H&D do both front & rear uprated springs.

Years and years????? I know of 2 2014s that have needed doing and a 15 albeit a hard ridden one. Not the greatest advert for either sealed mains or sherco tbh.

As you well know james "power corrupts" , the 4rt may not have the absolute power of a 300 2st but they use whats there with very good effect, and matching what a screaming stroker does on just off idle with a mont is an awful lot of "fun" believe me.

Look on the Honda trials history website, theres both engine & frame number info on there plus its a v good read.

Agreed on the fantic 200/240 but the 300?? that's a camel.

West Cornwall are hosting the 3rd rnd on 2nd april,as far as we are aware the classes are o/40,o50,0/60 and non champs. All classes are on any bike mind so I guess you could ride a pre/65 or t/shock if you wanted to.Hope the acu clear it up asap all the same.

I would like the chance to have a good long test of an electric trailer,it appeals to me personally and I would like to put one up against a petrol bike in anger (surely to only true test). Unfortunately I don't know of anywhere to test one, except on tarmac (pointless in my eyes).

The 14s & newer do ride easier than the older bikes without doubt, to be honest im not sure why but my 15 takes less rider input for the same result than both the earlier bikes did.(08 / 06 repsols )

The mesh covers the 4 holes in the mudguard where the "seat" is. Prevents large bits falling through into the airbox aperture.

To answer the last pointof the original post "worth the upgrade" . In my humble opinion YES most definatly ,for whatever reason the my 15 260 is a lot easier to ride than my 08 was & that's got to be good,+ you cant beat a new toy....

Engine is a big difference both in power delivery (260 much smoother with no sudden surge) & more of it.Cant say chassis is much different but the 260 feels lighter on the front and lighter overall tho it weighs the same,so maybe geometry??

There are 2 rrs within spitting distance of me down here,both been out practising/running in but not used in anger yet.Both owners are chuffed so far,& the bikes sound fab.Acid test coming on 9th jan 1st comp ride!!!

Could you adapt a mont 4rt longrange seat? There always ads for them on fleabay.

The repsol has showa suspension,the cota has,nt. But the repsol is £1500. I would buy the cota and put an ohlins on it and save over a grand....Plus in my opinion the repsol looks dated.

That may well be the extra kg,s rather than a grip issue.

They grip just fine,you just gotta suss how they work,its a different technique after a 2t but grip not am issue. Weight could be depending on what level you ride.

If your book says the fuel/oil ratio is 120/1 & you are running 50/1 then that's more than twice the oil recommended per 5l fuel,its no surprise the plugs don't last and she runs rough. Would also explain the exhaust clogging and being smoky due to unburnt oil in the wadding.

Richer or leaner mixture is air/fuel ratio.The oil in premix is to lube the big end/mains. That said to much oil will naff up the clean running by oiling up the plug until it stops.
