  1. EBC have been around for as long as I can remember. Stick them in there, they'll do the job. No need to p**s about wi anything fancy. Jobsagoodun lu. If the cylinder aint broke dont fix it, stick a bit of tape round it, that'll do.
  2. Hi, I have an Idea for a book. Sadly not trials related, but 2 wheel related. The trusty Honda Cub is in its 50th year of production in 2008 and I would like to write a book about its history. I need some pointers as where to start. Obviously I know I need to pick up t he info etc but what about using other material from the web etc. I dont want to upset anyone, but at the same time it is what most history writers do is use other peoples info etc. Thanks in advance. Bo drinker.

    My Pinky

Hi, I have got a Pinky and it is a bit firey, and I know why. It is bored to 270cc and it is very sharp power wise. I have just purchased a 250 top end to sort it, as I want it as it should be soft power. I also have a shortened inlet manifold which is suppose to give extra torque. I notice your manifold is std though.
  4. Scorps SY /TYS 125. Modern geometry and aircooled 4 stroke. = BEST OF BOTH WORLDS. An excellent twinshock could be built today, weight and geometry and power right . But a certain few (See other forums ) would not treat it as a "REAL" twinshock. So that is why THEY are changing steering angles and s/arm lengths and footpeg positions on the older bikes. Not to mention engine mods etc. I only spoke about fitting twinshocks to a TY Pinky and THEY were ranting. I will stick to my Scorpa for now. Thanks.
  5. And they have bought all the tools and jigs presses to build Montegos and Maestros, and they were c*** when they were built over here. Anything as long as they can make a few yen. Look at the price being paid for scrap metal and its down to theyre need for steel. Thanks
  6. Thats a fair comment. So I will convert the Pinky back to 250 and spruce it up a bit. But until then I will ride my other aircooled mono as it left the factory, unmolested still with the mono etc. A Scorpa TYS 125...... Its aircooled and its mono. Thankyou. Im not out for any medals so who cares!!!!
  7. You seem to get what you pay for. These Chinese clones of Hondas are not going to be around in 5 let alone 10 years. On ebay you can buy a 125 trail bike for around 6 to 700 pound delivered to the door. Mini motos can be bought for 60 to 80 pounds. (A 2 wheeled 2 st powered motorcycle for an average days pay) As I say you get what you pay for. After a years use they look as if they have been through 10 years of constant winter. Although the engines are quite good in some 125s, but thats no use if the rest falls apart around you. Yes they could build them but they would be s***. Thanks.
  8. Me again. I have the 270 spoke about before in t/shock conversion. Decided not to convert but I have a 250 top end on its way to convert back as I am a novice as mentioned earlier. They all rave about the Pinky so I will get back as it was intended and we will see what all the fuss is about. Besides Pitleys been telling me not to sell it, and he usually knows his onions.

    Project Complete

I see its on eblag. Dont take a chance and hope for a last minute bidding war as its a buyers market on there at the moment. Not a lot being spent. I say this as I see you dont have a reserve.
  11. Looks like an early TY 50, 16er sports moped chassis with 80 motor. The left sidepanel is the oil tank and its obviously still got the big seat. TY50 M or P, thats the anorack in me. If Pitley views the post he will confirm it as he had one when we were 16. (Happy days) Thanks Although having said that an 80 version was available abroad. 50 with 80 motor so may be import.
  12. The weight thing doesn't matter, I am around 14 stone and my mate has one and he is bigger than me. They will pull even us fat b******s about. The pre 95 thing does p**s on the firework though. Cheers
  13. Scorpa SY or TYS 125. Up to date bike geometry and aircooled motor. Excellent bikes. If you want one of the ones in your list I would say Yamaha Pinky, spares are available and they seem to be regaining popularity. PS dont even think of converting it to twinshock, you will upset all sorts. (See other posts re the subject) Thanks
  14. Just a quick one, Are Yamaha TY250 mono barrels all the same, will early ones fit a Pinky? I have been told that one of the mono's was not a brilliant bike so I don't want to use the wrong barrel if one is different. Thanks.

    Gasgas Piston

I sold a barrel and piston to a bloke a couple of weeks ago. It was a 250, anyway he came in person to pick it up and the model was exactly the same year etc, He brought his top end to compare. They were exactly the same except that his piston had the port in and mine did not. I havent heard from him so I can only presume all was okay. I reckon the piston was used in something else as well as the GG.
  16. You were swift adding that to your stable. The f disc is a sort of floating one. THEY havent bolted it up solid have THEY. Cheers
  17. Hi, the Seeley is virtually mint. An ex show bike one of the last built. When I have sorted my riding out as I am a novice I may ride it. It is too nice to ride really as Pitley pointed out to me recently.
  18. Its a NEW twinshock using Jialing Honda clone engine built in small number in Gloucestershire, hence Cotswold. They have been spoke about on here before. Sorry I dont know how to point you in direction to read info etc. Have a trawl about you will find it, or maybe someone not as thick as me can point you in the right direction. Thanks
  19. Thanks Mike, Ill be trying a standard pinky out the t*****r has bought and decide from there, as mine is 270cc and a bit sharp for a ***t rider like myself. PS hows the Hereford/cotswold/TY/ coming on. YOU KNOW YOU WILL BE FROWNED UPON BY CERTAIN PEOPLE. Its not the way it left the factory, blah blah blah acu blah blah
  20. I have got a Gas Gas JT 250 chassis I was going to fit a TLR 200 motor in to ride in a/c mono class. That was until I rode a Scorpa 125 and went and bought one. Its air cooled its mono but there are still people who have a whinge........... until they see me perform. Then they are not too bothered.
  21. Hi, I am toying with the idea of converting my Yamaha Pinky to twinshock. The main reason is so that I can ride some neighbouring club trials in twinshock class. Our club HEREFORDSHIRE CLASSIC TRIALS CLUB runs an a/c mono class but the neighbours dont. Is there anyone out there who has done the same, and if so is it much hassle. I ask because the swingarm doesn't have a lot of meat in it, unlike a box section as on a TLM 200, a mate of mine converted his to twinshock in no time. Thanks.
  22. Hi, I purchased a Seeley 200 a while back, it has not been used much in its life, its virtually mint and still on std tyres. It is one of the last ones made. Basically it runs rich on tickover but as soon as you open the throttle up its fine. I have a Wes pipe fitted and the motor runs like a watch even even though its running rich. It has still got a D8EA plug fitted which are a lot better than the resistor plugs sold today. My mate has a Seeley and his seems to run rich also, is it a common fault as I see the airbox rubber seems a bit restricted. Thanks.
  23. Not too much the night before. I agree with post number 4 also. Last trial I did I turned up in the morning limping around with the sciatica playing up etc, had a good day and felt a lot better at the end of the day than in the morning. I am also 42 but it sounds better if you say you are 30- 12. Thanks
  24. Reflex I believe has more of a road/ trail gearbox. Tank and panels are different. Most of the grey imported Reflexes from Japan have probably never seen a trial, mainly used as road bikes.
