    Fantic C@sta

Does anyone out there actually have one of these fabulous looking bikes? There isn't much information about them online, were they just a concept or a development of the later aluminium framed Section. I have seen several different pictures of them but not much else, and if they were available were they any good?
  2. How badly damaged is your fork tube? I repaired a scratch on my 2011 using nail varnish then smoothed it off with 1200 grit wet & dry, I then replaced the seals with best quality green SKF seals and never had any leaks. Could be worth a try.
  3. Hi,I had a similar problem with a TY80 that had been unused for a couple of years. It turned out to be the ignition flywheel side crankshaft oil seal that had gone,it was easy to tell because fuel/oil mix had found its way into the flywheel casing area. it was just a simple case of removing the flywheel and back plate, hooking out the old seal (carefully!) then fitting a new seal. Hope this helps.

    2016 St 250

I have a 2016 300 and the air filter element stays a lot cleaner than my old Gas Gas Pro did,and it's a great bike (in my opinion)
  5. Just had a great day at the MRS Sherco trials test day at Westwood near Barnsley. With good support from the dealers from around the country who brought along their demo bikes, there was plenty of chance to ride the new 125, 250, and 300 trials bikes in a relaxed, pressure-free, woodland test area. Many thanks to all involved, especially Nige Pearson from Trials UK who organised my test rides. It makes you wonder why none of the other importers don't do something similar!
  6. I always struggled to start my Pro 300 when cold till I found out no throttle was the way to go,now no problems warm or cold
  7. Thanks for the info,I will give it a go.
  8. I need to strip the compression side fork on my 2011 Pro 300 in order to sort out a scratch on the leg and replace the seal, I have read as many of the posts on here as I can and have a good idea how to do most of this, however I am unsure about how to remove the top cap from the inner 'cartridge'. I have loosened the cap from the top of the rod inside by holding the square with a spanner and turning the 22mm head on the cap, this slackens it off but after a couple of turns it seems to lock up. i do not want to force it and risk breaking something in case there is something I am not doing correctly. Any help would be appreciated.
  9. Hi,I have recently acquired my Uncles 1956 Ariel HT5 which he used in the late fifties and early sixties,as far as I can tell the bike has been unused/untouched since 1962. I would like to restore the bike but do not have much Knowledge of older bikes (magnetos etc.) and was just wondering if there is anyone local to me who could offer any advice. I will have to progress quite slowly with it as I do not have loads of money to throw at it,I am also unsure whether to try to return it to original spec.or just to restore to the spec,he used the bike in (seems to have several 'homebrewed'modifications).Any advice would be welcome.I am located near Leeds.

    Tank Covers

Hi there,I remember having a tank cover for my steel tank TY250S back in the 80's. These were made by Damon Cockroft, who used to ride in local trials himself, his business was called DLC I think and they made seat covers as well. I have googled his name and a company called Motorcycle Seatworks in Bradford comes up (01274 604672),maybe you could give them a ring. I am not 100% sure of all these facts but if anyof it helps,Cheers
  11. Does anyone know how much and what grade of fork oil goes in the 89 240 Europa. They are 35mm Marzocchi so I presume they could be common to some other bikes of this era. Also I was told that removing one of the baffles from the main exhaust silencer was a good tuning mod,has anyone tried this?
