taken a look at this PDF file,it's brilliant. http://www.trialscentral.com/forums/topic/28407-the-beta-clutch-fix/ Wayne
  17. Just when Andy has got the bike forums arranged into specific manufacturers....dayumm
  18. These OGGAs? They're aiming for 11,000 units per year..that's bold
  19. How long does a rear tyre last you?
  20. ..and I thought I could waffle
  21. Brown sold off the Gold and bought....guess what???...fu*king Euros...
