TRY MOTOSWM , MARTIN'S JUST GOT A NEW STOCK OF PISTONS FOR 280'S , DOUBLE TOP RING.

Swing arms are a pig to fit, but also measure across the rear engine mounting, and check the new bushes actually fit, sometime you need to grind the inner off the bushes to get the necessary width.

I have done this switch on my 320, I have marzochi yokes with betor stanchions. 1, The marazochi yokes have handlebars mounted closer to the centerline of steering axis, so steering allegedly feels quicker ?, not sure I've felt the effect but hey!. 2, the Betor stancions are about 25mm shorter than the marzochi, so again pulling in the front overhang and quickening the steering feel. Ps the Fantic marazochi yokes have different bearings, and hence a different stem in the yokes.

Guys, just acquired a tx311 , restoration project, but noticed it has a 25mm dellorto, is that standard or a misfit from previous owner? Andy.

I just put a pair of the Clubman spec HFS units into my Betor forked 280, and they're great soft, progressive , worth the 110euro.

Hi Phil, look like we had the same idea... I went Back 38mm and down 25mm. but i then had to move the sidestand lug back 25mm on the swingarm, and still have the brake pedal mod to do..!

I promised an update when Id measured the stroke, AND .... its a std 125 crank with stroke of 54mm , meaning a swept volume of 171cc. Rebuild is on hold , I bought an old 280 ..... but will restart in 2019....

AS clutches are a major talking point on the Forum, AND i was a bit bored last night !!.. thought i'd do some measurements of the Clutch lever actuation while my 320 is stripped down. ( Excuse the slightly blurred pics and the Dirt in the casings !!.) These are just for Information , as I'd not seen these measurements stated (So hope this helps anyone in some way ) .. And they're from a pretty worn engine, but I expect them to be reasonably accurate. (is that enough disclaimers !!)

Wow, Thanks Motsinge83, that's the kind of detail I was hoping for. Do you still have the bike ?. Interesting to hear about them machining down a second Ignition cover to make a spacer....!No expense spared Ha ha. I'll talk to Martin at "MotoSWM" about the barrel liners, Maybe its a 175 barrel?. PS. From the pictures looks like the Leather cover on the seat was another special mod. Cool Pictures , many thanks.

Thanks Reggie, yep I'd heard that one too. Once I get the piston out I'll check gudgeon pin bore and crown heights to see if we get a suitable source !!.

Finally started to pull apart my 81 PECO 200 SWM . Not many of these were made, Not even sure if any others have survived out there. It was a small company called "Performance Equip CO" here in the UK that modified the std 125 SWM trials , I believe 6 were made, but some of this is just folklore, would love to hear more snippets about the history of these if anyone really knows .. Any way I've owned it from Circa 1985, Although my memorys not as good as it was, and apologies in advance for the fuzzy photos. And Yes it was a black frame model when it was first made... As I'm going to restore it I thought I'd put up some pictures of the "modified" parts of the engine. 1, Heavier Flywheel and Ignition Backplate modifcation. 2, Bore and Stroke OK So Measured the bore and it comes in at 63.5mm Diameter. Doing the maths , IF the Stroke is std for a 125 at 54mm the that makes 171cc. Bearing in mind this was the era when a 200 fantic was actually 156 !! , then maybe thats that. But will do some more diggin to see if it is using the 175 enduro 57.5mm stroke crank or even the 61mm 240/280 crank. I'll do an update to the page when the Piston and crank are out.

Would be happy to look at the CAD files, I could use the profiles to machine tooling with a cnc.

Hey not Ron, Would like to know how thick the spacer was that you put under the bearing to adjust the bite point?

What oil are u using with the Barnett plates?. Just installed some on mine.
