  1. Try calling Dave Renham @ Bultaco UK / In Motion Trials on 01784 440033, he has some Italjet stuff listed on his In Motion Trials website. No pistons listed but you never know your luck.
  2. Just looking at the MOT regs and it says that bikes first used after the 1st Jan 1973 must have horns which are not of bulb type. Do many testers notice this or can I get away with it? If not, how would I wire in a horn to the wiring? The bike in question is a Model 124 with the standard Femsa igntion with the Red wire replaced by Black (other wires as standard) and I don't normally use a chocolate block in the wiring systems. Another question is how do tester react to slightly bent wheels (luckily I have a good set )
  3. Greeves is as always spot on, if you call Dave Renham at Bultaco UK he can supply various sprockets etc in 428 and 520 sizes. Mine runs a 46 tooth rear sprocket
  4. Got Falcons on my Sherpa and they are great, good quality and custom made to my weight, recommended.
  5. That particular item will not affect any Dell systems (can only speak for business) after the Optiplex GX280 series, as these have USB keyboards, although I am sure that there must be a USB version.
  6. Must point out that is a quick wordart sketch of it, and dont use it to measure from
  7. That looks possible to make, bit of plate steel, 4 holes drilled in the right places, could be a nice little project, the bolts screw into the flywheel and the middle bolt is the puller Attached pic shows kind of what I mean where it shows nuts these should be welded onto the plate as this would be stronger than threading it (i have a plate for pulling BSA Bantam cases together onto the crank and that has stripped it's thread). This would be possible if had all the tools making sure the bolt for the puller would fit down the hole in middle of flywheel
  8. Greeves is totally correct here have had to scrape powercoat and paint back to bare metal to get a spark from mine. On my bike it also didn't help the bike had been on fire so all the wiring was burnt out and had been replaced with household mains cables so none of the the colours matched and had to strip the ignition down to complete re-wire
  9. Get some Bradex Easy Start and squirt this into the airbox, this is a highly flammable mix that gets engines going. I have a Bultaco which was unused for 25 years, oil down the bore, changed the fuel, cleaned the carb did all the usual stuff and nothing. A squirt of that and away she went and is still running now. Another idea is to warm the spark plug up on the gas hob this normally does the trick on my bikes that have stood for a while and are resisting all my normal methods.
  10. Doesn't Legs have Vestys last Bultaco in his possession? My brain can't remember clearly as I swear I saw it and am 90% sure Legs was stood next to it.
  11. Has been a while and I have been beavering away in my garage and have so far produced this Bultaco Sherpa M124 Restoration spent a small fortune on shiny bits and new parts. Will have it finished soon I hope, engine needs a rebore and a couple of other jobs but looking good so far.
  12. As my bikes are all classic trials they have non O-Ring chains and I still have two tubs of chain grease. Stick it on the hob, drop the chain in, pull chain out after 5 mins, hang dry. Chain is coated and cleaned in one pass.
  13. According to the Sammy Miller catalogue Bultaco Paints (best matches) are Red Ford Sunburst Electric Blue Ford Gray Ford Silver Fox Bear in mind these are UK Ford colours and may not be the same as the colors in your country. Silver Smooth Hammerite is also good on the frames.

    Bultaco T250

Carb doesn't make much difference to me I have two identical Sherpa M91 (both early style frames) one runs a Mikuni (swapped onto the bike in 1970s) and the other runs the original Amal. Both work great and to be honest can't tell the difference.
  15. Well after completing my M91 Sherpa (tank needs painting but hey..) I am now moving onto a M124 with a Homerlite tank unit which is in mint condition, my other 2 homerlite tanks are cracked / broken at the seat / tank join and a bit rough. Time to get the credit card limit extended as I am pushing out the boat on this one will all new parts when needed especially as I don't have wheels for it...
  16. Most people use a photohosting site (photobucket as an example) and post a link to the picture from there. Luckily I have webspace My M91 Sherpa Complete
  17. Another good image editing app is The Gimp. It is a Photoshop clone and is 100% free
  18. Well an update, filled clutch case with oil when I got in from work and went to the speedway, came back no oil on the floor! Finally! Add mudguards and an airbox and i'm done
  19. My Dad used to buy his spares from SM back in the 70s, used to send a blank cheque and a list of bits and SM would send the bits (Ordered Mon arrived Weds/Thurs usually) and then they were fitted in time for the next weeks trial. I was at the museum not too long ago and while I was there I picked up some parts, the service I got face to face in the shop was good and the parts are mostly OK, small adjustments had to be made to make the levers fit (drilling out the hole for the nipple as they would not fit). The older parts I have from Millers (1970s kit) is good quality and has a good finish so it seems to have gone a little downhill with time. Bultaco UK are by far my favourite company to deal with though, Dave and Pete there are always helpful and willing to go the extra mile and are amazingly accomodating. For example when some idiot mangled a fork leg bottom (trying to remove a sleeve someone had pressed in to use a Yamaha spindle...) I went down and saw Dave and he went into his stocks and produced the perfect item. Never a complaint to be had and he will be seeing much more of my money in the coming months. Like Big John says, no connection with either company apart from I am a past customer of SM and a very happy current customer of another (hats off to Mr Renham).
  20. Does anyone else have the same problem as me? Simple jobs turning into nightmares. Tonights Escapades Get home from work, get into the garage gear and start a simple job this time fixing leaking clutch cover on my M91 Sherpa. Remove side case Remember that even though it has leaked oil for months the oil pouring onto your hands means it was still pretty full Mop up oil Whilst removing side case the gear selector mechanism comes out Mr Haynes says this is normal Refit gear selector Clean up gasket faces Smear Hermetite Red onto gasket face and onto side case Put side case back on Tighten screws Try to change gear... No gears can be selected Side off Refit gear change selecto Clean gasket faces Re-assemble and try again (offering prayer to Mr Bulto himself) All gears back (sigh of relief)
  21. Rod Gibson of Classic Motorcycle Mechanics uses a firm called Simms in Halifax 01422 305340, the quality looks good and he wouldn't use them if they were rubbish
  22. From anywhere, just spray the mesh gold
  23. I would suggest trying a webdesign app such as Dreamweaver, makes all this a lot easier! I think what you are looking for is the <td valign="top">Your Text Here</td> this will bring all the data in the cell to the top of the cell. Also valid are "middle", "bottom" and "baseline" HTH Pete
  24. Had the same problem with my Bulto Slimline.. If the triangle rear box is fitted the bike does the above, without it all is well. If you've got it on the bike, take it off and see if it runs better.
