  4. right... the time has come to sell my 125 as it is costing too much to run with so many expensive problems due to excessive wear. i feel that for me the 125 was a great bike for learning the basics on. but now ive progressed on and would like a bigger bike. i do not like the way i have to rev it so high to get up things! so i am looking for a 250txt pro. what are these like power wise? i seem to be able to handle the power of bigger bikes very well and prefer riding them.except sometimes i ride my dads 270 1998 which is not very smooth but very snappy and is almost impossible to get it up steep slippery hill whithout a huge run up.. does the 250 Gas Gas pro like to spin the wheels up or is it a nice smooth bike which is easy to find grip on? because what i want from a 250 is a nice soft bottom end and to make it easy to find grip. i am guessing i will have to do some mods then? anyone got any good modds to soften it a liitle? thanks ben
  5. For me it's the lanyard Kill switch it's definitely saved us a few times. http://www.splatshop.co.uk/jitsie-lanyard-magnetic-kill-switch-4968.html
  6. If you can find the frame numbers which are located near the headstock on the frame. (the top of the frame where the forks are joined and pivot around) phone Gas Gas uk they will tell you straight away. The 92 to 96 Models look very similar
  7. Purely out of interest what year is it?
  8. Ok so on your bike you should put in 650mls of gearbox oil:)
  9. Hi Jamie it's good to hear your back into it! It will be great to see the pictures of the bike tommorow. Before trying to start it!.. * take out fuel tank drain fuel and put in fresh fuel whith 75-85 ml of 2stroke oil to 5 litres * drain the gearbox oil and top up with new stuff- if its a txt pro- 2002 and newer you should put about 450mls in. If its older I think it's about 550-600 mls * take the carb out and clean in side and jets with wd40 or carb cleaner or compressed air. * put in a new plug I think. That's about it! any questions just ask. Ben
  10. Not too familiar with betas so I don't know. Someone will though
  11. Take the pump cover off and kick the bike over while turned off and see if the impeller is turning
  12. Check your carb is not too lean as this may cause it to run hot

  15. It is only a 125 and it still has very little compression compared to bigger bikes.
  16. I will tell them to check that then
  17. That's what iam thinking
  18. They are saying the new piston put too much pressure on the big end .
  19. The thing is though this knocking sound that goes up in speed of the engine happened when I accidentally tried to start the bike while it was running as I could no here it running due to other bikes around me! There was a clack which I think was a tooth breaking off the kickstart gear? They are saying its the big end though. This noise started after the clack of the kickstart. I some how don't believe them.
