i rode one for fantic uk and never had it fully wound open as it was to quick, by todays standards it probably alot slower than the modern bikes.
when it was new it made quite alot of difference

a few of the southern team are venturing into guildford town for a team building exercise on friday 1st september, just wondered if anyone else would beup for joining us.
were hoping to get to hook woods and set up camp, then get a taxi into guildford (only about 4-5 miles), then back later in the evening.

i'm gutted i've torn the ligaments in my ankle and wont be able to ride!!

my results were:
4 pairs of gloves soaked
2 complete sets of riding gear soaked
2 cold feet
1 drowned gasgas
1 bike caked in cow s--t, hopefully its my bike couldn't realy see the difference betweeen mine or anyone elses so i picked the nearest

i rode for mecatechno and had two bikes at one point, i didnt do any maintenance on them (it was done for me)
if i remember right the mudguard is a one off , and they did sounds loud and when flat out did ring a bit.

the person that gave me the bikes sadly passed away a few years ago, he would've known everything you need to know...which isnt much help is it!!

i ripped my cruciate ligament in my knee in june 99, then had operation and did it again in august 99, so sold the bike and took 5 months out.
unfortunately my mate had an operation on the nerves in his hand at the same time , so i had a fishing / drinking parter and proceded to fish and drink for about 4 months , i put on about 3 1/2 but when your doing it over a long time you dont really notice it.

over 40 leader dave clinkcard had 35, 9 and 24
i had 16 or 18 (3 + 13-15) depending on whether the observer on the 2nd to last section was allowed to give me a five for footing more than three times!!
sunter told me he had 25 on the second card , mostly for missing gates, not suprised with the speed he carries up the streams!
