  1. One of my partners in crime, Les, also demonstrated to me the flexibility of the 05 4rt mudguard, by performing a spectacular FLIP while attemting to wheelie down the road!! At his age he really should know better!
  2. Just for you Ludde, i took my mont out on Sunday and put a large scratch in the back mudguard (using a section rock, and a technique known as "falling flat on my ass"), and can confirm that indeed, it is coloured plastic. The things i do for you lot.....sheesh
  3. Although i love montesa's and would reccomend one to anyone, they are both good bikes. I have spoken owners of 200 Beta,s, and all of them think that they are all that you need. Nice soft progressive power delivery!. The 03/04 monts have a slightly more progressive power delivery, compared to the earlier models and IMO are the ones to go for, if you want a mont. Both are pretty reliable, Try them both, prefferably off road, in a section, and see which you preffer. Its all personal choice, but at the end of the day, it's your money.
  4. I have just peeled the sticker off my 05, it's not painted. It must be "special", expensive plastic on the 05.
  5. I used shell optimax in my previous 2 ,315's with no knocking Cheaper than Avgas, if you can get it
  6. it was ridden around the parc ferme, if that counts as "ridden"!! Never seen it for the rest of the week!
  7. Spotted this little beauty in the parc ferme at this years SSDT. WHAT A CRACKER. I wanted it so badly, it hurt!! Talk about MINT, it looked like it had just left the factory
  8. LC 350's are re-borable, as they have a steel liner in the barrel, modern trials bikes do not, instead they are coated with nicosil (not chrome, or nickel plating), directly to the barrel casting. If the nicosil coating fails, it can be re-applied to the barrel. When the cylinder plating is damaged either by wear or a seizure, a replating service can be carried out using diamond-hard "nicosil". Not only does this save the barrel but the "nicosil" is far superior to the original plating. No matter how badly damaged a barrel is it can be repaired by welding and re-machining. If sending a barrel for replating, strip out all studs, All ports should be dressed and chamfered by the plater, and the barrel is ready for use. This should cost about
  9. Yes there is. Silkolene Pro 4 for the gearbox, and Silkolene pro SRG75 for clutch, as recommended by Sandifords. The SRG stuff is excellent, i also used it in me old 315, and it improves the clutch action. Oh, i think you'll alsdo find that DRY clutches are used in road racing bikes and do not contain any oil!! (the name's a bit of a give away, "DRY" Clutch). Who-ever recommended it for a dry clutch wouldn't have got very far, as the clutch casings are generally vented, and would have resulted in a oil slick to thye garage floor. (see modern Ducatis)
  10. THATS PROBABLY A GOOD THING, COS THAT IS NOT A 240 BASHPLATE ON FLEA-BAY. It certainly doesn't look like mine!!
  11. Just one question to ferret flasher. How can you compare "like to like" with different gearing and raising and lowering the idle on each setting. The gearing/ tickover will also have a large effect on responsivenesss, on a standard motor? If i spent the money on the ECU (lots), i sure as sh8t wouldn't want to spend even more on different sprockets etc. to get the benefits Sorry, I'm not convinced! Thanks for your honesty barcota, let us know how it goes in the sections
  12. As the title says , Programmable ECU. has anyone tried the different settings, and if so, is there "THAT" much difference. Honest answers appreciated!
  13. Come on boofont, just buy a new one ya gripper!!
  14. OK, OK I'll take one on loan for a trial period, and let you all know about all the differences. When can i pick it up?
  15. Power is sharper! Don't know if that would be classed as a "Benefit"! Get some shell optimax to cure the pinking. It works!! Adjusting the timing will also make it sharper, again, not recommended, unless your name is "Dougie" It has plenty of poke as standard, why mess around with it? >Honda spend thousands of man hours getting it right.
  16. Quote:I decided on the black rimms after looking at your bike Monty python beer.gif fat bars a must... next a call into mr mitani CREDIT CARD ON STANDBY?? Hmmm FAT BARS you say, eh. Lookin good, Hmmm, fat bars, credit card, Hmmm

  19. Wow, shiny things, i like shiny things!! The elusive mont appears. You got shares in belgom alu polish? More bling monts, thats what we want!!
  20. Looks familiar!! well done that man, Hmmm fat bars, me like! Looks good, despite the photo.
  21. Take the choke out of the card, and clean the base of it.(it unscrews) Also check throttle cable and slide for sticking.
  22. Then corrected you shall be!! My 99 didn't have black forks,,, ah i see what you mean, black fork stanctions, sorry. Silver bottoms, black sliders, right enough!! 99 also had black exhaust front pipe, but this may have been updated to a chrome one at a later date. The 2000-2004 on had multi coloured fork sliders. 99 also had a carbon effect tank, and a black rear mudguard, but again, this may have been updated at a later stage. Hope this helps
