  1. you have to post your images via a website like Photo bucket etc, hope that helps
  2. Section 7, ..........good looking chap with an army jacket on (probably couldn't see me ha ).......south shrops hold some good trials, there road trial is a must (august I think?).
  3. And I can vouch all three KT's rode very well in my section, one thing I did notice with all of them they had loads of induction roar .......never seen a yellow one yet though...love that Kawasaki green though
  4. Be interesting to see how much THIS machine goes for
  5. Hi Eddie the one on ebay is a std Yam one. Birkett does list them on his website but infact he has not got any for sale, I asked a while ago.
  6. I'm on the lookout for a new flywheel cover for my mono, I know birks did once make em, did John shirt do a similar thing?
  7. Cheers Bo, funny thing I've just found the packet my Wiesco con rod kit came in and guess what....even thats made in china now
  8. I was always told to buy Genuine stuff if I could get it, I've been dealing with a third party and I thought I was buying genuine bits, the last thing I want is to start the thing up and it sounds naff, the bore and piston kit has cost me
  9. The problem I've got is the top piston ring will not sit flush in the piston when the ring is fully compressed...ie; the ring groove on the piston isn't deep enough, the ring is sitting proud of the piston. Just been in the shed to found the box the piston came in......'Yamaha piston DT-2' and it's made in Japan and distributed by the rocky cycle co, sunnyvale, California. Just measured the pistion to pin and it's the same depth as my old std Yam one so I guess thats ok, it's got the same ports in the back of the piston so all's well there ( I've also had a Wiesco rod fitted ). I'll try Birks again Tuesday.
  10. Where's the crack?..any pics?......at a guess it could be your brake drum could be oval or cracked...without out a better description it could be anything.
  11. Cheers dave, will keep on trying. Funny you should mention the piston length, I noticed the piston was very very close to the crank when I was trying to get the barrel over. I've gone down the 270 route with my mono (wished I had not of bothered now)...i thought i was buying OE yam stuff but when the piston came it was some american thing, the guy whom i bought it off said he was awaiting the rings, I went ahead and got the barrel rebored to suit the piston. When the rings came they were pattern too and did not fit the piston properly, had some 'genuine' rings sent out but there no good either...all i can put it down to is the pattern piston is crap. All sent to try us I guess.
  12. Trying to catch him in Pitley, tried loads of times and no one answers the phone......must try again I guess.
  13. Does anybody know if genuine Yamaha pistons are still available for a twinshock TY250?. I've got hold of a 'pattern' piston from a UK Yam spares dealer and it's been nothing but trouble .........any help would be appreciated.
  14. My god, check out that bash plate
  15. What about the Beta fourstroke Woody? I've never had the pleasure of either but I do like fourstroke but I admit they can be 'different' to ride.....I've had a few older TLR's and one of the first Scorpa fourstrokes. I was looking at a beta fourstroke in my mates shop the other day, very compact, does not look much different from the rev3.
  16. Used to have a 2000 model combo, you will only fit one bike in the back, if you want to fit two I guess you might get away with it if you take the front wheels out of both bike first (pain!). All the van's I've had in the past have cost me more to insure than my cars, insurance companys think you are using it to make a living hence, the high cost. My advice to you is to get some insurance qoutes, I think you'll die when you find out how it does cost to insure a first time male driver these days, a mate of mine is going through this now with his 17 year old lad......
  17. Bumped into and old friend last saturday who was selling me a front rim for my TY, he has just bought a bantam that looked very much like the one in the pics....exhaust came up and over the opposite side to the one in the pic. I know nothing about pre 65 bikes but his looked very nice indeed, i didn't hear it running but it was quite light to lift, apparantly built by some old boy who must have been quite handy with a lathe judging by the trick little bits and bobs.
  18. Were in just got our numbers today, early start first day and late start second day. First time in the isle of man for me and really looking forward to it, ferry crossing was a bit pricey but hey ho

    Why

oh no not again nice looking bike non the less
  20. Your bike is a 1978 framed model, I don't think that the engine and frame numbers always have to match up so I wouldn't worry too much about it.
  21. I wonder if it will sell? look NR750 HONDA
  22. fair play, that engine looks like it grew there ......just curious, how would you get on entering a bike like this in the miller rounds or a similar type of event?.
