  1. Welcome aboard Charlie. I'm sure you'll find friends and great advice on here.

Adjusting the spokes will have no affect on the leaking. The rim tape will need replacing or sealing. There's a lot on here about trying to get rim tapes to seal but I for one remove and clean the rim tape then cover the spoke ends in silicone compound and then refit the tape. This always works where as just trying to get the rim tape to seal on its own seldon does for most people.
  3. Jitsie's about the same as Hebo so no problems there. Their helmets have a nice feel to if you find the right fit. Gaerne Oiled are the best boots but also the most expensive. They are the only truly waterproof ones out there and comfy. No that's my opinion but I'm sure you'll get lots on others.
  4. Hopefully yes. If you buy it and its not the original let us know we we'll pull the ad and warn the user. To be sure always buy from a reputable seller. Motomerlin like Andy says sell the original.

Thanks to Toofast Tim for this link to GG Factory info. It's doesn't look anything like the workshop seen in the above image background. I think this once and for all tells us this is not the 2011 GG. Gas Gas

Chrome front pipe too. Since 2010 they've been Titanium.

I hope not! that's a bike ramp. I think its a bikes front wheel you're seeing with a strip light in the background making it look like a light coloured wing. I'm with you though on thinking that's not the GG factory. I'd have to add I hope that's not the 2011 gasser. I prefer the XPA based on this.

maybe. If so I'm wrong and sorry. It still doesn't look like the 2011 though. It looks like we may have to wait and see.

The new frame was certainly on show with the new mid section. They looked like this

That's not it surely. We all saw the 2011 bikes in Fort William at the weekend and this wasn't it. It may have been that all were Raga reps but I can't believe that they will be all that different. The forks look wrong and the background looks like someones workshop not what I'd expect the GG factory to look like.
  12. I still have a few copies of the DVD available. See above for ordering details.
  13. I disagree. It would be great if L&M were to share the numbers with us but they probably won't and I understand why. It would be good to see how the number stack up against the Hawkstone rounds which were right in the middle of England. I personally think that the numbers were good but may not have appears so due to the spread out nature of the venue. This very nature is a positive thing. I travelled to the Hawkstone rounds and thought viewing was very poor. Partly due to the fact that on many sections the ground sloped away from the sections meaning only those at the front got a good view and partly because the section were close together meaning that crowds followed the top boys of which there are so few.
  14. I'll remember that Chris for Tillymorgan this weekend. I'm not sure where to punch your 25 though on a punch card with 0,1,2,3 & 5 on it.

Try youtube there's plenty of footage online.
  17. Tell me about it. I need to sit down now and watch what I filmed. I also spend the whole of the SSDT every year looking at a view finder. It's only back home looking at the clips that I actually see the whole section being ridden.
  18. I've got that very move in close up HD video. Andy has this now so hopefully will appear on here soon.

If this is a brand new bike I'm pleased to tell you it will calm down over time but a slow throttle isn't a bad idea anyway if your just starting out. It doesn't make a lot of difference other than just off the bottom. It's better for controlling the bike when your riding up a section at say a slow jogging pace. The bike won't jump forward so much and feel like it wants to take off. On the other hand when you want that urge its still there with a little more twist. I'd recommend giving it a try, they aren't very expensive and you can always go back.

Use this chart. I have always run my gassers at 75:1
  21. It's my understanding that the lower stream is partly controlled by sluice gates. I wonder if there is any plan to open them a little on one of the days. Now that would change things quite a bit.

SSDT 2011 free ride has recieved its first bid. I cannot disclose the bidder or the amount as its a maximum bid rather than a fixed one. Feel free to start trying to out bid it though as its still up for grabs and could be a bargain. This is a unique chance.
