  1. All the plastic parts(bodywork, mudguards) have the date they were made molded into the back of them. I would check the front mudguard one first. If they match with the other dates on the bike then everythings cool.
  2. I would pay to see these old bikes

  4. Latest rumour about Ben Spies is in 2013 Ben Spies joining BMW and riding in WSB. Then in 2014 BenSpies and BMW return to Moto GP.
  5. That air filter is made out of an old baked-bean tin. .
  6. Marquez was the reason Dovi never went to Honda. The real puzzling question for me is HOW did Smith get a MotoGP ride ahead of Redding????
  7. Thanks for that wilfie, thats one of the few how-to posts that didn't go over my head.lol. I'm going to check the float height soon.( I would have turned them fully upside down to check the height too). Hi aussiechris ,yes the Raga has a keihin and the 280pro had a delorto, personally,i prefer the delorto but thats just because the keihin choke button seems a fiddly wee thing compared to the delorto's lever. I'm remembering more and more to give it a bit of throttle and it starts no problem. If this is my only worries with the bike then i'll be smiling.
  8. Thanks laser1 , The bike starts first or second kick (as long as i remember to give it a wee bit throttle)and it runs fine. I'll just have to get used to throttling and kicking at the same time. :-) even though that just seems wrong to me. Silly nigel? No, that's snidy.
  9. Hot and cold. Without giving it some throttle it just won't start.
  10. It's the other way around stormy normy. You can't tax a vehicle without showing your insurance documents.
  11. Hi everyone can i get some advice please? My bike struggles to start unless i give it some throttle while kicking it. It's a 2007 TXT Raga 300. I just got rid of a 2002 TXT pro 280 that started with no throttle every time,(i had that bike for 9 years and i learned not to slap the kickstart) This is really p****** me off as i keep forgetting to twist the throttle while kicking it over.It goes against 30 years of habit.Giving a bike throttle to start it just seems wrong. I've had a few bikes over the years(mostly road bikes and Mx'ers) and none of them ever needed throttle to start unless they were broken then a trip to the bike shop sorted them out. Is my Jetting wrong or something? Could it be something else? or do i just have to put up with it and re-learn how to start a bike? My mechanical knowledge is slim so if it's anything more complicated than cleaning the carb then i'll have to get a bike shop to do it. Thanks.
  12. Thanks guys. I'll go and see what one's i like.
  13. I'm in West Lothian,Scotland and i need to buy a pair of trial boots.I dont know what make of boot i want yet. Does anyone know of any shops where i can actually try a few pairs on before deciding which ones to buy?. Thanks.
  14. The more new cars i see, the happier i am with my LandRover Defender. .

    Age ?

I've got a 2002 TXT pro 280 and the side casings are black plastic also the frame tubes are thinner too. Thats definately not a 2002 TXT pro280.
  16. I've never ridden in an organised trial before and in my opinion, the ACU should be listening to what people like Ben are saying. On a different note, but connected and very much relevant. The British mainstream media have an (unwritten) list of things that they do not want talked about. Unfortunately, motorbikes are on that list. All motorbikers are Hells Angels apparently. The SSDT is the oldest bike trial in the world but i've not heard a word about it on the BBC. The TT started yesterday,do the BBC know or care??? IF the ACU or anyone else are really serious about encouraging Trials to grow then they should come up with the cash to make a new version of Kickstart to be shown on the BBC.One season of Kickstart shown at 5 or 6pm will encourage more kids into the sport than anything the ACU do rule change wise...I know it will cost a lot, but, if it's popular then it'll pay for itself.
  17. Here's a motors tv link. http://www.motorstv.com/tv-guide-uk?d=2012-05-05&h=4
  18. Thanks guys, i'll give them a phone.
  19. Thats what i'm trying to do. NeilH...The only bikeshop i've ever used is now closed. So i'm asking for some recommendations. You can have Bob the Builder or Saddam Hussein look after your bike if you want to,that's your look-out.I would rather have someone who has worked on Gas Gas bikes and has the right tools to do the spanner work on mine.
  20. Hi Naichuff, I'm just looking for someone to service the bike,I'm clueless when it comes to engines and i just got the 300 Raga and i think there's something not quite right about the electrics on it.I used to get C&J Wilson in Uphall to do my 280 pro but they've now closed. I wont be at the gala trial as i've got no transport for my bike at the moment so until i get a bike rack from Dave Cooper i can't take my bike anywhere.Somebody told me somewhere in Dunfermline does Gas Gas servicing but i cant find a name for them.
  21. Can anybody recommend a good Gas Gas mechanic in or near West Lothian. My internet is saying there's only 2(one in Perth and one in Inverness) Thanks.
  22. What a great site. .I'm in West Lothian,Scotland and i've been riding my Gas Gas for the last 9 years up Broxburn bing with only Moto-X guys for company(i've only seen 3 or 4 other trial bikes in all that time).I've never joined a trial club as i've never had transport before and i only just found out about this site last week. DOH! I've got lots of questions to ask you. See you later.
