  1. If you remove the swan neck (2 bolts normally) this will leave a horizontal channel, you could make up a
  2. Don't forget that whatever you are tightening the bolt into makes a difference to the torque settings, alloy parts can easily have threads stripped by over tightening. Also oiled/coppaslipped/waxed bolts also require a different torque setting. Sherco USA has a guide on general setup and lubrication http://www.shercousa.com/pdfs/sherco_setup...ation_guide.pdf Just checked some of these against a 1970s Sherpa and the specs are roughly the same.
  3. The swanneck will be bolted to the towbar. In theory a bracket could be made that bolts to replace this swan neck and then has a standard towbar flange.

    Chain

I use Regina chains on all my bikes. I did have one fail at the split link though but replaced the link and all is well.
  5. They attach to the flange of the towbar. The ball has to be the bolt on type, I have a removable swan-neck therefore my racks are useless now!
  6. I normally use heavier weight oil as I am a lardy bugger. Did a quick google and found 4.5WT Oil $20 per quart or $70 a gallon.
  7. Comes in all sizes 2T and 4T. Cabestany was riding (a 4T) one in Sheffield. Trials UK has it listed at
  8. I've got a couple of towball mount racks in the shed, tried it once on my car and did not like it in the slightest. I didn't feel I could get the bike as secure as on my trailer and it was looking like it was going to slam the rear of the car. Much prefer my trailer or the good old Transit van!
  9. Not sure caustic soda would be a great idea for the aluminium/alloy rear box, as it is well known to eat such items. This might sound stupid but I was first made aware of it (unless it was taught in chemistry) by an Ogri cartoon of Malcom cleaning some bits of Ogris bike in caustic soda and them disappearing.

    New Sherco 200

  11. Don't buy a shed from B & Q. Mine is dreadful. I reinforced the floor with extra bearers to support it and the floor still bent so I laid down loft flooring. The walls are just as bendy so I loft floored them as well. The roof sags in the middle and the felt they give you for the roof is as thin as tracing paper. If you can find a local company that specialises in sheds, get one from there.
  12. My 3 bike trailer hangs off some wall brackets in the garage with a strip of angle iron bolted across the brackets to keep it on there. As it is fairly heavy I use a long length of 3x8 clamped to where the lightboard goes to pivot it off so I am not lifiting all the weight. The single bike trailer I have used to stand up on its end at the back of the garage again with wall brackets holding it up.
  13. I have had my license about the same time as you and a quick and fast rule is the maximum trailer weight you can pull (without sitting an additional test) is 750kg. I tried a bike rack on the back of my Renault Megane and it didn't feel right with all the weight on the rear (Bultaco 250). Trailers are the best way to transport a bike in my opinon.
  14. Try installing the Cole Media 2k codec pack Download from here and that will solve most issues.
  15. I rebuilt the engine of my M91 and that would not start for love nor money either. Get down the local motor factors and get Bradex Easy Start, remove the airbox and spray it straight into the carb inlet, kick and it should run, worked for me anyway.
  16. Are they currently the cup and cone style? If you want to fit taper rollers this requires a modified top nut to make them fit.
  17. If the bike is (i think) pre 1981 then it does not need indicators. If no lights are fitted you can get a daytime MOT only. A horn does need to be fitted to all machines but pre 1974 (again i think) can have a bulb horn. Anything post 1974 requires a proper constant tone horn such as in your car.
  18. A full guide can be found at http://www.hungerstone.net/spip.php?article32 this is written by someone on here, sorry I don't recall who, but it tells you all the steps.

    Wheels

I was thinking of taking some work their way, but now I won't even though I live about > < that far from them! Central Wheel in Coleshill are the people I was recomended to about getting wheels sorted.
  20. Bultaco UK also do the boomerang style exhaust (there was one on the ebay shop not too long ago)
  21. I wish I had a nice example too ... I have 2 running M91s (1 non-restored, 1 restored-ish built from boxes of bits) 1 M91 that is in pieces and a M92 frame in my loft. Soon I will have a nice example as the bike to be restored is almost original the parts that aren't original are carb (Mikuni fitted from new!), middle silencer (Sammy Miller aluminium).
  22. Make it a Guinness then
  23. One of my M91s runs a Mikuni carb and all seems good with it can't tell a difference between it and my Amal carbed M91 though.
