  1. cheers villers for the quick reply to my question [7 mins]
  2. any one any information on the drayton bantam ?
  3. change of plan for the moment, finaly got the 330 back together this afternoon, tried 3 differant amal carbs on the bike and all combination of parts from each ,trying to find the least worn. ran like a dog with all 3. when looking for the carbs i found a new mikuni vm 26mm that i had bought off ebay a while back ,has similar jetting to the one on the 247 at the start of the thread only pilot, slide ,and main jet slightly differant. tried the bike briefly this evening and does not run too bad , a bit of tweaking and it might be ok. will give it a good try out tomorrow when the next door are at work ,so not to disturb them
  4. well after seeing that a new amal was not as expensive as i had thought i think i might give that a go, never had a problem with them on bikes i had new in the past. at least then it will give me some idea if the bikes running as it should and with a new carb i can rule that area out. if i were to use a oko it might not be jetted to suit and throw up another variable. will let you know how i get on
  5. woody did you find much differance between the oko 26mm and 28mm carbs ? thinking on trying one on my 330 mont , but cant decide on which size to get. currenty have standard knackered amal 27 mm .
  6. nothing to worry about, had 08 125 and 09 evo both have rattling clutches, seems more noticeable on 125s for some reason
  7. cota 335 engine has electronic ignition
  8. hi scott, my son rides a 125 evo, and to be honest it runs spot on on the standard jetting with castrol tts oil mixed at 70:1. he probably rides 90% of sections in 1st gear only using 2 and third on bigger climbs and mud. i take it that you are an adult rather than a schoolboy rider? if i ever ride my sons bike i find that it seems to bog in 2nd gear ,then again i am about 5 stone heavier than him. perhaps you just need to rev it harder as its only a 125 and they dont exactly have that much flywheel weight for being grunted through sections in 2nd gear.
  9. mainly bikes from early batches were affected , though it does seam hit and miss as to weather you have problems as there are im sure many early bikes out there with no problems what so ever. ours had a dodgy weld causing the bike to leak fuel and swing arm cracked by linkage mounting. frames and swing arm apear to be updated/ strengthend. next time you are in a que at a trial to pass the time play" evo spot the diferance" see if you can spot any changes
  10. youth rider, not hard on bikes , frame and swing arm replaced under warranty , know of at least 4 other similar cases , over to you.............
  11. Had one since January, never had any problems. Also must say that the importer is very good. Nothing wrong with the evo. i agree with pinkpikes quote above that there is nothing wrong with the evo , apart from the frame and swingarm problems !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    2010 Beta Evo Pic

rad filler looks more vunerable now than it was before, as for other mods, carb settings changed to reduce consumption [ do they mean dribble form overflow ], air box improved for flow, super duper air box intoduced last year. swing arm more rigid. [ less prone to cracking!!!!!!!!!]

anyone know if a rev 3 rear wheel fits ?
  21. was a cracking bike when it was running, only problem was the kickstart gears which broke too easily and quite often wrecked the crank cases, nice looking bike and well made apart from the kickstart problem.
