  1. Going back to the Miller rounds, could I ride one of them on my TY MONO or is it just for pre65 and twinshocks?? Cheers Mark
  2. How's Bens dad Fred ? has he still got a trials bike BS? I've not seen him for years, I know he used to sell some spare parts.
  3. I bought a conversion off a very grumpy John Shirt snr years ago for my TY Mono, I think it cost about
  4. Mine was a standard cable clutch model, I did my own clutch arm mod, Silencer mod too....I found the cable clutch to be very good, there's no need to go the hyd way. I recall there being a big fuss about it having a tubed rear tyre, again put one of the IRC tubed tyres on and you'll never look back....Have the newer bikes got tubeless rears?.
  5. Wished I hadn't have sold mine I would not fancy riding it on expert routes though.......I think you would kill the engine in very short order.....it is a very good clubman bike though (which is what it's made for). I only found mine lacking on some of the big hill climbs, I still say to this day that it was the best bike I've had for riding up rocky streams. I've not been on the 175 version but by all accounts that the one to go for if you can afford the bit extra. http://www.scorpaaustralia.com.au/bikesSY175F.html
  6. I thought you used to have an 02 Stu, I've had an 01 250 and an 02 250......I'm thinking of getting another one this summer, probably be an 04 200 or 250. My mate Buzz has an 05 270 and I found it a bit too powerfull for what I need......what the crack with the flywheel weights?...I presume if you take the weight off it will rev quicker (and maybe spin easier too?)....as for the 07's, they do look very nice.
  7. Hi Jamie, You will probably struggle to find a 175 version cheap as they have not been out that long, I would guess you would be lucky to get a 175 for 2k s/hand. The 125 has been out for a while (I had one new when they came out) the cheapest I've seen a 125 for is
  8. Sounds like I'll have to make the effort and get my ass up north then ......my mate tends to do most of the rounds so I'll see if I can hook up with him.
  9. What bike were you riding Nigel...modern or other?
  10. I tend to do the ones that are pretty local to me (shrops and mid wales) I must admit I never did any last year but the prevoius years trials have a really good day out, sections are about on par with my local clubs clubman course (just what I'm after ) I wouldn't go as far as to say they were 'lame' .......they tend to be set out with the older bike in mind...... The only way you'll tell if there any good is to ride one
  11. Not been out myself lately either......the winter isn't my best time of year anyway Steve Goode was saying there wasn't much on till the end of the month. You still going to live abroad??.....a country with a good stock of BEEF no doubt
  12. Cant speak for Pitley, but mine hit the money read it and weep m8
  13. Hey there BS thought I might have seen you at the boxing day trial? or was you still eating the left overs from xmas dinner
  14. http://www.mx247.com/home/results/trials/c.../cwacboxing.htm Looks like The old TY kicked the Beta's ass You might do better if you joined me and Pitley and bought yourself a Pinky
  15. Cheers guys Looks like all these will keep me busy for a while
  16. Can anybody recommend any good trials websites? with the long winter nights I yearn for some more trials stuff... TC is great, one of my local clubs used to have a good active website but it (Briedden Hills) looks like its gone the way of the Dodo, another local site is South Shrops which is at least being updated with results and photos etc. Any good american websites?? Cheers Mark
  17. I've noticed in 99% of the threads I view I only see the Smilies as there code type and not the smilie itself if you know what I mean.......I find I can post them ok so what gives?

Hi Zippy I've got a jap import 200 that had been used as a road bike, I must admit it's a lovely little bike...all the cycle parts are in good condition due to the fact I guess its has not had much trials use (if any)..I pulled all the lights off and changed the tyres (rock hard Dunlops) and away it went I've just got to try and stop myself spending money on the likes of alloy silencers and all the other trick bits you can buy for the TLR's
  19. I know where youre coming from Dabster, but lets face it, with the exception of the tubless rims fitted to Montesa the design with a rim tape sealer has got to be one of the worst ever.....tell me how many people post on this very forum with leaking rims?? Its a bad design isnt it! Each to there own I suppose When I first used Sika, I used to put it all over the spoke holes the put the rim tape on, very messy.....now all I do is put the rim tape on clean then run two beads of Sika either side of the rim tape then smooth it over with my finger...run a small bead around the valve area (note no sika under the tape).......this then leaves the spokes clean for any adjustment / replacement etc. Works for me everytime...... Happy new year to all.......

I know what your saying about the females Stu,they do my ed in....... thats why I find Trials a good excuse to vacate our house The Avatar is Bender off Futurama.....brill show.....that and Stargate sg1 are they only things worth watching these days
  21. I use Sikaflex, we use it at work but I'm told it,s also used to install windscreens in cars, it never really goes off as such just sets to like a rubber so you can still get at spokes if needs be. I'm sure the usual suspects will harp on about using nothing at all and clean the rim up etc etc...trust me they'll still leak (I'm sure I've read on here that John Lampkin recommends using sika...but dont qoute me). I sika all my tubeless rims and I have no trouble whatsoever......

Don't knock ebay, I've bought all my road bike bits off there...bargain prices too The TLR stuff does not sell 99% of the time....far too pricey from yer man from Southampton I think (used to post on TC). I think ebay is spot on, sure you have to read into some deals and watch what you buy just the same as you do if you buy out of your local rag etc...... Anything with TLR in it means pound notes to the sellers
