Where Are People Sitting At Sheffield?
I'll be in the Arena. Kinell will be in the crowd using my mobile to send results to Heath who will be at home and Heath will update the site. I'd have sorted a press pass and got Kinell down in the Arena too with my spare camera, but the daft sod is taking his missus Teamwork!

Where Are People Sitting At Sheffield?
I wish I could realistically describe what it's like down on the arena floor . The atmosphere and noise is just awesome (especially those bloody airhorns!). Never experienced anything like it - especially when the riders first come out. Last four of 33 batteries in the charger now! And this year I'll try not to lose a lens (Which I'm eternally grateful to Ray Archer for handing in). I have to thank Jake too for his complimentary pass to the Dougie hospitality.

Who Is This Idiot M4RT
I don't know much about how this whole forum thing works, but my understanding is it reports users logged in and active in the past 15 minutes, not those currently logged in. I could be wrong though, because as I say I don't really understand how it works.

Suspension & Reeds Article
Good article Billy. I have a searchable archive of Technical Articles on the site that has a great selection by Ron Milam, but nothing new for a while. I'd be keen to add this and anything else you may find in your archives <cough> - fully credited, of course.

Who Is This Idiot M4RT
Exactly. If it were a Swallow, was it an African or a European Swallow? These facts matter y'know.

I didn't even read it all, but can I have some of what you've been smoking?

Who Is This Idiot M4RT
I doubt it, American's nor Canadians would use Soccer as a sport of reference. An ex-pat might.

Who Is Minding Dougie Lampkin At Sheffield Arena
I heard Dougie had asked for Kinell, but he knocked him back as he's taking his missus to Sheffield.

Interesting Site?
I won't even pretend to understand half of what you guys talk about in here, but I got a submission to the Trials Central Links page today for a site that may be of interest. I normally avoid commercial advertising in the forums, but this seems to be specialist and not the sort of mainstream site you can easily find unless you know about it. http://www.bps-eng.com/

Cartoon Trials Picture
My thoughts exactly. I've seen some great Trials cartoons and none of them can be posted here or used for anything without the permission of the creator.

Last time I was up there the wind nearly had me taking the *very* fast route to the bottom. Good luck!

Pinhard Trophy
You're absolutely right in him having the right backing. I've been to so many youth Trials where fathers are constantly putting their kids down if they don't perform to their expectations. Some of the stuff I've heard literally disgusts me. Julian is always full of encouragement even if Alexz hasn't ridden a section well. That's what's needed, not "Do you ******* realise how ******** much I spent on that ******* bike?" and "You're ******* useless" type comments. The danger with Alexz (and our other up and coming riders) is discovering women!

Flash?
I use flash all the time and have had no problem whatsoever. Not once have I had a rider complain about me distracting him (or her) and that counts at countless Clubman Trials, various Nationals, the SSDT, the Scott, World Rounds and probably most notably - Youth Championship Rounds. If anybody is likely to be unused to a flashgun in a high-pressure Trials environment it is the Youths, but not once has there been a complaint, despite me using a high-power flashgun. I've never heard of Eric Kitchen or Barry Robinson getting complaints either. If riders are complaining then they ain't concentrating on the matter in hand and are blaming the flash for their failings.

Ben Nevis Webcam
A webcam at the Parc Ferme was something I looked into during my time of involvement, but the costs for a short period were way beyond what was affordable.

Looking For Summer Trial Trainning
Dougie Lampkin is doing his usual annual training days. Click for details Steve Saunders also usually runs Trials schools in the summer, but I have no info for 2005. By all accounts they're very good. His website is www.trialschool.com - it's worth visiting just to watch the cool Flash intro if nothing else. Both the above are run in the UK.
