..........I got a MITANI clutch plates.......much better.......but still a ****ty clutch compared with other trials bikes!
how cansuch a expensive bike have such a bad clutch ????

well, I don't know if In can be of much help.mine runs perfectly right out of box...my plugs are always light grey, ''the way they are supposed to be''
in reading all these threads, I've come to the conclusion, not all 4rt's are the same!.......
fouling is a computer issue, .....the engine is programmed to run perfect mixture in all conditions!!!
however, I did throw away that stock filter, replaced with jitsie...and I run racing gas.......you'll never foul with racing gas!!

well, was playing around with a 08 yesterday......honda has definately done work on the clutch and tranny!......I actually got it into neutral, while it was sitting there dead cold..no engine running ...takes me forever to get my 05 into neutral ...clutch lever felt as easy as any new two stroke ..not like my 05.........
and the engine was smooth and silky and very quiet, not like my 05.............I guess you can see where I'm going with this ...........massso

............well, you've hit my pet peeve with the 4rt...how can you charge $10,000 for a bike that won't go into noootral and has a motocross clutch???I've done all the mods....and its still mediocre.........mitani plates a must ...and you gotta spend the money on that elf oil!!
I find I can get into noootral when engines hot and running , ,so you should find noootral when running, then turn off ...come back later.will always start in neutral...but touchy when in gear
I have an 05....I'd buy a o7 or an o8 ......except I've spent so much on this rig , ...but she's running great except for clutch ................................massso

yes, this is the one factor I hated about the 315!
a few months after I sold it in favour of a fuel injected model...I met the guy, took the old girl for a spin, and she worked wonderfully!............he said he went to a one # cooler plug..a #6 ..............try that ..and always run race gas!
if you still have problems, buy a 4rt.................a no problems-bike ....quite boring, wish something wood go wrong!

dude....google ....ENDURANCE FOODS or any combination of racing/heat endurance etc etc ......there is lots of products out there for long distance runners/cyclists.....a must in the heat!!!

..................dude, I feel your pain!..............w2hat you do, is install the HRC 260 kit with the TORQUE CAM.......solves stalling and creates an amazing bike to ride!!!
I'm riding around in third all day!!.......................why they didn't install this cam in the first place is beyong me????
by rights, you should be able to buy just the cam alone .....maybe someday .................masso

you gotta find an o5, owner that will part with his bag of goodies, or, most dealerships did not install those kits, so must have stashed them somewhere...........check around .........................masssso

...................I have one of the first bikes out!!!.........no problems at all...no fauling , but have had to replace a few plugs, ..................I think tthe problem is the bloody oily filter, put in a 315 filter instead...........

THEY FOUL PLUGS RUNNING FROM COLD
ANYONE WITH A PTB CAN CHANGE THE AIR/FUEL MIX
ITS VERY VERY HARD TO STALL A 4RT
I WISH SOMEONE WOULD LET YOU RIDE A 4RT

.................disagreement here.....I stall mine all the time in third!...first and second , no problem.....
the problem is answered from 4t lover...above..........its only when I'm going over an obstical, and blip the throttle , stall................must learn new riding style.
figured a heavier flywheel wood help, but no luck on findiing one or room to add on inside the cases.......................do try a hotter plug .....................massso
