  1. Telesco shocks were standard fit, unsure on the rebuildability tho. Both grippers we had 81 250 & 350 had unpainted alloy bars & chain guards.Hope this helps.
  2. All the monts our way run 9/42, had mine 8mnths ,used at min 4hrs a week and no probs with the guard/slipper as yet.+ they are cheap enough/easy enough to replace when/if needed. I think you will find the benefit of a 9 front outways the worry of slipper wear.
  3. If you do decide on a test ride don't be afraid to rev her, they will rev to the moon and sound fab.
  4. That's hardly a fair comment gg249, the sheer volume of bults, monts&ossas sold in the "heyday" dictate a lot survive today. plus they were not built of cheese ( 4rt excepted) like now.
  5. Buy a standard 14/15 4rt & with less than50% of the money saved you can put an ohlins on her... job done.
  6. There is definitely an art to getting the best out of them (& its art not science) but for grins per ride theirs no comparison to a smoker. As above try to get a good long try out.
  7. Didn't know they had 4th!!!.Everyone down here runs either 9/41 or 9/42 whether expert or not.
  8. Was intended as humourous, but no its very rare 2nd gets used & 3rd once in the 8mnths iv had her!
  9. Im sure I have heard/read that the front brake mod of the day was to fit an RM m/xer front drum, twice as big and prob heavier but works..
  10. Going back to the van after the trial
  11. Only a header pipe? is the stock silencer good enough then? I have a ptb on her but its not a dual map.
  12. A bigbore kit is less than 25% of the cost of trading up to an RR,much as I would like one it not going to happen.
  13. Im sure there must be a thread on here but here goes anyways, whatopinions do you guys/girls have on the bigbores? ie is there a noticeable torque increase or a smoother uptake down low? And are they reasonable value for money relative to performance gains? I have a 15 4rt 260.
  14. That looks awesome, its a pleasure to ride such machines. Congrats on a beautiful bike.
  15. Sounds good.Bike change on the cards then?
  16. The gearbox on tis era of bike generally had bottom 3 section gears then 4th/5th for the roadwork in between secs. A big jump 3rd to 4th isn't suprising on a standard bike surely.
  17. Would the fuel pump dying give the different idles on different locks? Surely it would be constant from the pump.
  18. only goes as hard as you turn your right hand, gentle and delicate with big cc,s . practise,practise,practise...
  19. Apparently one been picked up in the wilds of cornwall, but it hasn't broken cover yet!!!!. Trial on sunday so hoping to get a glimpse of the beasty then.
  20. Box standard ????????????? Very new box.
  21. don't think so my 15 260 has the same rad as my 05, don't know bout the 300rr, no one got one to look at yet lol
  22. Hmmm everyone will have their favs, mine are era related, early 70s mk3 cota late 70s mont 348 early 80s Honda rs 250 then the mighty rtl (never ridden a ty250 mono oddly).GasGas until the 315r appeared then 4rt ever since.. just my thoughts, look forward to the opinions of others.
  23. 2nd best? so whats the best one ever?
  24. No doubt the pilot the difference between :them & us: but the bkes definitely make the gap even bigger, blagged a quick go on rathmells 348 in the day and believe me it was a totally different steed to my stock bike...
