  1. Thanks. Run of the mill Honda dealers run scared when something out of the ordinary is mentioned. Still treating Imports as if they were made on Mars.

You are not a donkey you have done well, as long as the bike runs well etc. In the UK we would pay that sort of price for one stripped in boxes. Well done P.S. If you go to David Silver spares site there is a link there where you can identify your model and year of manufacture etc. Good luck.

  5. Given the value/ prices TLR 250 twinshocks have been achieving recently I was wondering what the rare mono RG model would be worth. The white one with blue and red stripe. Completeley different bike and quite rare. I have been offered one that requires a couple of small jobs sorting. Possibly more of a trail bike maybe. Any ideas, or any users trialing one on here. Thanks.

I can not believe Honda would sell a mudguard so cheap. A pair of TLR mudguards were

Have you noticed its the same bloke selling the CCM bike and TLR front mudguard. Good luck to him I say. And yes if you have a set of nice mudguards sell them now and buy some universal ones while the going is good. Cheers ps if you can give me the name of the Honda dealer selling GENUINE Honda RTL mudguards for
  8. Hi, I have just purchased a TL200e Seeley, very tidy except I do not have a sprocket cover. Is it the same as an XL125/185 of same era, or was a different cover used? Also I have a WES silencer fitted. Is there a better silencer I can use as the one fitted was intended for the TLR200. I have got a TLR200 with a WES and the Seeley seems to run hotter. Thanks

Take it to your local scrap yard and ask to use the scales if they dont mind. The small ones and not the weigh bridge obviously. Cheers
  10. Probably carb slightly flooding, if bike was not running and carb was full. You only need to worry about it if it floods when stood still, as you may have some dirt in the carb or need to check float height. If it does not flood when stood still and petrol is turned on and bike is not running then you have nothing to worry about. Cheers

I bought a pinky a couple of weeks ago, its bored to 270cc. The bloke I had it off told me to run it at 50;1 mix with synthetic 2 stroke oil. He had run it at that mix since he owned it and the motor sounds fine.

Hi, can somebody advise me as to which piston is used to convert TY175 to 200. And is worthwhile. Is it just a rebore and nothing major like machining piston or whatever. Thanks.

Like busses, none at all then 6 at once. Take your pick.

No demand for these old things nowadays. If you are not too far from me I will give you a few quid for it to help gain a bit of space in your garage/ shed.

Exhaust system is the only thing that lets it down. Look at the welds close up. It is worth as much as anybody is willing to pay for it I suppose,
  17. Hi, I am trying to find contact details of the Cotswold twinshock motorcycle builder, Jon Bliss I think. Thanks.

Hi, I dont know whether you have a twinshock or mono. I have just purchased a pinky that has been bored to 270 and the inlet manifold has been shortened, means you have the barrel machined to do this. J.K Hirst do 270 pistons. I know the bike pulls well and is still soft but as I only bought it on Sunday I cant really tell you any more. Good luck with it.
  19. Cheers.
  20. Hi, I have just purchased a 250 pinky Yam and it requires fork seals. Can any body tell me the oil capacity required and best grade oil to use. Thanks.

Hi, the Seeley I have been offered does not have matching numbers if that helps.
  22. andy m replied to andy m's topic in Honda
Thank's Big John. The bike in question was supposedly supplied with white mudguard's, and they have been replaced. They look okay though. I have seen a few Seeley's and I don't think I have ever seen two the same. As for the stories re production numbers etc, well I am sure you have heard them all yourself. So who knows???

Hello all, I have been offered a Seeley 200. I have not seen it in the flesh as yet, but judging by the photo's it is a minter. Some history unrestored, not reg'd until 83. It has a Wes silencer which is obviously not correct. But it has white mudguard's. I think it may be one of the last ones built. Did any leave the Seeley workshop with white mudguards? Also has anybody had a replica silencer made. Len Savage sticker on the bike, may have sold the bike when new? Thank's.
  24. Thanks all for your advice.
