  1. Just got home. Was a good trial, but I was a bit out of my league. Took a few tactical fives as I no I would ended up upside down lol. I finished with one minute to spare. Saw some good rides from the MRS sherco riders. Those tree roots were savage
  2. Most of my scores were either 3's or 5's, but all of my 3's were well eant pulling the bike through the sections lol. I think I only had one clean and a few 2 and 1 dab rides. I will be out practicing nailing third gear from a stand still as needed in section 1 and 2 over Christmas So who did actually win as I have heard lots of different stories? See you all next year Tony (The Unknown)
  3. Very good trial, but was a pretty hard day for me. I think I completely ran out of time despite not hanging around and stopping briefly to fuel up. There were lots of ace men riding making the sections look very easy. However I was pleased if I got anything less than a 3 on the clubman route. Il definitly be entering next year as long as a clubman route is available. Cheers Tony Ps I can hardly walk today
  4. To be honest if you put a good rider on any of the current 07 bike's they will win. All of the bikes are capable of winning a championship. A lot of people slag of Scorpa's saying that they are not light or easy to ride like a Gas Gas, but Joe Baker seems to ride his Scorpa fine. Iv had two pro's and now I have just picked up an 07 Sherco. But round my way (South) the Gas Gas is the most popular with youths and experts. But the Scorpa is popular with clubman. Cheers Tony
  5. I have just got a sherco and looking to get it insured. My old Gas Gas policy with CN says its not covered for trials. Are you peeps on this forum insured with CN covered for road trials?

    Clutch Tool?

I am in the process of changing my 06 pro clutch plates and have come across a problem. The ring of bolts on the basket are a bit different to anything else I have seen before. None of my sockets seem to fit (metric or non metric etc) so I was wondering if it was something else. I dont really want to have to use a set of grips etc and end up making a big mess. Cheers Tony
  8. I know this has probably been asked before but........, What is required to fit a keihin carb? When I sell the gasser I will keep my keihin so once run in I will want to put it on my next new bike (gas gas or sherco). I know the jets will have to be changed but what about physically fitting it into the airbox and inlet manifold? Will the original throttle cable be ok? After seeing me mates brand new sherco in his garage I really want one as its mint!!!!!! However Il have a play on it over the weekend. Cheers Tony
  9. Well my mate has just got his brand new 07 290 so il have a go on that over the weekend. Watch this space........... Cheers Tony
  10. I ride a gas gas 280 and I am looking into buying a sherco as they dont seem to be made of tin cans. I love my gasser to bits but riding nationals and falling off lots means I need somthing a bit more reliable. I fancy an 07 290 sherco as my mates 05 has never let him down (apart from the stator) and he hardly ever touches his bike. However whenever we go practicing in Wales my mates Sherco can never pull 4th up hills in sections that my gasser flys up. Lots of people have told me that their Shercos dont pull 4th also, so I was wondering if the 07 or 06 is any different? I know that the 5 speed box means that 4th is needed for moors crossings etc, but any advice or opinions appreciated. Cheers Tony
  11. Gas Gas will!!!!!! Have you run your new bike in yet?
  12. Having a place to practice is always going to be good, but a lot of people who are lucky enough will not invite people over. Me and a few mates have a piece of land where we can practice when ever we like and we have had to pay the land owner and machine drivers to make some rocky sections etc. However you cant invite one person and not someone else you know as you end up with random people turning up and spoiling it for the poeple who have spent a lot if time and money. I assumed that living up North or in Wales would mean that you had loads of places to ride as the land is always better up there etc. But the old bill spoil it for everyone now. I used to practice in my local woods but now the old bill have clamped down and will take my bike away. Cheers Tony
  13. No small feet........! Lol Any other ideas? I may give Gas Gas a call tomorrow and make some enquieries.
  14. I always used to ride using two fingers on the clutch but have started using one for obvious reasons. However due to having small hands (U no what they say about small hand?.......... )I have moved the master cylinder inwards so that my finger is on the end of the lever for more leverage. I have also bent the lever straight so that I can actully reach the lever. However as my fingers is short I could do with the cluth being a littel lighter. Any ideas or common mods? I have heard a rumour about putting a washer between the thrust bearing and clutch to make it lighter? Sorry my bike is an 06 280 Pro Cheers Tony
  15. I have heard that some people seal there air box's with silicone to help stop water getting in when riding through streams. Do people block the drain at the bottom? As its right at the bottom water would easily get into the box, but then if it's blocked theres no way for the water to escape. I agree that the box should be taken apart and all of the joints sealed with silicone etc. Any advice/experience would be great as I am riding the Mid Wales Novagar next week end which I guess is all rocky streams.
  16. After reading all this Gasser slagging I have to agree and I ride an 06 lol. However all of my breakages have been due to me crashing. I ride 2-3 times a week in the Summer practicing and the odd trial and I normally stack badly on every occasion lol. My list of problems on my 06 are, - Had to get the mid box mounts all welded (twice) - Both foot peg brackets snapped off and welded back on - Base Gasket went after a month of riding But I have had none of the normal design fault gearbox problems etc. A few hours spent in the shed each week soon sorts out the problems so Il keep riding gassers. Iv had an 01 and 03 Rev 3 and they were very reliable, but after having ago on an 06 270 last month they feel like riding a tank. However it does not matter what bike you ride as all of them are as capabale as each other. You just need to spend a few hours on the bike to get used it it etc. After that your old bike will feel awful lol. Cheers Tony

    07 Pro Spec?

From the recent revies in TMX it is very vague saying general improvemetns to reliabilty etc with the gearbox, but no exact specifications. Maybe the actual TMX test will reveal all soon.

    07 Pro Spec?

Apart from Black frame have any other changes been made to the new 07 bikes compared to the 06 Pro?
  20. I have just been on there website and was wondering if anyone on here had any training with them. The website makes the people seem very professional and the fact that they cover fitness etc as well impresses me. I used to have the odd lesson now and then when I was schoolboy rider with Sam Connor and they used to always transform my riding. Edit Atomant : Link : http://www.completetrialscoaching.com/
  21. Iv been there. Mental piece of ground with literally thousands of different bits to ride. I saw you boys down the arena today, I was the lad with the 06 gasser 280. Anyway I am sure we will all meet up there at some point. Tony
  22. Is the 06 Raga out yet? I see that there is some info on the gas gas website about it, but no pics. Anyone got any pics and more info? Tony

    06 Coolant

I have an 06 280 Pro and during the victory trial this sunday the cooling fan was on all of the time. Even when going along the road in the freezing cold. The bike never boiled over but the fan seemed to always be on. Is this normal? My 05 Pro fan behaved a lot more normal cutting in when the bike was not moving etc. I am going to fit an 04 thermostat etc but to be honest the standard 06 set up should be fine in theory? Tony
  24. Was my first time riding the Victory and my second ever national so was all a big learning curve. Lesson No.1 Get a late number next year. I was rider number two and probably dropped around 180 lol. Which is probably more to do with my lack of ability but the sections were like an ice rink lol. See you all next year. Tony
  25. When are these available? Merry Xmas :hat:
